Morning all.
We'd best start with the bad news this morning and that's Jack Wilshere. He's suffered a 'little
setback' according to Arsene Wenger and although the manager was obviously trying to play it down a
bit, saying he couldn't put a timeframe on it because Jack has to see consultants, the fear is that
this could keep him out for at least 6-8 weeks, if not the rest of the season.
A bit of injury news from around the Premier League as we tinker with our teams this holiday
weekend. Phil Jones could play on Boxing Day against Wigan. Manchester United could really use him.

Still, at least there's some light at the end of the tunnel, if not much in the way of news yet.
The final round of internationals take place tonight and once they're out of the way they we can
concentrate on the real football again. Of course, the Premier League being what it is, they've
scheduled our game for Sunday so we've an extra day to wait but I guess there's not much we can do
about that.
Jack Wilshere is out long term with an ankle problem. Gervinho and Alex Song are still suspended.
Theo Walcott has a tight hamstring. And Thomas Vermaelen is now out for another few months. Perhaps

So, here we are after a long, long off-season getting ready for the new one to begin. Just a
working week away from our first game of the season.
There are many adjectives you could use about this summer, none of them terribly positive. In
fact, the most positive thing about this summer is that it's almost over.
After today's game our next fixture is on April 2nd against Blackburn at home. The last few
weeks have been mildly traumatic so it's hugely important that we get things back on track
today.
The idea of going through the Interlull with a painful result at the Hawthorns to go over again
and again really doesn't appeal.
The Premier League's most in-form player, Robin van Persie, has suffered a hamstring injury.
