Saturday, giving them another opportunity to shine [.
It's that time of year when the Emirates throws its doors open to four of the top teams in Europe

the inaugural tournament last year after a summer that saw players leave and not many coming in

What was billed as a tough awayday in Lancashire ended with a Adebayor hat-trick, an Arsenal win
and a debut for Jack Wilshere. Arsenal started off brightly and it was no surprise that it was
England's hat-trick hero was at the centre of the Arsenal goal. A mazy run,
followed by an inch perfect pass found van Persie [.
It was the youngest team in Arsenal's history, the experience provided by Bendtner, Djourou, Song
and Fabianski, but the young guns came through this Carling Cup tie with full marks. A team awash
with teenagers, but a team with a point to prove, and the Emirates was to witness a masterclass
performance by the team and [.
Following two great away victories and Tuesday's result that is the talk of the media world,
Arsenal entertain Hull City at the Emirates. Arsenal find themselves top of the league, a position
not many believed Arsenal would ever reach this season, and whilst it is still very early in the
campaign, it is a statement [.
Arsenal's second game of the pre-season took place in Hungary. As always with friendlies at the
start of pre-season, it more about players getting into the groove, ironing out bad habits and
getting fit. Club's view the results as secondary. It is a time that allows the fringe and younger
players to impress the boss [.
A sun soaked Emirates greeted players and fans for the first game of the new season. As the
faithful poured in, nobody knew what to expect. By the time the final whistle had been blown
by Harold Webb, despite the victory, there were still many questions unanswered. Wenger opted to
keep Djourou in the team and [.
The trip to Kiev was always going to be a tough one, Arsenal have rarely travelled to the Russia or
Ukraine and got a good result, today was to prove no different. Wenger opted to play Song in
midfield to strengthen this area and it proved to be a shrewd move in the frist half. Almunia

The Carling Cup gets underway on Tuesday with Arsene Wenger continuing his policy of using
youngsters and first team "fringe" players. Wenger sees the Carling Cup an as
opportunity to use the youngsters in first team situations to see how they react and who rises to
the occasion. The results do not matter to Arsene [.
Wenger promised changes following the lacklustre display against Hull, but in the end the only
change was Nasri for Eboue, thus allowing his embattled players one last chance to show what they
are capable of doing. They responded with an emphatic victory and a very good performance.
Arsenal started the match well and could have had [.
The trip to Villa was important for our season, a victory and we will be in with a remote chance of
the title, anything else and it's a straight fight fro 4th place. Injuries to Fabregas,
Djourou and long term absentees Walcott, Eduardo and Rosicky meant we entered the tie with
trepidation. Villa should have [.
A warm July afternoon saw Arsenal kick-off the 2008/09 campaign with a game at Underhill against
League 2 side Barnet. The early exchanges saw Barnet on top with Almunia called upon to make an
early save. Arsenal eventually settled down and started to dominate with early glimpses of Ramsey's
ability on display.

Week two of the Premier League sees the Gunners visit Fulham. We have a good record against
Fulham at the Cottage, having won all bar one of our games. The season started well for
Arsenal with 1-0 win over West Brom, whilst Fulham lost 2-1 to newly promoted Hull City. Roy
Hodgson has been busy over [.
For the second week in a row Arsenal travelled to the North-West to face opponents who have in the
pastr caused us problems. For the secodn week Arsenal have come through a tough challenge and
taken all three points. Arsenal started well, knocking the ball around with confidence.
Bolton looked to be hanging on, whne on [.
To say this was a bad day at the office, will be a lie and letting the players off lightly.
This was a disaster with too many players under performing and Wenger making a couple of mistakes.
Wenger resorted to Adebayor and van Persie up front, that was a mistake, neither was on the ball
all [...]
After Saturday's disappointment, the plus points are that Wenger has promised changes and we do not
have to wait long to see what the team's reaction will be. Samir Nasri is back in the squad
and hopefully he will start on the left. It will be great to see Nasri and Walcott tearing
defences apart.
Tomorrow sees Arsenal take on Dynamo Kiev in the first game of the group stages of the Champions
League in Kiev. Dynamo are not the power that they used to be, but the game will not easy.
Away from home, expect Arsenal to play a more defensive shape with van Persie dropping further into
midfield giving [.
Arsenal travel to the Stadium of Light for what promises to be a tight and hard encounter. The
Black Cats have invested heavily in the summer transforming their team, and any team that has Roy
Keane associated with it will never crumble. Arsenal have had successful trips up to the Stadium of
Light in recent [.
A last minute header by Fabregas saved Arsenal's blushes and earned them a well deserved point.
Wenger dropped Nasri and played three in midfield with Song adding extra muscle, whilst van
Persie and Walcott played out wide, leaving Adebayor on his own up front. Sunderland were
intent on getting a point and packed the midfield.
This was a game of two halves and one influential player. The first half saw an abject
performance from Arsenal, Song was preferred at right back to Eboue, this says more about Wenger's
faith in Eboue than Song's ability to play right-back. Arsenal were poor in the first half,
falling behind to a goal from Osman, [.
Arsenal travelled to Chelsea with the world on our backs, another defeat and it would be the end of
Arsenal's small title hopes. Three players returned for the clash, Sagna, Nasri and Adebayor, but
more significantly, Djourou was chosen ahead of Silvestre by Wenger for his speed and height. The
game started with Chelsea fastest out [.
Arsenal drew with Liverpool, a result that suited Liverpool more than Arsenal and leaves Arsenal in
a very precarious position, not only as far the title is concerned but our attempt at securing a
top four finish. Liverpool stated well and played the ball around, but Arsenal soon got into
their groove.
