Mmm, that is about as good as a modern kit with a sponsor's logo gets. It almost makes me
jealous of Arsenal fans who get to wear it. Almost.
The PR eco waffle: "Every shirt is made entirely from recycled polyester, crafted from up to
eight plastic water bottles as part of Nike's ‘Considered Design' programme, which sees discarded
plastic bottles diverted from landfills to be used in the manufacturing process.

Arsenal's new kit is a throwback to the 70′s and comes with a block red body with a white
round neck collar, and white sleeves. In an interview, Alex Song was quoted as saying,
I watched Arsenal on TV lots when I was young and just saw red and white.

Just what we need to hear from one of Arsenal fans favourites. Robin says it's time to get
tough and get in the faces of the opposition. We need to do unto others what they so love to do to
us. Play the pretty football, yes, but when the chips are down, put the pretty stuff on the back
burner and start showing some grit and steel.
...but off it, the football world celebrates complete incompetence and negligence.
Following the defeat at Chelsea I decided to give myself a little time to mull things over. A
chance to let the hysteria die down. Losing the last game before the international break gives
everyone two weeks to dwell on the shortcomings – in our case that we're still unable to rough it
against tough tacklers, that we flatter to deceive against the Mancs and Chelsea, and that Wenger's
refusal to ‘buy big' means we haven't won a trophy in five seasons, obviously.

Yep, it's that time of year again folks. Manchester United or, on this occasion, Chelsea, are
touring their respective city in an open top bus showing off the Premier League trophy once again.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are insisting that next year will be their year and their first title in
decades whilst Arsenal have fallen away at the business end of the season and spent the last few
weeks glancing nervously over their shoulder for threats to their Champions League Place.
I've always found it somewhat impossible to dislike Xavi. He looks like he should be bagging
your groceries, and yet he's the finest midfielder of his generation and a genuine aesthete, which
is something of a rarity in football today.
However, it appears his second job, that of Barca mouthpiece, is becoming slightly less amusing
by the day, as the Catalan wagons continue to circle around Arsenal.
All football fans, across the planet, love a player in their team who does nothing but terrorise
the opposition, literally bully the life out them.
Harass the opponent, chase him down, force a mistake... and if all else fails, smash him to the
ground.
In 18-year-old Frimpong, we have a cast iron certainty of a future fans favourite, the kid is
100% assured to be the dominant midfielder in our team for years to come.
As a warning to football hooligans the police are cracking down on thugs ahead of the new football
season, and they have scored their first success against two Tottenham "fans". Danny Scriven, 26,
and Kali Hagenstede, 21, were amongst a gang of more than 20 hooligans who attacked Arsenal fans as
they drank in The George, [.
Karl Henry did Wolves and Mick McCarthy no favors on Saturday when his late tackle on Jordi
Gomez resulted in a straight red card and left Wolverhampton Wanderers with ten men.
In the video of the tackle (see above), you can see how Henry's hit sent the Spaniard flying
into the air.
After Arsenal's home humiliation against Man Utd yesterday hit home, the fans have come out in
protest against Arsene Wenger's refusal to spend some of the massive profits he has made from
selling his best players in the last few years. The transfer window closes today, and Wenger has
already stated there will be no new [.
Given that Arsene Wenger revealed that he was the sole reason the Arsenal manager didn't go out
and buy a ready-made replacement for Manchester City bound Emmanuel Adebayor in the summer, that
the Arsenal manager sees many similiarities between him and former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler
and that the 20 year old Mexican has been hailed as one of the brightest young footballers in the
world for several years now, many Arsenal fans must be wondering when Carlos Vela is going to be
given a chance to stake a claim for a regular place in the first team.
There is talk that Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur could be playing
friendlies in the United States this summer. It's music to my ears and I'm sure many other soccer
fans in America. But while teams in the past such as Chelsea, Everton and others have tried to
conquer the States, they all have come up short so far and haven't maximized the level of success
that's possible.
"Firstly I would like to apologise to all the Arsenal fans for not speaking sooner about my future
but I have not known what I was going to do until this moment."I cannot deny that joining a club
like Barcelona was not an attractive move for me. This was the club where I learnt my football, it
is my home town where my friends and family are and a club where I have always dreamed of playing.
Arsene Wenger gave an interview about Paul Scholes offering plenty of praise, claiming he wished
he played for Arsenal and that he has been integral to United's success over almost two
decades.
Wenger was then asked whether he thought Scholes was a fair player. I think any United fan would
be happy to admit that Scholes' tackling can be suspect at times, with him flying in on an opponent
and not always coming away with the ball.

Boooooooooooof! Now THAT'S a volley. Arsenal fans may wonder why Eduardo never hit one like that
for their team. The closest he came was this inventive volley against Burnley:
Hello 2010. Hello readers. Pies is back in the saddle, a couple of pounds heavier (thanks
poutine) but no less motivated. So, no messing, first up this year we have some breaky news for
you. Arsenal fans, prepare to weep into your Fair Trade muesli...
My Spanish is sketchy at best I can say "Dos cervezas por favor" in a reasonably convincing
accent but even I can understand the latest headline in Spanish rag AS, which announces with some
confidence that Arsenal midfield starlet Fran Merida has signed for Atletico
Madrid (the club he supported as a kid).
Ther is lots of Arsenal transfer news about today, and the one that has shocked Arsenal fans the
most (from looking at the blogs) is the news that Sol Cambell has been signed on a temporary
contract until the end of the season. I have seen various figures relating to his paypacket, but it
seems [...]

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the Arse fans who sent in their appreciation of
my post. Buoyed by their response I would like to give them back a second installment of my
thoughts on yesterdays match.
Editor's note: EPL Talk reader Nicholas Buchel shared a series of three drawings he made
that I should many of you would enjoy. The first features Fernando Torres who returned to action
Sunday against Manchester City. The above picture is hand drawn in ballpoint by Nicholas. Below the
fold, Buchel has included a ballpoint drawing of Emmanuel Adebayor (when he was with Arsenal) as
well as a drawing of Wayne Rooney.

Germany's Per Mertesacker climbs higher than Tim Cahill at the 2010 World Cup
I wonder why many Gooners seem to be getting wet in the pants area over the rumour that their
club will sign German centre-back Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen.
Not sure how many of you saw this or not, but there's a new initiative designed to increase
investment in and influence over the club. For a number of reasons, I have to say I'm
skeptical:
The program is called Arsenal Fanshare, and it's an initiative launched by the people at the

Arsene Wenger says, "It's Arsenal's title to win." And I agree. The stage is well and truly set
for the second Act of the season and it's up to the manager to direct and the players to
perform.

With a fully fit squad, Wenger's young and exciting side have, at times, looked against the
pre-season odds like real title contenders.
Nicklas Bendtner made his long awaited comeback in an Arsenal shirt yesterday evening at Villa

we're delighted to see him back with " super, super nick" ringing around the away end of the
ground.
Bacary Sagna touched upon a topic that could be described as Wenger's Achilles' Heel. Here is
what the French full back said,
Sometimes I think we play too much, We just want to do that and do not think about what is good
for us sometimes we just need to cut out the football, stop playing for a bit and just consider
what will help us achieve what we want.
Beaten Arsenal and Chelsea. Next up, Brokeback United.
Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I think this is a game that we can win. Manchester
United are nowhere near their best and I believe, as do some of the Spurs lads, that we can go up
to Old Trafford and get a win. As long as the ref isn't their twelth man of course!
From a footballing point of view there isn't much left to look forward to as far as Arsenal fans
are concerned . The couple of games left are mostly academic in nature. The season-end autopsy and
transfer madness will get into top gear only after these games and that puts us in a state of
limbo.
At such a time this Champions League semi-final clash comes as a respite.
Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear the news that manager Arsene Wenger has finally admitted he

Ain't it quite strange? When I wrote the match report for the Valladoid vs Barca match, many here
thought that ideally would be my last post for the next two months. With my experience with
previous transfer season, I knew that wasn't the case. The truth simply is that the real
entertainment off the pitch starts the moment the transfer window opens or in other words when the
season ends.
This has been one of my internet, blog world, pet hates for a while.
