CESC FABREGAS has pleaded with boss Arsene Wenger to sign a midfield hardman.
Arsenal skipper Fabregas misses tough-tackling Mathieu Flamini who quit the Gunners last summer
for AC Milan and has not been replaced.
Hi everyone hope you've had good weeks up to this point and will be looking forward to the
Celtic game tonight to probably see a few young guns in action.
But what has caught my eye today is a few journalists predicting Arsenal to be in action on
transfer deadline day and throughout the week prior to it, I'll explain:
The Dail Mirror's Football Spy
From his insider knowledge or it could be what he just made up he is predicting 2 Arsenal moves
in the last week of the transfer window:
Blaise Matuidi
This story has ran for ages and you all know who he is by now so I won't bother with huge
details but he's a Defenesive Midfielder with a great talent.
Arsene Wenger agreed a £10million deal for Ajax centre-back Thomas Vermaelen yesterday but is
still unsure about who will partner him at the heart of Arsenal's defence next season.
Though his agent Soren Lerby was still negotiating personal terms last night, Vermaelen seems
certain to sign a four-year contract at The Emirates after convincing the Arsenal manager he has
the credentials to shore up a defence that was repeatedly found wanting last season.
Well what a dissapointing end to a good start! Typical Arsenal; control the game and then score
but don't take advantage, by scoring another goal when on top. Then stupidity from Almunia allows
an equaliser, then I'm not even gonna try to explain Diaby's actions. What was he thinking?
Although Almunia was to blame again, he should of collected the ball from the cross.
Today has been quite a day for news stories reporting Arsenal FC; there has been transfer news,
Wenger's quote's about various issues and stupid newspaper columnists sledging us over and over
again. But let's calm down.
News reports on Huntelaar
It has been clear knowledge for a day now that Huntelaar is not keen on a mover to Stuggart even
though Real have agreed a fee.
Hello everyone, you may be thinking where am I coming from with the headline, after the
devastating loss to Manchester United on Saturday but you have to look at things in a rounded way
as I shall explain below:
The Loss versus Man United
Yes firstl;y we lost the game and probably should and deserved to win it, but let's not dwell on
that.
Goals:
Van Persie, Diaby and Arshavin
Good news for hopeful Arsenal fans; Portsmouth have accepted a bid for Peter Crouch from
Tottenham Source Sky Sports. This must surely mean that Redknapp has ruled himself out of signing
Huntelaar which could be a major breakthrough in our so called attempts to sign him.
With no other known competition Wenger now may be much more inclined to make a bid and sign
him.
The Sun and a variety of other newspapers this morning are reporting a huge story for many
Arsenal fans. Arsene Wenger has apparently matches spurs offer to the 33 year old; A one year
contract with many bonuses although he shall have to take a pay cut from £80,000 a week to a much
lower salary.
Wenger needs to bring in experienced players after Toure departed and we lost so many two
seasons back but he believes Patrick Viera could do a great job for us.
A great day for Arsenal and especially 17 year old Jack Wilshere who scored a brace as well as
Eduardo with another clinical finish!
REMEMBER:
THIS YEAR ARSENAL-HIGHLIGHTS.CO.UK HAS A FANTASY LEAGUE RUNNING:

WINNERS! ROBBIE KEANE PLUS TOTTENHAM EQUAL LOSERS!!!
Robin van Persie's contract expires in summer 2011 and the club has been locked in contract
negotiations all season. The club appeared to have offered the Dutch striker £75,000 a week, but
van Persie is stalling over signing a new contract.
There was talk earlier that he wanted a buyout clause, which was as low as €5 million.
What an opener! In my wildest dreams I didn't expect us to whack in 6 v Everton. I'm super happy
even though I had a rubbish day of personal sport behind me, but I won't bore you with that.
Here's the highlights, I will find an improved quality version as soon as possible but that's it
for now:

Ryan Babel a long-time Arsenal fan and who a couple of years ago spent the whole summer pleading
form Wenger to sign him has been told by Benitez that he can leave. Liverpool will be looking at a
price in the region of £11 million.
Babel has been a peripheral figure at Anfield in the last two seasons making only 42 starts, but
still scoring 14 goals.
Goalkeeper alert as Robert Green has refused to sign a new contract at West Ham. Green is 29
years old and will be looking to cement a place in Capello's England squad over the next two
internationals.
The position of goalkeeper is one that Wenger has never really filled since the departure of
Seaman.
Fran Merida joined Arsenal in the summer of 2006 after an amazing disappearing act! Merida
spent over a year away from the Nou Camp in a plan devised by his agent to ensure that he did not
sign a new contract with Barcelona.
The coaches at Arsenal were and still are highly impressed by young Spaniard.
Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos is reported to have agreed a switch to Everton.
The Swiss centre-half has slipped down the pecking order at Emirates Stadium in recent times,
and spent the 2008/09 season on loan at AC Milan.
Despite the Gunners having offloaded Kolo Toure to Manchester City this summer,Arsene
Wenger has moved to snap upThomas Vermaelen from Ajax.
Today has been a big day for Arsenal; We are to face Celtic in Champions league qualifying which
as "harregas the gooner" said on the post below is very ironic and many transfer stories have
stated prevailing in the last few hours, so the papers should be full of them tomorrow.
Arsenal to up Chamakh bid
The Daily Mail is saying Wenger will up his bid for the Moroccan forward to £7.
Arsene Wenger has made a fresh move for St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi after fearing Cesc
Fabregas is facing an injury lay-off.
Arsenal captain Fabregas, 22, faces a race to be fit for Saturday's trip to Manchester United
and could be out for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Hello people, hopefully you will have a good Bank Holiday Monday and spend it wisely.
Not that much on transfer gossip this morning apart from what was said yesterday about Chamakh
and Viera. One small bit about Blaise Matuidi and how St Etienne want £8 million and how Wenger
will not pay that, but that's a very small story in the general scheme of things.
Good times lay ahead, we know that anyway. But.... Good times could be 99% assured this
season should we sign two players this January. I know it is a while off January at this time
but I'm sure Wenger is already looking ahead so shy shouldn't we. I'm not gonna mention the papers
because as soon as the window shuts they are looking for the next window moves, but anyway.
With Fabregas out injured for three months, we were going to be lacking creativity in the
team. It took Arsene 15 minutes against Portsmouth and 45 minutes against Plymouth to
re-arrange the formation. We became more effective once Nasri came to play behind the strikers.
Nasri as with Hleb and Rosicky are more effective playing a [.
At the start of the season Alex Song was regarded as a last resort for the central midfield
berth. He had not shown much over the last few seasons to change people's opinions. In fact
when he did play this season there was more frustration than elation over his performances.
The good displays were few a far between, but when Alex played well, then he stood out.
Kolo Toure is having a medical in Manchester City hospital (excuse me if that is not the proper
name) after pictures of him arriving were shown on Sky Sports news.
Skysports.com understands that Toure has agreed a four-year deal with the Eastlands
club and his signing could be confirmed within the next 24 hours, or even today if the medical is
swift.
A pretty poor end to our very good pre-season, nobody played to their potential yesterday but
this is only a pre-season game and things still look very promising for the campaign ahead.Ars
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is not prepared to send Fran Merida out on loan this season.
The 19-year-old Spaniard enjoyed a short spell back in his homeland in the 2007/08 campaign
after being allowed to join Racing Santander.
There had been talk of a similar deal being struck this summer, with the teenage midfielder keen
to experience regular first-team football.
A decent game in which we won without really trying! Hopefuly our Carlign Cup Boys will beat
West Brom on Tuesday in the same or better style.

You only come to see Eboue the Arsenal fans chant as the Ivorian comes off the bench. Once
upon a time this would be sung with a pinch of sarcasm.
One of Eboue's low points this season, and there have been many, came against Wigan, when
nothing could go right, culminating in the fans booing him and eventually Wenger had to substitute
him to protect the player.
TEAM NEWS
Arsenal's Eduardo is over the groin strain that made him a late withdrawal from the bench against
Celtic but Theo Walcott still has a back problem.
Manager Arsene Wenger could field the same starting XI for the third consecutive match.
Portsmouth trio Steve Finnan, Hermann Hreidarsson and Papa Bouba Diop are all out with hamstring
injuries, with the latter facing six weeks out.
A good game for us although I was disappointed in Eduardo with a clear dive which gained us a
penalty. We are a much better team than stooping to that level and we could win without blatant
cheating, so I hope Wenger will tell the players to cut it out and play properly. Anyway, we are
through with 2 goals which were fair and today we could be drawn against real Madrid or Inter
Milan!
Hello people!. It's the day many people have waited for; Transfer deadline day. Now I expect at
least 2 signing for Arsenal today but we'll have to wait and see I'll keep you posted.

Arsenal-highlights.co.uk has teamed up with Hamlyn Book Publishers to offer you
two new Arsenal books, not even released to the public worth a combined £30!
Johan Djourou is facing up to six months on the sidelines after undergoing a knee operation.
The Arsenal defender went under the knife in Geneva on Friday, with the Swiss football
federation confirming the procedure had been carried out on their official website.
The 22-year-old had been hoping to push for a regular starting berth with the Gunners this
season, following the summer sale of Kolo Toure to Manchester City.
Hello people hope you all are having good days without any Arsenal news because it has been very
boring for a few days on the Arsenal front, due to the international breaks no doubt. But before I
go into that there is some positive news regarding Walcott:
The official website has said he is due to back after this weeks international break versus
Croatia but in my opinion I doubt he will figure against Man City, seeming the importance of the
game and risking him would not be worth it.
Hello people, I am still feeling bad over our loss to Man City yesterday and this has left me
thinking about our current situation as a whole. I have already, a few weeks ago voiced my feelings
over Wenger and how he should of and needed buy, and how he didn't so today I am going to tell you
what will be of Arsenal next year, so read on:
The overall result of this season when it ends:
In the league we will finish fourth with either Man City or Liverpool being a close 5th.
Eduardo's two match ban has been overturned by Uefa! This has just been reported on the BBC
Sport website, more news is to follow....
The Croatian was suspended after being found guilty of simulation in the Champions League
qualifier against Celtic on 26 August.
But on Monday, Uefa accepted Arsenal's appeal and he will now be eligible to play in their Group
H games against Standard Liege and Olympiakos.
