Looking for a Leader?
I've been saying that Denilson hasn't done anything of note all season. Well, he has now.
Denilson gave a recent interview to Arsenal Brasil. I'm not sure exactly how recently the
interview was given, but it has to have been pretty recent because they specifically talk about the
Wigan match, which was only a couple of weeks ago.

We are currently trailing to Empire of the Kop, famous in these parts for immediately offering

Despite the highest ranking members of SoS admitting to being present and doing nothing to stop the

The Catalonians come back as anticipated with an improved bid for Cesc Fabregas now seemingly
more determined than ever to bring closure to this long ordeal. For their part Arsenal seem to be
equal partners in this negotiation process for the first time.

We always say we support any player who dons the prestigious Red & White shirt, but is this
really true? In all honesty, what were your thoughts when Mr. Wenger took off Theo on Sunday to
replace him with Eboue? Come on be honest!
I can tell you my reaction, it was dismay. Not purely as a response to AW's frustrating habit of
trying to defend a lead (more of that another time) but because I really thought I had seen the
last of Mr.
Gael Clichy is obviously on his way out. His contract negotiations have broken down and with a
year left Arsenal are keen to avoid a Bosman. He's been mentioned before as a sweetener to a
rumoured Karim Benzema transfer. But this is the first concrete offer and it comes from a rival
Premiership side.
Some weeks ago Arseblog readers submitted some questions for Lee Dixon, and now, in association
with I AM PLAYR, we have his answers.
I love the way he says Arseblog.

My good old friends at Arsenal Brasil have done it again. Last time it was an interview with
former Gunner Edu, this time around it's one of the first team squad, Denilson. They've given
Arseblog an exclusive English translation.
He talks about life at Arsenal, his teammates, gives his thoughts on the issue of leadership, as
well as his future plans .
Whether mis-quoted or not (and I'm fairly sure he was) Denilson has made a valid point about the
lack of leaders in the Arsenal side.
True his actual quotes were taken from an interview meant only for the Arseblog and Arsenal Brazil
websites by a third party, sold to the sun and then put through their trashy, tabloid story spinner
in order to make dramatic if mis-leading headlines.
Ok, in the light of new information I need to clarify the previous post.
Arsenal Brasil and I exchanged emails over the Denilson interview. They granted Arseblog
exclusive 'English' rights to the interview and its content, as they did with the Edu interview.
They did the translation, attached the sub-titles and sent me the video clip around noon
yesterday.
Recently Robin van Persie was spotted over the coastal town of Portsmouth engaging in some
leisure activity. Skydiving to be exact. In his full kit and cleats for Christ's sake.
It's all part of a new marketing effort from an American PR firm to add more excitement and
synergy to the start of the match.
Highlights of yesterday's 0-0 draw against Sunderland, as well as a few other things worth

Also, there was some reports yesterday that Jack Wilshere would miss the Barca match with the
ankle knock he picked up late, but today we actually got some good injury news for a change Jack is
fit to go and will almost certainly start against Barcelona.
The Arseblog Online Store is now open.
Just some info: There are four different kinds of t-shirts to choose from and a
cool print. The mugs won't be in stock for another week or so, it won't let you checkout if you've
selected one.
New products will be added to the store as we go along and I'm always open to suggestions.
From Despair to Where as the song says. As I write, the banner article on the official website
contains the ramifications for the Qualifying Round of the Champions League. Full on espresso
depresso and the starkest visual illustration of just how disappointing the last few months have
been.
Morning, a quick Saturday round-up for you.
After saying quite categorically in his press conference on Thursday that he wouldn't be adding
to his coaching staff in the close season, the manager has revealed he's 'open' to it, saying:
We are open-minded. We always add people, you know.
Wenger summing up the season after the Fulham match.
" But we are not to go overboard. Maybe one year you will realise that it is not easy to
finish in the top four every time. Even if people say we have to spend money, we have to be
realistic. We cannot buy players for £50 million and, even if we try to strengthen our team and
spend money if needed, that is fact.
Have you ever noticed how many of our players can accomodate the arse? In their name, I
mean.
Cesc Fabregarse, Andrei Arseshavin, Thomarse Vermaelen, Bacary Sagnarse, Nicklarse Bendtnarse,
Lukarse Fabianski, Emmanuel Eboue. No, wait, he is an Arse. Still, quite something if you were to
stop and think about it for a second.
Morning all, the new season is just a day away and this morning Arsene will meet the press in
what is sure to be a fun-filled romp full of japery and good cheer.
Last night, we got a glimpse of the interview Arsene does with the official site before every
game. He confirmed that it was true we had to sort out the Cesc issue and called the Nasri
situation 'stable', before adding:
It is very difficult to speak about possible transfers but we are in a situation where we have
to make decisions one way or the other.
Andre Dos Santos skills
Holy Saint: As per Arsenal, they haven't exactly decided to park the bus come transfer deadline,
and have signed not dos but three players.
Park Chu Young: The South Korean captain from relegated Monaco is a makeshift
signing for Joel Campbell who was denied a work permit.
It was always going to happen. Such was the ferocity of the storm we've just been through, the
relative lack of activity afterwards makes it feel like there's very little going on.
In fact, the fact that there's very little going on makes it feels like there's nothing going
on. No rumours, although someone on Twitter yesterday asked me if it was true that we'd be buying
Hazard in January because he'd read something somewhere by someone.
At least, for me the season starts here. Thanks to the untimely (or timely, depending on your
perspective) event of a family wedding on the other side of Canada, I have quite literally missed
every second of the official start to Arsenal's season. The five matches that were played in August
is nearly the total of my missed games in the each of the last five seasons.
I loved Silvinho, and my good old friends at Arsenal Brasil have nabbed an interview which just
proves what a lovable little guy he was.
He talks about his time at Arsenal and more. Enjoy.

Well, this is a bit odd. For the first time in 15 years my morning routine has changed. When we
got the dog my first task of the morning would be to get up, let him out and clean up the mess he'd
made overnight. Given his age he'd kind of come full circle but it's very weird to see the space
where his bed used to be.

Apparently, and I take this information from my Twitter feed (confident in the fact that Twitter
has never, ever been wrong about anything), today is the 125th birthday of Arsenal Football
Club.
Was it on this very day somebody said 'Let's make a football team and let's call it Dial Square'
before somebody not too shortly afterwards said, 'Dial Square is a terrible name for anything, let
alone a football club.

Morning to you from the vaguely more familiar surroundings of Arseblog Towers. A reasonable
night's sleep is a nice thing. And it just goes to show what an undemanding person I am. A great
night's sleep is not necessary, I don't want a spectacular night's sleep, just a middle of the
road, perfectly all right one.
A little over seven years ago, Tom Goom, a good friend of mine, fellow Gooner and all round good
egg, told me about this 'great fansite he'd come across', and that I should check it out.
At the time, I'd grown bored of gossip sites, as well as the majority of the printed press, such
was the dearth of accuracy and logic on offer, so I was naturally a little cynical.
