In a bid to bolster his often-injured back line, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been in hot
pursuit of Blackburn center back Christopher Samba. Now, however, it appears the Gunners are set to

chairperson Anuradha Desai has called on her prized asset to stay at Ewood Park for one more
year.

Earlier this month the Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis met with his Bolton counterpart
Phil Gartside to discuss the possibility of the 25-year-old's transfer, with Arsenal coach Arsene
Wenger also ready to seal the transfer of Christopher Samba from Blackburn Rovers.
Arsenal is a topic that's currently on everyone's lips in the transfer window for mostly negative

Hair band to be back in style at Arsenal?
This is the one story which won't go away and has been reported to be done but nothing is
confirmed yet. Gervinho is apparently the player Arsene Wenger wants to bolster his attacking
options. He is a wide attacker cum striker who is currently contracted to Lille, the Ligue 1
champions.
If you did a quick medal count between Cesc Fabregas and Park Ji-Sung, the difference is quite a
relevation. Cesc's only club honors for Arsenal are one FA Cup medal from 2004-05 and a Community
Shield winner's medal from 2004 (but that doesn't...

Major stagnation period going on right now. It's the time when the previous season is old enough
for you to stop thinking of it as ‘this season'; it's also the time when the calendar leers at
you for looking ahead to next season. Stagnation time. It's all deserted on the field, the
tumbleweed is wantonly tumbling on the Emirates turf as a hauntingly slow version of ‘The Wonder

Remember when we brought you the review of the leaked Arsenal away kit?
Well, our worst fears have been realized:
I'm sticking with my original -2/5 rating. It's just awful. Arsenal's own Andrey Ashavin described
it best, likening the shirts to "jockey silks". And it's not likely to look any better on the
pitch:
Clowns.

Bearing in mind that you could probably rupture Robin van Persie's spleen if you stared at him
hard enough, it's little wonder that Diego Lugano's reckless, two-footed stomp after only 30
minutes of last night's 'friendly' between Holland and Uruguay didn't land the Arsenal crock in an
Intensive Care ward.
So it's transfer season, and everyone is in a tizzy with rumors of whether Cesc Fabregas and
Samir Nasri are going to stay or go, when Clichy, Bendtner and Denilson will say good-bye, and who
may or may not be coming to Arsenal to be our saviour with the required mental strength, leadership
desire.

"Arsenal: Explosive up until the six-yard box"
Presenting Arsenal's brand new, impeccably smart away strip for 2011/12 a kit described by
Andrey Arshavin as looking like 'jockey clothes' (to be fair to the wee meerkat, I see what he's
saying) during one of his brilliantly deadpan Q&A sessions on his personal website.
There have been many transfer rumors regarding Samir Nasri. The three most prominent have been to
Manchester United, Manchester City and now, as a late development on Friday evening, Chelsea.
Surely Arsenal cannot sell one of their best players to...

Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie has written off his sides chances of silverware next
season by insisting that the Gunners have failed to learn from their past mistakes.
Arsene Wenger's men were serious title contenders for much of the season and reached the Carling
Cup final at Wembley, however, after an atypical collapse to the season, the Gunners ended the
season potless thus failing to end their six year trophy drought.

It will come as no surprise to Newcastle United fans that the club is now being strongly linked
with another midfielder with French connections, although Arsenal's alleged interest in Joey Barton
may be a little more surprising. I am most disappointed to find we haven't signed any new players
yet today.

Here we are, just a week after Martin said his goodbyes, and now I will be saying goodbye too.
This will be my last post here at Arsenal Offside.
I almost don't know what to say. I'm not very good with goodbyes, so I'll try to keep things
short. I basically came to this blog like the rest of you, as a fan and a frequent contributor to
the comments section.
Arsene Wenger will be busy this summer in the transfer market, but when looks at bringing
players in he has to negotiate carefully as there is a small army of Arsenal players who were
scattered throughout Europe.
Of the players plying their trade, Pedro Botelho is the most likely player to
make the Arsenal first team squad this season.

sides making bids to Arsenal for their captain.
Barcelona opened the bidding. for a player they have tapped up for three seasons, last week when
they made an official bid of £27m. The bid was immediately turned down by Arsenal who have a
