Anyone watching the Stoke City against Arsenal game on Saturday would have been absolutely
sickened to see the horrific injury against Arsenal forward Aaron Ramsey. The horror show tackle
could easily end Ramsey's career such was the extent of the injury.
The incident happened in the second half when Ryan Shawcross knocked the ball ahead of him and
tried to catch up to it while Aaron Ramsey ran forward to intercept the ball.
Back again to give you Fantasy Premier League tips. Sorry for the lack of post in the last week, I
was sick and wasn't able to give my thoughts about that gameweek.
But as I said, now it's time to look at the gameweek 5.
Chelsea has been dominating in the first few rounds and as they now go against riser Blackpool on
their hometurf, it's very like Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Essien and co keep on scoring goals and
collecting points.

Arsenal players relax on Saturday evening before their game at Everton by playing FIFA 11 in
Cesc's hotel room. From left to right: Gael Clichy, Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshere and Theo
Walcott
According to Fabregas, he and Gael Clichy can't be beat at FIFA 11.
I hope Ramsey recovers soon and his injury won't be as serious as that of Eduardo or RvP. There
isn't much I can do for him so I'll just pray and hope. The injury was really bad so I don't want
to dwell on it too much right now.
The team responded brilliantly and the spirit was phenomenal. Hats off to each and every one of
them.
Arsene Wenger gave an interview about Paul Scholes offering plenty of praise, claiming he wished
he played for Arsenal and that he has been integral to United's success over almost two
decades.
Wenger was then asked whether he thought Scholes was a fair player. I think any United fan would
be happy to admit that Scholes' tackling can be suspect at times, with him flying in on an opponent
and not always coming away with the ball.
Former Real Madrid striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy got off the bench to score a brace in the span of
2 minutes for his new club Hamburg SV as they cruised to a 3-1 win over VfB Stuttgart on
Friday.
Van Nistelrooy who left Real in the winter transfer window was making only his second appearance
for the club and he did it in style.
The World Cup is finally coming to life. I was hoping for an exciting game between Argentina and
Korea and Maradona's team didn't disappoint. South Korea tried to follow the Switzerland blueprint
but Messi taught his Barca teammates a lesson or two in breaking resolute defences.
In fairness, the Koreans weren't as well organized as Hitzfeld's team and the own goal didn't
help their cause.
This article was published at about 8am on 11 May but there were reports from readers that it was
not visible, so I am trying it again. Tony There were 15 Arsenal players on loan by the end of the
season. Here's an analysis of them – the percentage figure at the end comes from the vote [...]
Arsenal players put in good performances at the World Cup today. Van Persie picked up an assist,
Bendtner scored a nice goal and should have had an assist (don't know why he isn't credited with
one) and Song worked hard in midfield and deserved more from the game.
The day started with Holland taking on Japan.
Arsenal 2 1 Birmingham City
All the talk surrounding this match involved the return of Alexander Hleb (CM)
to The Emirates Stadium, the rumored return to fitness of Theo Walcott
(RW) and the non-rumored return of Nickolas Bendtner (S) for The
Gunners.
There's very little in common between Arsenal and Blackpool. Both clubs couldn't be more
opposite. But they do both enjoy playing an attractive style of football rather than hoofing it up
the pitch. But perhaps one of the biggest differences between the clubs is the number of foreign
players that play for both sides.
The cat coat lost. How is that even possible? It's a CAT COAT.

The Game These are the sort of games which win you titles. On a day which saw many Arsenal players
failing to deliver and some shocking referee decisions, we get three very important points which

I don't know what to feel right now. Should I be happy we are still in the tie? Was the late
rally a sign of endurance and mental strength that will see us through tough times in the future? I
am trying to be positive about this game but it's tough.
The first half performance was depressing.
After his theatrics at the Emirates and most notably at the Nou Camp, Barcelona's Sergio
Busquets has done it again. The Spanish defensive midfielder, once an Arsenal target, used a
mixture of diving and play acting against the Gunners over the two-legged tie. Tonight, as Barca
faced Inter Milan, he did it again.
After watching this game, which was in some ways a reflection on the whole season, I feel there
is a big market for a couple of books – Defending for Dummies & Refereeing for Dummies. I know
some of you think there is just cause to throw in a free copy of Football Management for Dummies as
well, but I'll resist that temptation.
This summer sees South Africa host the most prestigious footballing trophy there is: The World
Cup. The competition hosts the most talented footballers in the world with the likes of Lionel
Messi, Christiano Ronaldo (although we hate to admit it!) and Kaka all playing for their respective
countries.
Much though I dislike international football, I have nonetheless been watching the World Cup and
I've been meaning to blog a few things about it for a while.
1) There was lot of revisionist stuff written in the media after the England-Algeria game about how
Capello is not a very good tactician.
The huge gulf in class between the two teams was eventually exposed as Arsenal won the game
convincingly, albeit with a few hiccups along the way. For a while it looked much closer than it
should have been, mainly due to the endeavour of the hosts, good goalkeeping, and profligacy of the
Arsenal attackers.
One person's gain is another's misfortune
The cycle of renewing contracts continues as Wojciech Szczesny finally signs on the dotted line.
Which is not something out of the ordinary, except that he had only recently been quoted that he
rather waits till further down the season before deciding on his future.
Cesc will have to make sure no one slacks off
That's one third of the season gone already. The 2 months in between May and August passes
really slowly without football and yet almost 4 months have elapsed since the start of the season.
After 13 games, Arsenal sit pretty in second place just 2 points off leaders, Chelsea.
It's that time of the year again. The most overhyped bunch of players and manager in the
Premiership visit the most undervalued lot at the Emirates for a game that stretches the boundaries
of passion.
We can say all sorts of things for this one. The cautious ones might say the Tiny Totts have
some good players and Arsenal will have to be close to their best to win.
I guess this was as easy a game as Arsenal will play all season. If it had been a non-Arsenal
game I'd have stopped watching after 10 minutes or so. But because it was Arsenal I had to struggle
through a shaky and hazy stream at the risk of enduring a headache later, which is now and I have a
bad one.
Simples The most notable thing about Andrey Arshavin's speech on behalf of the Russia 2018 World
Cup bid was that it seemed to be a blatant rip-off of one of the annoying Compare The Meerkat
adverts. We've reported in the past that Arsenal players have noticed the similarities when
Arshavin talks English in his thick [.
A few days back, during the course of some random web surfing, I came across a quote by former
US president John F. Kennedy. It took a few moments to sink in but since then I haven't stopped
admiring the wisdom captured in just a few words. Moreover, it's extremely relevant in the context
of Arsenal FC.
In bringing Sol Campbell back Arsene Wenger has done something that I never thought he would ever
do and re-signed a former player.
Wenger is a stubborn man but perhaps this sudden change of policy is the sign of a person who will
even go against his own principles to bring back silverware to us.

Before the game I was quite confident of a good result in this game. We have been playing well
and the team sheet showed that except Van Persie this was perhaps the best starting line up we
have. Within five minutes however, I was really worried. In spite of Arshavin fashioning a couple
of openings for himself and making Brown look like a school boy it seemed to me that we were
sitting back!
With the Chelsea game only days away, Andrey Arshavin chose a wrong moment to show his
disappointment on the current set of Arsenal players. According to the Russian, considering the
players with which the Gunners ...
When the manager of the winning team says something like, "we didn't play well, but we didn't
have to" there are some serious implications.
Last week we were discussing the need for signing a proper defense coach. Perhaps the team
realizes that Wenger doesn't understand this problem and decided to give him further proof.
Yesterday, I was too distraught to write a match review. Even now I am quite peeved but there
were too many positives in the game and I think it deserves a proper mention even though the
horrendous tackle cast a gloomy shadowed all the bright moments.
The start of the game reminded me of our previous two visits to this stadium.
Arsenal players, manager and fans seem to have joined forces in wanting to win the Premiership
title for Aaron Ramsey, who suffered a horrible injury last Saturday, at the Britannia Stadium,
against Stoke City. The ...
This afternoon, Arsenal will face Birmingham City away from home in a stadium which brings bad

With Wolves coming up tomorrow, we archive the big Champions League game against Barcelona with
quotes from three Arsenal players. Brasilian midfielder Denilson was upset following the injury to
Cesc Fabregas which ended the season ...
In yesterday's preview there was the worry about where the goals might come from in the absence
of Arshavin, Fabregas and others. After 93 1/2 minutes I have to admit I was just beginning to
think the goal might not come.
Wolves were on the ropes having taken a pounding and in the final furlong Arsenal pipped them to
the post finding their second wind late in the innings to win the match.
We just don't learn, do we now?!! If ever there was a squad in football where each and every
player mastered the art of making idiotic defensive mistakes, this Arsenal squad is one.
Fair play to Wigan, they fought hard, played a positive game, and got just rewards for their
endeavour. In the end they had more shots on goal and equal possession.
The Barcelona genius Lionel Messi scored four goals to dump Arsenal out of the Champions League,
but he says he was struck by the respect the Arsenal players showed him after the game. He said:
"One of the Arsenal players came up to me afterwards and said it had been an honour to be on the
