The abuse I've seen thrown at Aaron Ramsey lately has been a sick joke.
Some of it has even bordered on things I wouldn't even wish on my worst enemy.
I couldn't believe my eyes at some of the stuff I've seen. I mean death threats?! Over a game of
football?! Come on behave yourself.
There's something in the air at The Emirates Stadium. Arsenal Football Club has had a difficult
2012 so far, and patience for some, at least is starting to wear thin, leading to a protest that
has brought puzzled expressions from elsewhere. At this lunchtime's match against Blackburn Rovers
in the Premier League, a group of supporters plans to place black bin bags on seats at the ground
prior to the match.
Me and the machines
First of 2 trips to Wearside, starting with the league match tonight and the FA Cup the
following week. Beginning of a very important 7 days for Arsenal Football Club according to Arsene
Wenger. 3 matches that will decide our season. An European cup tie against AC Milan sandwiched in
between 2 meetings with Martin O'Neill's Sunderland.
THFC1882 welcomes another guest post by Anthony Lombardi, this one may have
some foaming at the mouth:
WHY SPURS NEED ARSENAL TO BE BETTER
As Arsenal succumbed to a humiliating 4-0 Champions League thrashing by AC Milan at the San
Siro, a rather surprising thought came to me:
Should we really be celebrating the demise of Arsenal Football Club?
3 Lungs
While I'm sure the players are glad for the extra days of rest, it's a sentiment not shared by
Arsenal fans all around the world. Frankly, we've missed them already. Tomorrow could not come any
quicker. There's several things surrounding the QPR match.
First of all, it will be the anniversary of David Rocastle's death.
There are no excuses, yesterday we were outplayed and outfought by a newly promoted side, as
Swansea beat us 3-2 to seriously dent our hopes of making the top four.
The penalty decision was questionable, yes, but as has been the problem recently, we were not up
for this game at all.
I am finding it very hard to come to terms with the fact that one of the top men on the board of
Arsenal football Club is not bothered whether Arsenal qualify for the Champions League or not, and
I am shocked by the implications of Peter Hill-Wood's words. Most Arsenal fans are aware that [...]
In May of 2011, a sort of palace coup was engineered at the Emirates with the two remaining
substantial shareholdings of Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith going to Stan Kroenke and
in effect Kroenke was anointed the new "emperor" of Arsenal Football Club. Except the Russian
billionaire Alisher Usmanov refused to play ball and increased his holding in the club too!
Six years ago to this very day, Theo Walcott signed for Arsenal Football Club at the age of just
16-years old. The teenager, who had set the Football League Championship and the south coast alight
whilst playing for Southampton, was signed by Arsene Wenger just a couple of months before his 17th
birthday.
Instead of a preview, I thought I'd look at some classic Arsenal matches against this week's
opponents. And when those opponents are Man Utd, there's a lot of games to choose from. So, rather
than one game, I thought I'd look at a whole season: 2004-2005. That year, we played United in
three games that can genuinely be described as epic (we also opened the season by beating them in
the Charity Shield).
For the first time in five years we have now lost three Premiership matches in a
row.
I am starting this story now Tuesday evening the 17th where the thoughts of last nights radio
conversation on Talksports Drivetime between Adrian Durham and Ray Parlour are still fresh in my
mind.
Citroën UK and Arsenal Football Club have produced a series of cinemagraphs, subtly animated
images, featuring New Citroën DS5 and first team players Mikel Arteta, Laurent Koscielny and Robin
van Persie.
The first two months of the season were awful, the atmosphere was angry, unsettled and going to
watch the team wasn't at all pleasant. The atmosphere eased after a good run of results, putting us
well back into contention for the Champions League places.
A new year run that has yet to see us win in the league has heralded the return of that
atmosphere, a portion of the fanbase have been very forward with their views on the manager and a
few of the players an injury crisis has not helped matters either all in all, being an Arsenal fan
in the past few weeks has not been the most pleasant of experiences.
Make no mistake about it, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has created a buzz amongst Gooners that is only
comparable with Charlie Sheen mangled on Tigerblood.
The boy has burst onto the scene in explosive fashion since making his first league start for
Arsenal against Manchester United last month.
It's only mid-February but we're already perilously close to what The Flight of the Concords would
call 'Business Time'. By that, I don't mean Arsenal football club are going to wine and dine our
opponents, and then take them back to the Emirates for some 'business' - I apologise if this is
getting a little weird - I mean that we're coming up to the real make-or-break period of the
season.
Time to upgrade his statue to silver
If you're a Arsenal fan today, you'll be buzzing. Nothing beats coming from behind and winning
by scoring in the final minute of the game. Especially when it's an away game and we weren't firing
on all cylinders. Especially when the winning goal was scored by one of the club's greatest ever
player.
That was the kind of performance that just sums up where Arsenal Football Club has been going wrong
for the last few months. The effort was there but there just wasn't enough quality to open up a
stubborn Sunderland defence. It was a very even game, we had plenty of the ball and did knock it
around reasonably at times, there just wasn't enough in the final third in terms of incision and
end
The respected English broadsheet The Telegraph seems to have a contact close to the Arsenal Board
and they keep printing very interesting articles about what is happening in the higher echolons of
Arsenal Football Club. Today they are relating that their Arsenal source is very definite that
Arsene Wenger will definitely be given MORE than [.
A great deal has been written about the perceived troubles at our
beloved club, almost seven years without a trophy, the inability to retain our best players, the
difficulty in signing top drawer talent and moving on the under-performing squad members.

All of the above are valid reasons for some fans to feel aggrieved and to call for change or in
some cases even revolution.

A year ago today, everything seemed rosy in the land of Arsenal Football Club.
We had just beaten Barcelona in the Champions League, joining only a handful of clubs who have
managed to defeat one of the best club sides every assembled. We still appeared to have an outside
chance of winning the title.
The one that got the ball roling
He's 5 foot 4, He's 5 foot 4, Thank you Arshavin, ...... Adebayor
Is one of the many variations of the song that would probably get some time during the derby
tomorrow. Andrey Arshavin has returned to Zenit St Petersburg on loan until the rest of the season
and we have probably seen the last of seen in an Arsenal shirt.
MONEY by SV Money. It is, unfortunately, the crux upon which the modern game depends. Arsenal
Football Club has a reputed solid financial structure, perhaps a unique one, which will fare most
bad (financial) weather in the coming years. The fans however, completely understandably, want some
of tomorrow's money to be invested today.
morning in Dubai
As a football fan, one is dedicated to the club that he pledges to. Mine is Arsenal Football
Club and has been that way for 19 years now. Compared that to what Chelsea fans have witness, I've
only ever had 3 managers in my years of supporting this great club. I feel very privileged
indeed.
Arsene Wenger will take Arsenal to play Hong Kong Champions Kitchee FC at the HK Stadium on
Sunday, July 29, as part of the club's Asia Tour 2012.
The club says the game will give the Gunners' huge fan base in Hong Kong the opportunity to
see AW's team play live ahead of the 2012/2013 season.
Indesit Football Talents: four great teams, 64 players,
and a final at Emirates Stadium.
64 winners will be selected by the online community and a jury
including Arsenal, AC Milan, Paris Saint Germain and Shakhtar. On 15 May 2012, four 16-man squads
will compete at Emirates Stadium.
The elderly, grand-looking gent sat in the first class train carriage had almost a regal air
about him. I'd noticed him and his companion, a woman his equal in age and eminence, as I made my
way to the toilet as the old slam-door rattler ferried me and my Dad home from the Arsenal.
I was a cocky, inquisitive 10-year-old so when, as I walked back past, he beckoned me in to the
Southern Railways sanctum of the posh I had little hesitation in accepting.
Right at home
Trophy, that's where we will start today. Robin Van Persie has started the ball rolling by
winning the first of many trophies to come for Arsenal Football Club. Fine, it's an individual
award but he did achieved it while playing for us and without the support of his team mates, he
wouldn't have won this trophy.

There can be little doubt that Arsene Wenger has enjoyed a love affair with Arsenal since he
arrive in northLondonall those years ago.
But it is a fact of life that one day he will either move upstairs or call it a day and we must
find a replacement for the Emirates hotseat. And, yes, after a seven-year trophy hiatus there are
many frustrated Arsenal fans out there who have called for his head.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has spoken of his delight after completing the protracted capture
of Germany striker Lukas Podolski from Cologne.
Podolski will join the Gunners in the summer after agreeing personal terms and passing a
medical. No word yet on the transfer fee.
Wenger said: "We are delighted to secure the deal for Lukas and see him as an important part of
our future.
Many of today's headlines have been dedicated to Arsenal completing the capture of Germany
striker Lukas Podolski, who will join the Gunners next season after trying to save his current club
Cologne from Bundesliga relegation.
Podolski was linked with a transfer to the North London club a few weeks ago but dismissed the
speculation to focus on Cologne's struggles.
Yesterday Arsene Wenger made it quite clear we were a team that was far too reliant on the goals
of Robin van Persie.
Yesterday Arsene Wenger said there was nothing we could do about it until the end of the season
and he urged the captain to drag us over the line into third place.
Yesterday, he did something about it, for next season at least, by finalising the signing of
Lukas Podolski from Cologne.
What he really wants. Trophies, not a return to Holland
After knowing that he has won the award for almost a week now, Robin Van Persie finally went to
receive it. During the glittering ceremony, RvP also spoke about his love for Arsenal Football
Club. The headline in that link will read as "but that doesn't mean he'll stay".
Ray Parlour believes Steve Bould can give Arsenal fresh impetus and provide Gunners players with
the inspiration to get back amongst the silverware next season.
Arsenal have confirmed that assistant manager Pat Rice will be leaving the club at the end of
the season, with youth team coach Bould named as Arsene Wenger's new No.
Firstly, I would like to thank Pat Rice for everything he has done for Arsenal Football Club.
He has been at Arsenal so long that he is part of the furniture. And the shorts. Oh those shorts.
It will be strange not seeing Pat buzzing round the technical area in them shorts, that's for
sure.
Steve Bould has replaced him as Arsene Wenger's number 2, a move that was possibly the worst kept
secret since Harry Redknapp was announced as the new England manag.
Recently Arsenal signed 26 year old German striker Lukas Podolski. This signing has culminated
in positivity in the Arsenal camp, and has possibly put to bed the criticism of conservative
signings by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
Early signings in Wenger's tenure are almost unheard of.
Destroyed by days of corporate football
A good Friday to you. 2 more days before our last game of the season. Depending on where you
stand on the European Championship, it's not going to be a very long and arduous break between
football. Plenty to discuss so we might as well just jump into it.
Guess it's about time to do a review of the season. Having thought about it, numerous ways to do
it. Luckily, Arsenal's official website came up with the numbers which is exactly what I'm basing
the review on. All statistics used will be denoted by number in brackets.
Third in the Premier League, last 16 of the Champions League, 6th round of the FA Cup and
quarter finals of the Carling Cup.
