According to the Daily Mail, although the news was first given by ArseBlog, to celebrate 125
silverware-laden years next season, Arsenal will be using a commemorative kit, just as they did for
the last year ...
Morning all, no shortage of material despite the fact the season has ended, so let's crack on
into it.
Yesterday, Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis said the club had sufficient funds to invest this
summer, qualifying that with the usual:
As always we'll only do this on our timescale, on the basis of our manager's assessments and not
those of the media.
The very first *boilk* of the new era. It had to be done. You know how it would
have been. People would have been whispering 'Oh, it's been seven blogs since he's boilked, you
know'.
Then the whispers would have turned into chatter about how a new puritanical Arseblog was the
order of the day and I'd become a slave to advertisers and all that.
I realise it's not a bank holiday for many of you but it is for me so a quick round-up will have
to suffice.
Having categorically said we won't even consider negotiating with Barcelona over Cesc, The Sun
is reporting this morning that we've said 'Ok then, double your offer to £50m and he's yours'.

What is there to say about yesterday's game against Man City? Not much, let's be honest. It was
fairly dull stuff, City seemed quite content with a point, us slightly less content than that but
not much more. Vieira's applause, despite him being a bit of a cock throughout the game (his kick
and elbow on Alex Song were a bit naughty), and the subsequent jeering of Adebayor was the most
noteworthy moment.
We can do away with Martin Atkinson turning a blind eye to Fabianski's mugging, Van Persie's
penalty call after being fouled by Salgado in the box, and a few red cards thrown in for good
measure. When teams play Blackburn, this is about a standard deviation from the normal. Not an
outlier.
So what are we hearing?
Forget what you read elsewhere about Cesc being annoyed with PHW's comments and Arsenal's lack
of trophies, what you're getting this morning is 100% inescapable, iron clad, genuine, bone fide
truth pie with a great big lump of vanilla veracity on top.
This morning Arseblog can exclusive reveal the 10 reasons why Cesc wants to leave Arsenal.
My good old chums at Arsenal Brasil were lucky enough to track down former Gunner Edu to ask him
some questions about his Arsenal career.
On the agenda were his arrival at Arsenal, his favourite players, the Invincibles why he left,
his thoughts on Arsene Wenger and much more.
They've kindly added the English subtitles exclusively for Arseblog.
A couple of stories today:
First, the Cesc quotes being circulated yesterday were old. I thought it was weird that Cesc
would be giving an interview, since he's on vacation and has been pretty quiet about this whole
thing. Apparently the interview was given some time ago to a magazine for some gym or
something.
I know we've got a big game against Stoke later today and I'll get to that shortly but first I
hope you'll join me in raising a glass, or a cup of coffee at this early stage, to ... well ... me.
Today Arseblog reaches the grand old age of 8.
It began on Feb 27th 2002 and in some kind of a hungover haze, here we are 8 years down the
line.
Aaron Ramsey's horrific injury has stirred up emotions everywhere this weekend, and the way it
is being reported is dividing the nation. Some are looking into the wider issue of the supposed
'coincidence' that the team who opposition are encouraged to 'get stuck into' are the ones
suffering a series of career-threatening injuries.
Everyone make a mental note to never ever play FIFA '10 against hjerpseth... (Spotted by Sneakers

I am returned and I have discovered something quite amazing. The perfect hangover cure. And I
don't just mean for any hangover. I mean for post-wedding, post-Jaegermeister, post-whiskey,
post-all day drinking mixing wine and beer and gin and everything else. The kind of hangover that
makes you wish you could book yourself into a Dignitas clinic and just have yourself put out of
your misery.

Word on the internet (Via @arseblog and others) is that Thierry Henry has
finally completed his move to the New York Red Bulls well, it's been on the cards for a while, with
only the small matter of the World Cup preventing the move from taking place earlier in the
summer.
Everyone watching the England, Switzerland match will have cringed when seeing the injury Theo
Walcott suffered tonight after landing awkwardly on his right ankle. My first instinct was that he
had done his ankle ligaments and that means a pretty long lay-off but if his studs were caught and
with his ankle looking like this.

Ten minutes is what it took Wigan to carve up Arsenal but the squad seem to have thrown in the
towel a while back.
The shifting tropes in this Arsenal season has gotten so bent out of shape.
A few weeks before Wenger was singing praises about the squad's mental strength. Of late, he has
been bemoaning the lack of cohesion and discipline.
This is close to Muhammad Ali taking all that wild swinging by George Foreman to administer an
eighth round knockout in that Kinshasa classic.
After soaking up that incessant "public tapping" over Cesc without the courtesy of a club to
club approach, Arsenal came up with a nice right hook.
This weekend sees the pre-season begin in earnest as Arsenal look to defend their Emirates Cup
title.
Arseblog, in association with Emirates, the award-winning international airline, is giving you
the chance to win tickets and more.
This year's tournament features a strong line-up and joining the Gunners will be Italian giants
AC Milan, Glasgow Celtic and Champions League semi-finalists Olympique Lyonnais.
Arseblog states the characteristic that makes Cesc so special:
" His desire to win football matches is a big part of what makes him the great player he is,
that will not change."
There have been some misgivings voiced about him being captain - when he makes it clear that
moving to Barca was on his mind during the summer.
As tradition dictates here's the annual Arseblog season preview. For a little bit of contrast
I've added in some bits from last year.
As usual let's start with the men between the sticks.

Last year's verdict: As long as Almunia is fit I don't think we have too much to worry
about.
C-day could stand for many things. Chamakh Day, Clam Day, Christmas Day, ClintEastwood day, but
really it's just the day before D-day, innit?
Yesterday was C-day for many teams as the new Premier League season kicks off today. We have to
wait until 4pm tomorrow, the so-called 'Super Sunday'.
In a rare moment of me saying something interesting on Twitter, I dredged up the statistic that
Arsenal haven't lost at home to a foreign team since 2003. And a dark day that was. 40-odd quid to
stand on the North Bank and watch Arsenal get spanked by Inter Milan.
But since then, part of the reason we are always a danger in the Champions League is that we are
exceptionally hard to beat at home.
Morning all.
We're right into the thick of the Interlull now but due to injuries Arsene has a bigger than
normal squad of players to work with. Cesc Fabregas is more or less fit now, he claims he didn't
play against Chelsea in case he had a setback and although the result was poor you have to think
that was the right decision.
Back in Champions League action today as we welcome Shakhtar to London.
The big storyline that's dominating all the pre-match build-up is the return of Eduardo to the
Emirates. This has been covered a lot elsewhere Arseblog in particular has a good roundup of the
relevant quotes. To briefly sum it up, it's a huge love-in.
*boilk*
Morning all,
anyone looking for any comment on the stuff about Arsene's private life can click away now. I,
literally, could not give a shit. And websites repeating the stuff, who otherwise bemoan the
tabloids and their noxious ways, would do well to reconsider their postings.
Back in the day when this site was hand-coded each morning, like an artisan baker producing
steaming baps, this is where I'd say 'Welcome to a brand new month on Arseblog'.
This month is November which has become something of a bogey month for us in seasons past. We
played five games last November and lost two, away at Sunderland and home to Chelsea.
