Adiós Armin Veh…

Fritten, Fussball & Bier 03 November @ 09:36 AM EST
Ach armer Armin Veh! Was soll er denn machen?

Bundesliga Blog 10 October @ 01:24 PM EST

Doktor Fussball 17 September @ 03:52 AM EST

Bundesliga 2009/2010: What is New? What Stayed the Same?

The Offside: Bundesliga 02 September @ 08:31 PM EST

Sorry for letting this blog rot away in the late August sun for so many weeks. Other work took over and left some time but not much energy to spend on other things. But the team blogs have been bursting with energy all the more at the same time and a few more came back to life, so I guess there were still enough places on The Offside for Bundesliga related updates.

Bundesliga Week 2 - Hecking moves closer to the edge

Some People are On The Pitch 18 August @ 08:52 AM EST
OK so we're only two games in but could we be seeing the early signs of how the new Bundesliga season is going to shape up? At the end of last season, most pundits believed that Wolfsburg might dip somewhat following their magnificent success last season and the inevitable departure of their best forwards, not to mention that of Svengali coach Felix Magath. Poll: The Coaching Selections.

The Offside 02 June @ 08:00 AM EST
It's no surprise that coaching changes are typically swift. The selection for the sidelines can impact everything that happens throughout the summer - from the market to the board room to the staff individual player training on holiday. So you don't mess around. But this year's been excessively swift. Click to continue reading...

The Silly Season (€54.5 million! What Recession)

Bundesliga Talk 26 May @ 10:31 AM EST

Armin Veh was announced as Wolfsburg's new manager after their title celebrations. The ex-Stuttgart manager will now try and replicate his 2008 Champions League form. It should be easier with the imminent loss of Dzeko and Misimovic.

Mario Gomez became the most expensive player in Bundesliga history, swapping Stuttgart red for Bayern red.

Job Security in Europe’s Top Leagues

The Offside: Bundesliga 27 April @ 02:05 PM EST

Getting the sack as a football coach isn't really the worst thing that could happen to you and to Jürgen Klinsmann. Except for the banking sector there probably isn't a job on this planet where screwing up pays you so much in golden handshakes. Looking at it this way, this season's best places in Europe to make a quick buck for just a couple of months of work and media/fan abuse are:

Bundesliga Talk 29 July @ 03:57 PM EST
The Deutsche Presse Agentur released a poll yesterday about predictions for the upcoming season. Bayern Munich was the unanimous favorite of Bundesliga coaches to repeat as champions.
