The first big test for Arsenal saw Djourou picked at the back to partner Gallas ahead of Senderos,
whilst Eboue was given a central midfield role, a reversal of what Wenger did with Lauren, a
central midfielder converted to right-back. Adebayor was picked to lead Arsenal's attack
alongside Robin van Persie, whilst Samir Nasri made [.
Arsenal prodigy Carlos Vela scores the match winning goal, as he won with his native Mexico against
the no name side in world football Belize at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas in a World Cup 2010
Qualifying Match. The mexican side had a hard game, because Belize made for their potential a
amazing performance, as [.
There's a lot to talk about after the Birmingham game but its not possible to start with
anything other than the Eduardo injury. I watched the game on Sky and it was hard to say whether
the tackle was bad or not mainly due to the fact that Sky refused to show a replay. I've just seen
the pictures of the tackle on a gooner blog and all I have to say is ANDY GRAY, SKY AND ALEX
MCLEISH, YOU SICKEN ME!
Following three lightweight games, the tempo moves up a gear tonight as Arsenal face German team
VfB Stuttgart and former Arsenal goalkeeper Jen Lehman. Today's game will see a different
team from the previous games as Gallas, Senderos and Djourou are all available to play in defence,
other players vying for a first start are new [.
Carlos Vela finally began his career with Arsenal on Tuesday as the Gunners scrapped a hard fought
draw against Sybonsayi Haladas. Vela, wearing the number 12, partnered Nicklas Bendtner in attack,
and looked composed and ready as Arsenal began with attacking flair. Vela left the fans frustarted
in the early minutes after chesting down Wilshere's cross when [.
After a bit of a blog break, I thought it time to reflect on the past couple of weeks, and talk
about the one thing that really struck me amongst the furore around Theo's international hattrick.
And that was David Bentley's reaction. If you get another chance to see the highlights, take a look
as Walcott [.
Since his arrival at The Arsenal, this man's approach to football has become a religion. He has
left his mark upon everything that is Arsenal, and he is the real example if ever one were needed,
of a living Legend. A master of languages and a supreme tactician, his approach to winning appears
thorough to the extreme.
Same old Same old I am afraid today. That is what we got this afternoon. It happened at Chelsea,
at home and away to Liverpool and once again today. What am I talking about? Well, we produced a
good performance, were arguably the better side but came up short once again. The same reasons have
applied every time.
Hello all, well what a weekend... Cesc Fabregas has been voted the PFA Young Player of the Year,
and very well deserved. Swoonaldo the ManU answer to Rudolfo Divealotski that famous Portugese
ballet dancer, won the PFA award for best moaner, best performer and oh yes, he managed the best
player ever to have done a forward somersault followed by a triple salko with two and a half
twists, and that was after tripping over his boot laces.
Arsenal forward Carlos Vela was giving a statement to the popular Mexican
Television channel (TV Azteca) after the clash with Belize at Houston, Texas. Vela won the game
with his native Mexico finally with 2:0, where he scored the opener after 67 minutes. As well
he was looking forward on Saturday, when Mexico again take on Belize in Monterrey,
Mexico.
Midfield powerhouse Stephen Appiah is set to sort out his club future this week with Premier League
side West Ham now the new favourites to acquire the Ghana international. Appiah, 27, played for
Ghana on Friday evening and came-on after 22 minutes to replace Michael Essien and make his return
to fitness, in his nation's World [.
There's altogether too much doom and gloom going around at the moment, too much criticism of
Wenger's transfer policy by the very same people that praised him for it when the season was
looking rosier. At a time like this, it can be difficult to get past the dissenting voices and
retain a bit of [...
The story of Lassana Diarra is extremely familiar. Disillusioned at Chelsea, he joined Arsenal
in August (still only nine months ago), before complaining about his lack of opportunities and
moving to Portsmouth in January. Within days, he was declaring the south coast club as nothing more
than a stepping stone, a wonderful way to endear yourself [.
I have been saying for some time that I believed Adebayor would be going nowhere this summer. This
was based on two factors - Wenger being reluctant to sell, and Adebayor having more class that to
leave at this point, realising that his future at Arsenal is exceptionally bright.
Unfortunately, it seems like I was wrong, and [.
Fulham defender John Paintsil may regret his horror challenge on Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Eboue
if the FA view television footage of the tackle which occured during the Gunners' surprise 1-0 loss
at Craven Cottage. Several television pundits pointed out that Referee Martin Atkinson was in a
good position to witness the hack-down, despite that, Atkinson failed to [.
Young Mexican forward Carlos Vela has scored in his first competitive start for the Gunners
tonight a hat-trick, as Arsenal destroyed Championship side Sheffield United by six
goals to nill. Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger has named for tonight's Carling
Cup 3rd Round clash, the youngest ever Gunners side to face the Blades,
including the first years scholars Jack Wilshere and Emmanuel Frimpong.
Good Morning and I am back from my unexpected absence due to health reasons, and I would like to
thank Josh for keeping the fort neat and tidy. So much has happened since I last bashed the keys of
my computer keyboard. So if like me, you have been on another planet for the last four days, either
due to the medication or because you have been abroad, let's take stock together of what has been
happening in the world of domestic football in general and The Arsenal in particular.
I have to say that being under the influence of pain killers at the moment doesn't give one a
clear head. What a shame that I didn't do my usual and replies to the guys who kindly tried to rub
my face in it yesterday. Now most of Arsenal land knows that Fabregas the King of InsideArsenal is
no lover of Adebayor.
All of our young strikers on International duty made an impression this week.
Nicklas Bendtner made one goal and scored another in the Denmark victory over Slovenia. The
young Gunner won the penalty and then later headed home the winning goal.
Young Theo Walcott scored a spectacular goal to seal victory for the England 21 side on Tuesday
against a defiant Republic of Ireland side.
This has been a roller coaster few days, and no more obvious than to see, hear and read the
contrasting views of Arsenal fans. Some Blogs have utterly disrespectful towards Le Boss..
One Blog stated:
"Ok I've had since the 16th of February to think about this.
Check out this Nike commercial featuring Cesc Fabregas being lit on fire and juggling. At first
I thought it'd be fake (maybe they switched people) but it seems pretty convincing
Alex Hleb looks set to be the next midfielder to leave the Emirates this summer, according to his
agent, who couldn't have been more clear in his message: "Alexander is preparing to make the
most serious and important moves of his life. He is leaving Arsenal even though they want to offer
him a new long-term [.
What started out as a quiet week for Arsenal turned into a surreal one with the signing of Mikael
Silvestre, but after some monumentally dull internationals it is now back to the real stuff.
And this weekend, we travel to Fulham, a side that traditionally cause us no problems, but of late
have threatened to ruin [.
According to reports, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Ghana midfielder Stephen Appiah. It was reported
that West Ham had also made an offer for the former Fenerbahce midfielder, but Arsene Wenger could
also be on the look out for the experienced stalwart. Appiah is one of the most highly regarded
midfielders in Africa and has been [.
Arsenal midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas admits that he has not let fame get to his head during
recent months; and while the Spanish star may be a European Championship winner with his country,
Fabregas reveals that he's kept his feet firmly on the ground. The 21-year-old started and played
the full 90 minutes in the Gunners' [.
OK, lets start with the health warnings on this blog.
ARSENE WENGER WALKS ON WATER.... alright?
Without Arsene Wenger, the game of football would be a poorer place. Arsene Wenger has
revolutionised the way football is played, he is the consummate professional and a genius.
He has lead this great football team through periods of doubt and in my view he is about to cement
another premiership title.
Arsenal have drawn Liverpool in the quarter finals of the Champions League. The tie is a two
legged affair home and away. The winners of these legs will face Chelsea or Fenerbache in the semi-
finals making for an interesting climax to the competition. There is a real prospect that the
winner of this quarter final will have a good chance of reaching Moscow.
Arsenal's on loan prospect Carlos Vela is under pressure with the Osasunistas, when the side from
coach Jose Angel Ziganda take on Valencia FC on Sunday evening at the Estadio Mestalla.
The Pamplona outfit missed to make a vital step to stay in spanish La Liga last Sunday,
as Vela's side lost their home match against Deportivo La [.
Arsenal Football Club have today confirmed the official Squad numbers for the next season. Vela has
been allocated the number 12 shirt and is now expected to wear it for the first time, when the
Gunners try to safe the Emirates Cup title. Carlos has now finished his adventure with Mexico and
is expected in the next [.
If you read some reports from the last couple of days, you'd think that Arsenal were
doomed - Wenger says all the stars will have to be sold, Hill-Wood expects a hostile takeover, etc
etc etc. Read some more rational reports and you'll see a slightly more realistic outlook. Wenger
was attributed some odd comments by the News [.
Arsenal's array of youngsters was on display on Saturday. There were three absentees, Carlos Vela,
Fran Merida and Kierran Gibbs. The question on every Arsenal fan's lips is which ones will make
next season. These are the ones I think will make the grade next season. Carlos Vela The young
Mexican striker has been earmarked by [.
Arsenal embark on their third pre-season game against a regional select side. As with all games,
the emphasis is on a gradual step up in performance. The game will see most of the players who took
part in the first two game being given another chance to impress Arsene Wenger. Some have taken the
opportunity and [.
Juventus wing star Sebastian Giovinco's agent has denied speculation the 'Old Lady's' midfielder
has held talks with Premier League club Arsenal. Reports in the English media, as well as Arsenal
blogs, claim the 21-year-old has been in touch with the Gunners over a possible move to London.
Contrary to those reports, Giovinco's representative, Andrea D'Amico, insists there [.
Arsenal fans are still reeling from the shock news of yet another Director departing from the
Board of Arsenal Holdings Plc. To lose one director was unlucky, to lose two seems like
carelessness at first glance, until you consider the motives involved. Lady Nina
Bracewell-Smith This lady holds the key to Arsenal's future and there is only one quotation [.
Theo Walcott has started in the last two first team games and been very disapointing. He may
have got the equaliser against Spurs but with the luck he got from this I think Francis Jeffers
would have produced the same end result. His shot was off target and only the ricochet saw it roll
over the line.
Arsenal vs AC Milan in the San Siro, scores level at 0-0 after the first leg and one of the
hardest and most important games so far this season. No British team has won in the San Siro and
right now our form is shaky. Lets be realistic, Milan are favourites to go through to the quarter
finals but it will not be a full gone conclusion.
I am going to make many Arsenal fans deeply unhappy with what I am about to say, but hey... when
did Fabregas the King ever seek to be the most popular Arsenal blogger on the net by supporting
Adebayor?
I have had enough of "The Toganator"... it was so embarrassing to see him rise
unmarked in the twelfth minute of the match against a very poor Reading team, only to see him head
the ball fully five yards past the target.
We may have won this game 2-0 but I could not help being disappointed today. At times today we
showed how well we can play and this performance came on a day when Man Utd dropped points. The
same happened when we drew at home to Liverpool and saw Utd drop points 24 hours later. It showed
me that the title was still there to be won without our stupid slip ups.
It's somewhat a tad depressing to think that we really should be here talking about how we are
going to celebrate a remarkable league triumph rather that start all this analysis (some would say
post mortem) but we unfortunately are where we are. And while most of us would have jumped at the
chance to be in this position at the start of the season (don't forget we were due to struggle to
make it into the UFEA cup positions) I have a real feeling that this was a case of an opportunity
lost.
A number of sources are reporting that midfielder Mathieu Flamini is a serious target of Serie A
club Juventus. He's played well this season, although I think Gilberto Silva should have been given
a bit more time. Rotating players a bit more may have kept other midfielders more fresh this
season.
Gilberto has expressed his desire to stay, but will have a chat with the boss about it.
