Who would have thought that Swansea at home this Saturday would be such a pivotal game in the
Arsenal's Premier League campaign? Not this subscriber, that's for sure. You see, I saw the season
thus far panning out like this; Geordies away, three points, nae messin', man.
Bin-dippers at home?
Sometimes it's easy to forget heroes still exist. It's so easy to look at Arsenal's struggles this
season and dwell on the mistakes and missed opportunities. Easy to put idols from the past on
pedestals, ...
Oh God! What does one say after a game like that. Great fighting spirit and a gritty display for
a well-earned away point at a difficult venue? Terrible performance that shows the Gunners just
aren't good enough anymore? I guess it depends on one's mentality and the spin that suits it. As
mentioned in the preview, I wasn't expecting a win but a more assured performance would have been
encouraging for the future.

Arsenal's new Number One is making quite a name for himself in the opening weeks of the
season.
He made a string of fine saves in the cauldron of Udine, including a Seaman-esque penalty stop,
to effectively win Arsenal £25m and guarantee their participation in this year's Champions
League.
"It is terrible. It is just not good enough". I couldn't agree more with those words spoken by
Arsene Wenger yesterday, but the question on many supporters lips this morning is where do we go
from here? Speculation will of course continue about Arsene Wenger and his job, but then it does on

Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie has claimed that his teammates outplayed Blackburn in
Saturday's 4-3 defeat and he is still shocked that Steve Kean's struggling outfit was able to score
four times.
Although the Dutchman acknowledged the need to stop conceding soft goals in order to rebound
quickly from a third defeat in only five Premier League matches, he reminded the Rovers that they
were fortunate to emerge as the winning side at Ewood Park.

How many teams can miss that many first choice players and eke out a fairly comfortable win in
the Champions League? I think that is the big question and one that many might have missed when
entangled in observations pertaining to Arsenal's defence, which undoubtedly needs a lot more
work.
As expected, Wenger rested a number of key players.
Arsenal midfielder Andrey Arshavin believes the Gunners have to change their style of football
after they sold Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri during the summer transfer window. Speaking to
Russian newspaper Sport, the 30-year old was ...
4-1-4-1 accommodates Germany's attacking options and underlines Germany's defensive weaknesses.
If Jogi Löw considers 4-1-4-1 his formation of choice for next year's Euros, then he has a lot of
work to do, to get the balance between offense and defense right. It's perfect for high scoring
friendlies and against smaller teams though.
Liverpool Striker Andy Carroll is getting it in the neck from all sides at the moment; whether it's
fans getting frustrated with his performances; the media attacking his price tag, or Fabio Capello
publicly criticising his lifestyle, the pressure is most definitely on the for £35m man. When it
comes to his performances for Liverpool though, has Carroll really been as underwhelming as
everyone seems to think?
Arsene Wenger wrapped up as many as five quality signings on the transfer deadline day but not
all members of his squad are feeling confident about the future ahead.
Russian winger Andrei Arshavin, for one, believes that the Gunners' failure to sign a defensive
midfielder such as Rennes' Yann M'Vila not only left the Arsenal midfield incomplete, but also
prevented Wenger from compensating for the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
The transfer window is firmly shut, but the rumours just keep on coming as far as Arsenal are
concerned. Two new names that are being mentioned today are that of defender Neven Subotic and
midfielder Riccardo Montolivo. Neven Subotic plays for Borussia Dortmund and according to some
reports he was a target for Arsenal during [.

Three points more than welcome but a great deal of work remains to be done.
Arsene picked the expected line-up, handing debuts to Mertesacker and Arteta. It was a strong
looking side and almost everyone expected a win for the Gunners.
The Spaniard had an early chance to make his mark as he won a free-kick just outside the box in
a central area.

Cesc Fabregas has furiously denied bad-mouthing the Arsenal and insisting he didn't leave, as
claimed in an interview, because the Gunners couldn't win silverware in the next few years.
Cesc-gate erupted yesterday with a supposed interview in which the Barcelona midfielder set out
his reasons for quitting the Emirates, chief amongst them was the percieved inability for Arsene
Wenger to steer the club to some trophies any time soon.

After surviving the shock of falling a goal behind to their League Two opponents, struggling
Arsenalcame back to beat Shrewsbury Town 3-1 and comfortably progress into the fourth round of
the Carling Cup at the Emirates Stadium.
The visitors stunned the Emirates crowd after 16 minutes when James Collins's bullet header beat
Lukasz Fabianski, and a major upset looked to be possible.
Well we got back on track a little bit today, battling back from a one goal deficit to defeat
Shrewsbury Town 3-1. Some of the same worries are still there, of course, but at least we can enjoy
ourselves for now. Before getting into the recap, I want to apologize to the readers for a couple
of things.
(Summary is not available.)
Strong start. Eased off. Conceded a sloppy goal and some chances. Regrouped. Equalized. Pushed
on and closed the game out by adding a couple more. Entertaining. Encouraging. Much needed.
It was a youthful line-up and an even younger bench. Le Boss also started with a fluid 4-4-2
giving Park and Chamakh having a great deal of freedom to move.
