Here are the latest rumors circulating about AEK: Nikolaos Karabellas, 24-year-old left back
currently playing with Aris, has agreed to sign for AEK for three years. Georgios Fotikas, 27-year
old Midfielder currently playing for Larissa (and formerly of Kilmarnock FC of the Scottish Premier
League) is set to join AEK over the Summer as well.
Yep, you guessed it, another derby on the first matchday of the season. And AEK will once again
be one of the teams playing in the derby, just like last year. And who will our opponent be? Yep,
its Olympiakos!
The game is still a while away but Im sure the likes of Bajevic, Blanco, Scocco, and Kyrgiakos
are waiting for their revenge after our unfortunate loss in the Greek Cup Final of 2009.
UEFA Europa League, formerly the UEFA Cup
With four games of the Premier League campaign left, Fulham are leading the 'race' for seventh
place and for the Cottagers it will be a rare European adventure. This would of course be via the
all singing, all dancing UEFA Europa League.
This 'new' competition was created by reformatting and re-branding the ailing UEFA Cup.
AEK have recently signed left-back Nikolaos Karabelas who currently played at Aris.
This is a decent transfer. The defender is 24 years old. Bajevic is already familiar with him
since he coached him while at Aris. This should certainly help since both Karabelas and Bajevic
know each other already.
EPO has said that AEK will be the home team for this year's cup final. This is good news for
AEK, and hopefully it will mean we get to choose our gates (AEK wants gates 1-35, a significant
portion of OAKA, about half), our locker rooms, and whether our fans arrive by train (instead of
busses).
Ok, to be honest, I was expecting a loss for AEK here. Aris were considered favorites for this
game and I think that's somewhat justified. Bearing that in mind, I'll take a draw here. Its never
easy to win away against Aris, even on a good day.
I wasn't able to watch the match since it was satellite.

At first and indeed second glance I'm not sure the squad looks strong enough for a sustained title
push.
Recently promoted Kavala's impressive form in the Superleague has continued after they managed
to get a late win against AEK. This win means that Kavala has managed to take points from each of
the big three (a draw against Olympiakos in Karaiskaki and a home draw against PAO).
Though Kavala's first goal came off of a penalty which was a clear dive and a few calls weren't
made in our favour, Kavala were clearly the better team.
Well that didn't take long to go from report to reality...Fulham forward Eddie Johnson will play
out his season with Greek battlers Aris Salonika, managed by former Inter Milan and Valencia boss
Hector Cuper.- Greg Seltzer
Eddie Johnson is on his way to Greece.
The American striker has been sent on loan to Greek club Aris Thessaloniki, Fulham announced on
Thursday.
Johnson has struggled for playing time with Fulham even amid several injuries to the Cottagers
forwards, so a move to Greece could be a move that helps give him the playing time he needs to
develop into a candidate for the U.
It looks like Edinho has gotten into yet another argument with AEK manager Dusan Bajevic. He
will most likely be fined, and will possibly miss the next match. Bad timing for the Portuguese
striker, after Djebbour's injury left the second attacking spot wide open for him.
We will have to wait until Sunday to see who will play along side Blanco, as AEK faces Bajevic's
previous team, Aris.
The final home game of the regular season ended in disappointment for AEK after they lost 1-0 to
Aris, the first time Aris had gotten an away win against AEK since 1989.
Edinho started the match in the end, along side Blanco. Unfortunately, however, neither he nor
Blanco could do much to get the ball in the net.
Not the greatest quality, but heres a video of the goals:
So, 3-2 against Levadeiakos (who currently sit second from last) when we had a two goal lead.
Not good enough. Even in our terrible state we should not be giving up two goal leads to teams like
this. But, nonetheless, we got the three points and we now move up to fifth, thanks largely to PAOK
who drew with Kavala as well as Panionios who drew with Larissa, and Aris who lost at home to
Tripolis!
