Today, both Club America and Chivas Guadalajara trained at our Swope Park Training Center ahead of tomorrow's Clasico Bud Light at Arrowhead Stadium. The Kansas City Wizards first played in Arrowhead Stadium (home of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City, Missouri), and created quite the echo chamber with attendance barely in five figures in a stadium holding 80,000. Then in 2007, they moved to a stadium that barely holds five figures, CommunityAmerica Ballpark (home of minor league baseball team the T-Bones in Kansas City, Kansas), an oddly angled fit for soccer and too small for the Wizards.

SUMmer of Soccer Continues

The 'Summer of Soccer' which began on June 20, rolls on. As of now, over 1,455,000 have attended SuperLiga, the Gold Cup, the World Football Challenge and a variety of club and international friendlies.

Since my last post on the SUMmer of Soccer, an International Friendly doubleheader was played and a few more friendlies were scheduled .

The Wizards dropped game 2 of the East Coach roadie 1-0 tonight to D.C. United at RFK. The guys generated multiple quality opportunities in the first half, but we couldn't put one away. Next up is New York on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT on Metro Sports.

There was a huge line just before the gates opened tonight at Arrowhead.
CD Guadalajara (Chivas) topped archrivals Club America 2-1 Wednesday night in front of a raucous crowd of 26,119 in the Clasico Bud Light at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. America opened the scoring in the 53rd minute before two late strikes propelled Chivas to a dramatic 2-1 win.
