Arsenal's pursuit of Barcelona star striker David Villa during January was well documented, but now it appears that the Gunners could once again have a shot at landing the Spanish international this summer.

The coaches hope he is here next season but we will not retain any player that is uncomfortable.

More than half of January has come and gone, leaving little time left in the transfer window for teams to bolster their squads. We've been without that one huge winter signing thus far and it doesn't seem as though one will materialize.
Barcelona star David Villa was recently linked with a move to Arsenal this week according to the Mirror. The talented Spanish international spent the majority of 2012 on the sideline after falling victim to injury at the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup
Since his return this season he has been building back to his top class form of old.

Arsenal have been up and down all season long. From having matches where they couldn't buy a goal to others where the opposition cannot stop them from scoring at will, the Gunners have spent time on both ends of the spectrum in 2012-13.

Manchester United winger Nani has looked an outcast at Old Trafford this season. With only a handful of appearances and several injury layoffs, the Portuguese international has been a shadow of the talented player he has looked in the past.

In the absence of Robin van Persie, the Arsenal faithful wondered just who would rise to the occasion to fill the boots of the departed dynamic Dutchman. Summer acquisitions of both German international Lukas Podolski and French attacker Olivier Giroud were believed to be enough to fill the void.

In the first half of the Premier League season, It has been evident how badly Arsenal miss Alex Song following his summer departure to Barcelona.
The ability to break down opposing play, protect theback-line and launch attacks with accurate passing to other creators were always his specialties, and now the club have been left with desperate need for iron in midfield.

In the wake of news that Bacary Sagna wants to leave Arsenal, following their £60,000 a week contract offer, it seems that Arsenal risk losing another of their high-profile stars.

With January edging closer day by day, clubs across England are devoting serious time and resources into preparing for the transfer window that it set to open on January 1st. English Premier League clubs have been compiling lists of potential transfer targets for some time now and will be looking to dig into the money allocated to them by the brass of their respective clubs in order to bolster their squad ahead of the mad dash to the end of the Premier League season.

As January is fast approaching, clubs across the world will be looking to add talent in the transfer window that is set to open in the new year. It's a time of both vast intrigue and incessant blathering that can drive soccer fans nuts as newspapers and media outlets are keen on generating gossip that will catch the attention of many.
This is a move which has been floating around for quite some time but it seems to have been made
official today, with Arsenal announcing the signing of Olivier Giroud the French striker.
Olivier Giroud arrives with a pretty big reputation from French side Montpellier, the 25 year
old scoring 21 times as Montpellier claimed the French title.
As you will know, this is a blog about Arsenal. Hence the name.
Obviously I have a keen interest in all things Arsenal. I want the the club to do well, to win
things, to compete and to sign good players. When we sign those players, I will welcome them
(unless they're one of these signings in which case I'll hedge my bets and make a 'this tastes
yukky' face whilst suggesting we should wait and see how they do), and players we don't sign don't
interest me in the slightest.
Arsenal will be spluttering. Chelsea will be in disbelief. Real Madrid will be shocked.
Young Belgium playmaker Eden Hazard announced his intention to join the renaissance at Spurs
under Harry Redknapp and, in my opinion, there's no place better for him.
He told Belgium TV station RTBF: "I will go to England to play my football.
Summer 2012 needs to see a change in direction in Arsenal's transfer policy. Out must go this
incessant desire to collect 15-16 year olds from around the world and expect and hope that they
will develop.
Arsenal have many youngsters in the reserves or on loan for whom the time is ripe for them to be
given their chance.
Arsenal has suffered some terrible bad luck with defensive injuries this season. We lost
Sagna, Gibbs and Jenkinson all with a 17 days in October, but the loss that has hurt us most was
the loss of Santos in December. Santos was an attacking full-back and gave us extra attacking
options something that has been lacking in recent weeks.
The Arsenal board and Wenger have constantly talked about the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules and
how the Arsenal model is the model other clubs are striving for (financially if not trophy wise).Â
Arsenal are of the opinion that our prudence in the transfer market will eventually ensure we are a
successful club both on and off the field.
Well the transfer window closed last night and unlike windows of the past, Arsenal were doing
business all the way until it slammed shut. Four players were confirmed last night as having
signed, with Park announced the day before. It was clear from the start of the season that Wenger
had to act to change our fortunes and only time will tell if Le Professor has bought correctly.
Transfer deadline day looms and Arsenal are still in the market for midfielders, this is not
idle blog gossip but Arsene Wenger stated we are short of players in this area. This became
self-evident in recent games were the creativity has been left to Rosicky and his best days are
behind him.
Today is a day we will all go mad in following rumours and tweets.
It's been a pretty quiet week but things should start ramping up a bit today as we start to look ahead to Sunday's game against Manchester City. There's some early team news, most of it good, but Olivier Giroud is a doubt having not trained all week because of a deep cut on his knee suffered against Swansea.

So, Arsene has been talking about transfers. And as time goes by, listening to Arsene talk about transfers is steadily becoming one of the most infuriating things about life as an Arsenal fan. One day we're going to be active, the next we'll wait and see. One day we're looking everywhere, the next it all depends on a bloke signing a new deal – the same bloke who has steadfastly refused to sign the new deal on offer for 18 months now.
Good morning, welcome to Friday and as such the newsiest day of the week as we start to focus on
Sunday's game against Stoke.
Starting with some early team news and it looks like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is back in
contention, for a place on the bench at least, while Laurent Koscielny hasn't yet recovered
sufficiently from his calf problem to be considered.
FA Cup time and I'll happily admit this is a competition I have always enjoyed. My first Arsenal memory is winning it in 1979 and we've been lucky enough to win it a number of times since. Who could ever forget Freddie leaving John Terry on his youthful, but still utterly reprehensible arse, to curl home a decisive goal?

It is remarkably quiet considering we're heading into the final two games of this league season.
Maybe it's not that remarkable though, maybe there's just a sense that this campaign is one most
people would pretty much like to see the back of ... once we secure third place.
