Having seen the latest group of Academy graduates win last night against West Brom in the
Carling Cup, Arsene Wenger is being linked with yet another of Europe's young "whizz-kids", this
time it is Belgium's Eden Hazard who is currently playing with Lille,
Arsenal have been monitoring the player for some time and there were reports that the club were
going to make a move for him in the summer.

The transfer window has barely shut and we have an agonising ten weeks until the open sign is
displayed, but this has not stopped the speculation starting once again.
It is no secret that Wenger tried to sign Marouane Chamakh this summer, the two clubs could not
agree on a fee. Arsenal offered a fee in the region of £5million, whilst Bordeaux wanted double
that price for a player who is out of contract next summer and stated his intentions on wishing to
join Arsenal.

Will there be a flurry of transfer activity on deadline day at Arsenal?
Philippe Senderos has left it late to find a new club and the rumours are that either Portsmouth
or Hull City  will make a move for the Swiss international. This is a mighty drop after playing
for AC Milan and Arsenal, but with no other takers and Senderos being sixth choice after Gallas,
Vermaelen, Djourou, Silvestre and Song, it is best if the Swiss stopper moves to a team that will
give him regular football.

There have been various reports in the press this morning over a few of Arsenal's transfer
dealings, as i shall tell you about below:
Marouane Chamakh
The Daily Mirror reports that Arsene will make a final move for the Moroccan international after
his £5 million bid was rejected earlier this summer, they report the bid will be around £8.

... and world's biggest air quotes Mischievous Spanish journalists have uncovered this photograph
of a young Cesc Fabregas in his Barcelona kit and are apparently reporting that the Arsenal man has
"Barcelona DNA". We love the gigantic air quotes. Perhaps he is saying "cheese" or "queso" to have
his photo taken but wants to signify that he [.

Don't Chamakh me angry! Arsenal transfer target Marouane Chamakh has launched a tirade against
current club Bordeaux in a bid to force through his transfer. The 25-year-old followed in the
footsteps of Darren Bent when he publicly announced his anger at the slow progress of his proposed
transfer. He said: "I am angry, I am disgusted and [.

Reports in The Times and both London Lite and The LondonPaper state that Eboue is on his way to
Fiorentina. Â The Times goes on to say that the player, or rather his agents have agreed a 5 year
deal.  Fiorentina have offered £5.6m, whilst Arsenal values the player at £8.6m.
Fiorentina's coach Cesare Prandelli said: Eboue is a very important player.

We bid farewell to the last of the Invincibles with the departure of Kolo Toure to Manchester
City.
Kolo's departure brings to end a chapter in our history that had us not only playing some
breathtaking football but also winning trophies and creating Premiership history. We look back on
those days when the squad was full of established stars that were coming to their peak and we hope
that it will not be long before those days are once again with us.

Are Arsenal about to say goodbye to another of their enfant terribles? Reports in to Il
Corriere dello Sport claim that Arsenal have agreed a fee of €9million for Eboue with
Fiorentina.
Eboue was rumoured to be part of the deal to sign Felippe Melo but that deal did not
materialize, instead Fiorentina have returned to offer Arsenal a cash offer for the Ivorian
right-back.

Several website are reporting that Arsenal's pursuit of Marouane Chamakh to replace Adebayor has
run into trouble. The stumbling block and this does not make sense is that Bordeaux want
Silvestre as part of the deal.
What is strange is that it was widely reported that the Moroccan striker had a £7million
buyout clause.

Sky Sports have been reporting that not only that Arsenal are interested in signing St.
Etienne's midfielder Blaise Matuidi, but that the player is in England at the moment. They go on
to day that the play is in England with his agent and has been shown around Arsenal, and I do not
think they meant a stadium tour!

Arsene will be focusing on rebuilding his central defence this summer. This rebuilding has
started with the acquisition of Thomas Vermaelen, but it will not and cannot end here.
Of the central defenders on our books from last season, four of them have contract that expire
next summer.

The confusion over the potential transfer of Felipe Melo has been somewhat clarified by
Fiorentina with an official statement. The Italian club has stated that Melo has not signed for
Juventus.
The club has made it clear that there is only club that has made an offer for Melo, who recently
signed a new contract that included a release clause of £21million.

Adebayor holds the key as to whether we see two or more players move to Arsenal this summer. Â
Unlike last season when Wenger was determined that Adebayor will not leave, this season he is
"easy" with the situation. In fact I have never known Wenger "tout" a player as he has done with
Adebayor this season.

Internet site Sport.co.uk, the site that first reported the imminent signature of Thomas
Vermaelen, though in fairness they do print so much garbage they are making Tribal football look
respectable, are stating that Brazilian centre back Naldo is on his way from Werder Bremen to
Arsenal.
They quote Werder Bremen coach who said, "Naldo is a great athlete and could do well at the
right club, unfortunately he doesn't fit the direction we're planning to move in any longer.

Reports in the UK media are saying that mega bucks Manchester City are preparing a £15 million
bid for Toure.
Toure was subject of a bid from Manchester City in January; in fact the Ivory Coast defender
handed in a written transfer request, but was persuaded by Wenger to withdraw it.

The focus today is Francophone players.
France Football's Phillipe Auclair stated that Arsenal are close to signing Chamakh from
Bordeaux. Auclair is a respected journalist and knows quite a bit about Arsene's France based
dealings. If Phillipe Auclair claims Arsenal are close to signing Marouane Chamakh, then that is
more credible than a lot of the UK newspaper back pages.

Another day in the transfer market, so it must be a new target for Arsenal. Today the Daily
Mail has Arsenal preparing a bid (I love the thought of Wenger, Gazidis and Friar sitting over a PC
and typing out a bid) for Fiorentina's Felipe Melo.
Â
The price is £15million (it appears that this is the going rate for players) despite the fact
that Fiorentina have a bid of £15 million plus a player on the table, Arsenal are supposedly
offering less!

Last summer I wrote that the writing was on the wall for Phillipe Senderos. Â Newcastle were one
of the clubs interested in taking the Swiss international away from his Arsenal nightmare.
Wenger let Senderos go to AC Milan on loan a deal that cost the Italian club £1.5 million, the
deal was constructed with a view to AC Milan signing the player on a permanent deal this summer for
£6.

According to Mamadou Sakho's agent, Arsenal are in prime position to complete signing of the
Paris St Germain defender.
Arsenal have been on Sakho's trail for some time, in line with half-a-dozen other La Ligue based
players. Â Sakho is young, but it appears that Wenger believes the 19 year-old is able to make the
grade in the Premier League at such a tender age.

Well as always this summer Arsenal have been linked with many players throughout the world, but
today I have set out to create a post about the realistic players who could come to Arsenal and the
likely hood we will sign them.
Starting from defence and working up the field you can see the players below, (Please note
the word realistic because we have been linked with many players around the field and I'm only
showing as the word suggest real transfer prospects.

Arsenal are reportedly battling Juventus to sign £17million-rated Macedonia striker Goran
Pandev.
The 25-year-old has told Lazio he needs a new challenge after five years in Rome and the Gunners
are said to have joined the race for his signature.
Last month he was linked to Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool, while Bayern Munich and
Fiorentina are now also reported to be interested.

Kolo Toure's relationship with Gallas has been well documented, they do not get on! Â Toure has
told everyone and he was close to leaving in January. Â A transfer request was handed in but Arsene
spoke to Kolo and the request was withdrawn.
Only last week Toure extolled the virtues of keeping the squad together
"I think keeping the team together is the most important thing," he said.

Arsene Wenger agreed a £10million deal for Ajax centre-back Thomas Vermaelen yesterday but is
still unsure about who will partner him at the heart of Arsenal's defence next season.
Though his agent Soren Lerby was still negotiating personal terms last night, Vermaelen seems
certain to sign a four-year contract at The Emirates after convincing the Arsenal manager he has
the credentials to shore up a defence that was repeatedly found wanting last season.

The papers are full of stories that Wenger is prepared to make a bid of £15 million for
Fulham's centre-back Brede Hangeland. The Danish centre-back has received rave reviews all season
and Arsenal have been linked with the 6ft 4 inch defender for some months.
Fulham will be reluctant to sell one of their main assets.

that Arsenal mean business.
