The newspapers this morning (Well, The Sun anyway), were full of pictures of Arsene Wenger meeting
a blonde in Paris on Wednesday night, and the Arsenal coach is alleged to have conducted a two-year
affair with 39 year-old Sonia Tatar, a French singer. Rather than go into the sordid details, which
you can certainly find on [.
After all the crazy quotes attributed to the Arsenal midfielder Andrei Arshavin, today we have the
craziest of all. Arsene Wenger said that he was "disappointed" about the Arshavin interview saying
that Barcelona were the best team in the world, and he would love to play for them, even if it was
for just one season.
Transfer rumors in the air:
First off, John Cross from the Mirror, normally a pretty good journalist (so it's not as if this
surfaced on Sport, Metro, or tribalfootball or something) is reporting that when he returns from
his honeymoon, Sol Campbell will re-sign a one-year contract with Arsenal.
If I hadn't read it in the Guardian I would have just laughed, but they have made a serious
accusation against Arsene Wenger. They reckon that the Arsenal manager said after his team's win at
Portsmouth on Wednesday that Chelsea and and Carlo Ancelotti "will drop points and steadily implode
over the remainder of the season [.

Hit the jump for the retro-kick-ass-iness of the new kit:
THAT is what an Arsenal home kit should look like. Red shirt, white sleeves, white collars,
white shorts. That's it. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best home kit in a long time it's
similar to the 2006-2008 home kit, but with red bands at the bottom of the sleeves, no gold
stripes, and wider white collars.

It should have been such a sweet day. Chelsea went down at home to Man City, getting two men

Well, it's kind of a slow news day, but you know me, that won't keep me from getting angry about
something.
Internationals are bullshit. Seriously. I always soften on them when the World Cup or Euros come
around, but then it hardly takes them a month to remind me why they are my single least-favorite
thing about football right now.
As a warning to football hooligans the police are cracking down on thugs ahead of the new football

Tonight feels like the beginning of the rest of the season. While many were nervously
anticipating the United and Chelsea games, matches that brutally exposed our every weakness,
Liverpool are a completely different proposition. While their abilities cannot be discounted,
especially given their improved form, they have neither the winning mentality of United or a
forward who strikes fear into the hearts of our defence as much as Drogba.
