I have this U2 bootleg of them playing a tiny club gig (for U2 at least) at New York's Irving
Plaza. After the 1st song Bono says that putting them on that stage was akin "trying to land a
747 on your front lawn". I think that same statement could be applied to Brand Beckham making
an appearance at KC's Community America Ballpark.
Another soccer-filled weekend is on tap, so let's get to it.
*The Galaxy are out of town in New York where Claudio Reyna retired this week and the Red Bulls
signed two South American midfielders who could make their debuts Saturday.
The game airs live at 3:30 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel and a crowd of more than 45,000 is
expected to turn out largely to see David Beckham who continues to prove why he's nicknamed Golden
Balls.
Captain Kansas City and Captain England teamed up last month at BMO Field. They'll be facing off
Sept. 13 at Arrowhead.
Alright guys, the moment teeny-boppers and soccer moms alike have been waiting for. Sr. David
Beckham will be making his first-ever appearance in Kansas City (injury, yellow-card suspension and
a bunch of other things permitting, of course).
So who's headed for Kansas City on Saturday to see David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Chris Klein
(DeSmet) and Jack Jewsbury (Kickapoo) play? The Wizards have announced a Food Drive in conjunction
with the game
The Kansas City Wizards, M&I Bank and Harvesters Community Food Network have come together for a
food drive prior to this Saturday's Wizards game against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Hey all, just sent out a press release announcing the LA Galaxy game on September 13 has been moved
to Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff will now by 4 p.m. CT instead of 7 p.m. CT. The Chiefs home opener is
the next day, so the game was bumped up, in part, to allow more time for grounds crews and stadium
crews to change things over.
Think that Beckham fella knows a thing or two about show-business? He's not the only soccer player
around who has starred in a hit movie. While none of these flicks are named after someone on our
roster, the guys got a little nostalgic recently and went back in time to reenact their favorite
scenes from 80s movies.
0) The game is at Arrowhead.
1) Parking lots open at 1 p.m. CT...be there early for the tailgate.
2) Former KC and STL-based indoor soccer players are squaring off at KC Soccerdome tomorrow at noon
CT. You must show a ticket to tomorrow's MLS game to get in. Enjoy.
3) Stadium gates open at 2 p.
The LA Galaxy is running out of time. They lost to the KC Wizards, 0-2 in Arrowhead stadium as
thousands came to see David Beckham. This was a team that they had beaten comfortably in the past.
It is too early in Bruce Arena's managerial career with the Galaxy to judge whether this will put
them back on track but it is safe to say a slow start is not the turnaround that Tim Leiwecke, the
CEO of AEG was looking for.
I have no proof of this, but the guess all season has been that the game between KC and the LA
Galaxy on September 13th would be moved to the Wizards former home of Arrowhead Stadium. There was
speculation back in February that the Wizards could play two games at Arrowhead this season. And
while nothing has been officially announced, it seems like Arrowhead is going to be the site.
Hello all, after a comment in a post below, I wanted to come on and remind everyone that Saturday's
game will be played at 4 p.m. CT at Arrowhead Stadium. The match was originally scheduled for 7
p.m. CT at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, but it was moved in mid-July. Tell all your friends and
family who may be planning to attend to make sure they know of the change.
Tomorrow afternoon, the Wizards return to Arrowhead Stadium to take on David Beckham and the Galaxy
at 4 pm. Both team's are struggling right now, as since the all star break, the two are a combined
1-7-5. LA hasn't won since June. KC's only win since the all star break was a game against Chivas
USA that they probably should have only gotten a point out of.
How about that golazo from Davy Arnaud?? Talk about a long-ronge bomb. The win puts us back into
the mix for the final playoff spot, just four points behind D.C. United (who tied FC Dallas 2-2).
Check out some notables from the match and the post-game quote sheet.
· Following the match, Kansas City sits 7-9-8, 29 pts in sole possession of 6th place in the
Eastern Conference.
Details continue to leak about the Wizards schedule, which is due to be released tomorrow. Today,
Pete Grathoff at the Star says that source with the team has told him that the Wizards could play
at least two games at the 'Head this season.
The obvious choice for one of those games, is the Beckham Game Part Deux.

This morning, Wizards coach, Curt Onalfo was on The 2 G's radio show on the Champions Soccer Radio
Network. In an interview with hosts, Graham Bell and Peter Brown, Onalfo spoke on multiple topics,
from the Wizards to his time with the US Men's National team. There was some interesting
information that came out during the show.
There are exciting 0-0 ties, like USA-Argentina, and then there are scoreless draws like
Real Salt Lake-Kansas City Wizards.
It wasn't pretty, and fans probably didn't leave Rice-Eccles excited about a match they'll
remember for a long time, but the result was a fair one for two teams struggling to find
consistency and keep pace with the league's better teams.

Thanks to WildcatWizard on bigsoccer for bringing this to my attention. On the Wizards schedule on
their website, they now have a symbol next to the game at home against the Galaxy. At the bottom of
the schedule it says that the symbol means that the game will be played at Arrowhead. The game has
also been moved to 4 pm on Saturday, up from the 7 pm start time that is listed on the schedule,
this has likely been done to give Arrowhead staff more time to get the field ready for the Chiefs
game the next day.
Very early Wednesday morning I posted that the Wizards game against LA would be moved to Arrowhead.
Today the announcement has been made official by the team. The game has been officially moved to 4
pm with the Chiefs game against the Raiders the next day.
Individual game tickets for the game have not gone on sale yet, but people can get tickets to the
game through a special ticket offer.
Hey there, just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that midfielder Kerry Zavagnin, holder
of the team's all-time games played and minutes played records, told the crew at the weekly press
conference today he would hang them up after the season. Read Bob Luder's brief summary here. It
should be updated later this evening.
Hey guys, check out the press release just sent out and bring three or more non-perishable items to
gain access into a special pre-game party hosted by M&I Bank. Help us help others!
