After the Gunners crashed out to Lionel Messi FC, are they heading for another trophyless
season?
We assess what lies ahead for Arsene Wenger and his young squad.
Wenger to extend contract?
The current Arsenal boss has just over a year left on his current contract.
Robert Pires is said to be in talks to join Major League Soccer this summer. He is currently
playing at Villareal in Spain and reports from the MLS are stating that he could join some time
after April 15. European fans will remember Pires as part of the remarkable Arsenal squad that
went unbeaten for an entire season on their way to the 2003/2004 Premier League title.
After suffering yet another bout of Déj vu, I would like to know what Arsene Wenger and the
Arsenal squad actually talk about in training. I can only presume tactics are not high on the
list.
Arsenal are a team that never seem to learn. Or maybe they are learning to be as stubborn as
their deluded manager?
The Game Will this nightmare ever end? It is amazing how when the going got tougher, this Arsenal
squad decided to go to sleep instead of fighting, a word which I'm afraid is not in the ...

Arsene Wenger will have a transfer kitty of up to £45 million to spend on strengthening
the Arsenal squad this summer, it can be revealed today.
The Home-Grown rule and the squad quota have come under the spotlight in recent times even
though the initial announcements were made early in September 2009. The salient aspects of the new
rules are as follows
- Teams will have to register squads of 25 players at the end of both transfer windows
- Eight of this 25 will have to be home grown i.
Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear the news that manager Arsene Wenger has finally admitted he
will add at least one player to his Arsenal squad. It is not easy to understand what the Frenchman

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela is on his way back to Mexico with his national colleagues after
being eliminated by Diego Maradona's strong Argentine side at Soccer City last evening.
Vela was not able to feature in the match due to a hamstring injury which he suffered against
France in the early stages.
Just a quick update today, and it looks like we may well have a fully fit squad shortly after
the conclusion of the international break.
Theo Walcott, Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Tomas Vermaelen, Almunia, Nicklas Bendtner and
Abou Diaby are all expected to be 100% fit after the international break, giving us a nice boost to
hopefully kick-start another run at Chelsea after we slipped even further behind on Sunday
afternoon.
Yesterday, I was too distraught to write a match review. Even now I am quite peeved but there
were too many positives in the game and I think it deserves a proper mention even though the
horrendous tackle cast a gloomy shadowed all the bright moments.
The start of the game reminded me of our previous two visits to this stadium.
When Arsene Wenger brought Sol Campbell back to Arsenal I actually felt for him.
For years many people, including lots of Gooners, said that Wenger needed to bring experience to
this Arsenal squad.
Well you won't find many players more experienced than Sol Campbell will you?
Despite Campbells wealth of knowledge the move was probably criticised more than it was acclaimed.

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has been given the green light for a major summer spending
spree.
After yet another trophy-less season, chairman Peter Hill-Wood revealed more money "than for a
long, long time" was available for Wenger thought to be around £25-£30m.
We just don't learn, do we now?!! If ever there was a squad in football where each and every
player mastered the art of making idiotic defensive mistakes, this Arsenal squad is one.
Fair play to Wigan, they fought hard, played a positive game, and got just rewards for their
endeavour. In the end they had more shots on goal and equal possession.
- Frustrated on the sidelines.
Incredulous. This is the emotion Arsene Wenger must be feeling after seeing his team go from
being two goals up to a Wigan side battling for survival at the bottom of the Premier League, to
losing the game three goals to two. I don't believe that Wigan pulled off this comeback because
they are the stronger side, because they aren't.
During Friday's press conference ahead of the Manchester City game, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
was very upset with false transfer rumours circulating on his Arsenal squad. Gianluigi Buffon and
Felipe Melo offered for Robin van Persie ...
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has joined the likes of Sol Campbell and Lee Dixon in
stressing the importance of experienced figures in the Arsenal squad although according to him, no
complete revamp is required. Speaking ...

As Ernest Hemingway's famous novel states, a bell tolled at Fratton Park the night Portsmouth's
sputtering hopes for safety took another blow at the hands of Arsenal, on the heels of the English
Revenue bandits nasty New Year surprise only hours earlier.
I have this nervy sort of feeling for this game, part excitement part anxiety. So far we have
been able to point at the game in hand to explain the points difference with the leaders. Now it's
time to make the game count. The excitement is obviously from our recent form. There seems to be no
apparent cause for us to break stride.
Sol Campbell is back with Arsenal at the age of 35. He begins his return with a reserves
match and according to Wenger, he's an important dressing room figure for the youthful Arsenal
squad. The following is a transcript of how Sol and Arsene reached their agreement.
Wenger: Sol, what have you been up to lately?
Cesc Fabregas and Gael Clichy have been included in the Arsenal squad set to face Bolton tomorrow.
Both players are fit-again and likely to start after recovering from hamstring and back injuries
respectively. The problem position for Arsenal seems to be in defensive midfield, with Denilson
still injured and Alex Song at the African Nations Cup, Abou [.

Boo!
Arsenal are top of the league. There, I said it. That wasn't easy. I'm off for a hot shower,
using a wire brush to clean myself...
... Okay, I'm back. As I said, Arsenal are top of the Prem. What does this mean?
Arsene Wenger has re-iterated yet again that he will not be buying a striker, and he is cheered by
the return of Samir Nasri and Nicklas Bendtner to the Arsenal squad for tonights game against Aston
Villa, although he admits that they are not yet fit enough to start the match. He says there is no

African duo Emmanuel Eboue and Alex Song will be in the Arsenal squad to face Manchester United
this Sunday. Both players returned from African Cup of Nations duty in midweek, with defensive
midfielder Song expected to start in the weekend's vital title clash. Meanwhile, Belgian defender
Thomas Vermaelen's foot injury isn't as bad as first feared.

I'll be your private dancer, dancing for rumours. Here's the round up...
Loic would be a 'Nice' addition to the Arsenal squad
Rumour No. 1: Arsenal are going to have to wait until the summer if they want
to sign £13m-rated Nice striker Loic Remy.
With the transfer clock ticking down, Newcastle Boss Chris Hughton wants to add firepower to his
Championship side, so that they can head back into the Barclays Premier league.
Several English Sources are claiming that he has three names on his wish list, which include
Hull City striker Daniel Cousin, Arsenal's Carlos Vela as well as Everton forward David
Vaughan.
I'm frustrated but not surprised that Arsene Wenger hasn't added anyone other than Sol Campbell to
this Arsenal squad.
Maybe I am slightly deluded but I honestly had the belief that Wenger would bring someone else in.
I guess that from now on in the future I'll have to take his comments on signing players with a
pinch of salt.
Since being beat by Manchester United I have seen criticism leveled at Arsene Wenger like never
before. It's almost another level.
It got even worse when he didn't add to the squad on transfer dead-line day. A move that has led
many Gooners to despair.
So much so I've even seen an Arsenal blog begin a petition to sack him.
Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has totally ruled out that young Mexican forward Carlos Vela will
be able to return into the Arsenal Squad for Sunday's crucial battle with Chelsea at Stamford
Bridge.

Things could be very, very different indeed.
Who knows? If results go our way we could be only six points off Chelsea and only four behind
Manchester United.
On the other hand we may find ourselves only two points clear of Liverpool.
Two very different scenario's but both should give this Arsenal squad enough motivation to go on
and claim three of the most important points this Premiership campaign has to offer tonight.

Football is finally back for the Mighty Arsenal and thank goodness for that!
Here is the eighteen man squad who by now would have safely landed on Portuguese soil, had a
good nights sleep and are busy getting themselves ready for their day ahead. Ok, not so much day,
but tonight.
Gunners forward Carlos Vela had a surprising return into the Arsenal Squad, as Arsene Wenger's
side lost there Champions League clash in Porto on last Wednesday. Carlos was brought on for Danish
hitman Nicklas Bendtner with just 8 minutes left in the match. For the Mexican it was very crucial
to get back on the right track after missing out for a couple of games with a knee injury.
I think it could be fair to say that Andrey Arshavin isn't in the best of form at the moment but
while this maybe the case I don't think we should get on his back for it.
Seeing his little red face puffing away breathlessly after 30 seconds of the match may frustrate
you, as may his 'not bothered' demeanor, but the truth is the little Russian has been an unsung
hero for Arsenal this campaign.
He is back. Striker Robin van Persie will be in the Arsenal squad for the first time since
November. The 26-year old has in fact passed a number of training sessions with flying colours and

Arsene Wenger is ready to reignite his interest in intelligent Dutch playmaker Ibrahim Afellay
this summer. The 24 year old has been a long term target of the Gunners boss and the Emirates side
hope to finally clinch the signing as they prepare to offload injury prone Tomas Rosicky to help
create space to accommodate him.
Arsene Wenger has been quoted quite a lot over the last few weeks saying that he will be buying
players to strengthen the Arsenal squad this summer, and he wants them to be in place before the
World Cup starts, but now it seems that he will be signing Marouane Chamakh for free immediately,
and [...]
