Due to a recent spell of bad results in the Premier League and the relentless complaining of our
fans, we are now looking for a new Manager.
During the reign of Arsène Wenger, Arsenal won three League Championships, Four FA Cups,
achieved the cult-status of the Invincibles for a 49-games spell of not getting beat, reached the
CL final, played in the CL for 14 consecutive seasons, played a brand of football envied all over
the world, and moved successfully to a brand new stadium, whilst keeping the club in a healthy
financial position.

Much has been said about the perceived success (or lack of it), of Wenger's ‘Project Youth',
particularly since the move to the Emirates. Arsenal Football Club are now seen as standard bearers
in the development of young professional footballers. But is this accolade warranted or is it a
misnomer?
Big responsibility on his shoulders
Time to wipe the slate clean. Not something which can be easily said, especially when the season
has already been under way for a couple of weeks. However, that is also precisely the reason why we
could regard this upcoming weekend's match as the start "of the star" of the season for Arsenal
Football Club.
Another chance for Coquelin to show his stuff, albeit in a less pressure match that his last
away trip
Carling Cup returns to action tonight. I have to admit, this is a competition which I do enjoy
and look forward to each season. Perhaps the biggest reason is how Arsene Wenger has chose to use
this competition.

As a Liverpool fan, you could be forgiven for not being surprised that I'm glad to see Arsenal
lose their 'star' players. But honestly, it's not what you think. My concern is more for the
behaviour of footballers... and the lack of respect with which Arsenal Football Club has been
treated by many of it's players.
The front page of Arsenal.com today is a picture of a thoughtful, if slightly pensive, and
perhaps vaguely constipated, Arsene Wenger, with the headline "I could write a book on this
summer". Heh, no shit. He said:
I think it would quite be an interesting one. Not because of me but because of all that
happened, it was quite unbelievable.
All of our new boys
Big game today for Arsenal Football Club. Just like it was with the Udinese game, this clash
with Swansea is another big one. Not because of the size of the opponent but more because of the
timing of the match.
This is the first match since the drubbing to Manchester United.
What is worse? Admitting that the professional players lack the level of focus and application
to apply simple football theory of defending, or implementing a new defensive routine with a back
four formation that is itself new in compostion from game to game? Which ever the case, what I have
long predicted in countless blogs, is that Arsene Wenger's legacy will be permanently damaged if he
fails to take account of a few basic home truths.
Being a Gooner these days is becoming a very frustrating time.
It seems to me that Arsenal fans are torn more than a Michael Owen hamstring.
The Arsenal faithful appear to be at each others throats and it is a sight more disturbing than
watching Harry Redknapp perform a lap dance.
Good afternoon, readers. It's been a while...
Sorry for the recent lack of inactivity. Generally, life has thrown me some rather challenging
obstacles lately and in turn, I've had to deal with them accordingly. Everything seems to be back
on track now, and it seems that normal service can finally resume, once again.

You can (obviously) believe everything you read at Pies, but as for everywhere else, don't
believe a word. "Sport" magazine caused a bit of a furore recently when they printed an interview
with Barcelona new-boy Cesc Fabregas, in which the former Arsenal captain was quoted as saying that
he left the Gunners as they had no chance of winning a trophy in the foreseeable future.
Mr Ivan Gazidis Chief Executive The Arsenal Football Club Highbury House 75 Drayton Park London N5
1BU 21 September 2011 Dear Mr Gazidis I am very surprised at your recent comments regarding Mr
Wenger. Your statement about the board supporting Mr Wenger and not having any intention of
replacing him was very noble of you.
The news that the annual shareholder Q&A has been postponed is a disastrous PR move by the club,
and just confirms to me that those who are running the club have double standards. Last time I
looked, the annual Q&A was a vehicle which prevented the AGM from descending into farce with
shareholder's questions from the floor heaping embarrassment upon the Board members present.

No need for introduction and that sort. Plenty to get through today, might as well just get
right to it. Ivan Gazidis spoke at the Sport Industry Breakfast Club on Tuesday and some of things
said were interesting. However, as a disclaimer, being a savvy businessman, we've got to take what
he said with a pinch of salt.

Arsenal Football Club have released the below statement on the Club's official website concerning
midfielder Jack Wilshere: Jack Wilshere will undergo surgery on his right ankle on Monday morning.
Wilshere has recently been wearing a protective boot ...
Welcome to TGIF, Thank Gooner it's Friday, which was derailed by a major computer crash courtesy
of Microsoft windows 7 Ultimate, which even they were unable to fix. But seeing as it Saturday,
perhaps I should use Berg10's suggestion of TGIS! TGIt's Saturday? There is so with so much going
on in the world at the moment, but I am going to concentrate yet again upon the plight of Arsenal
Football Club and it's beleaguered Board, as they retreat into the Laager.

Looking for alternatives
Injuries once again hog the headlines with regards to Arsenal Football Club. I know it happens
to every single club and not only to ours. The feeling for us though is the only one I care about.
Every single season since the last major trophy that we won, our squad has been besieged with
injuries, not just those minor ones but also long term ones.
