I'd love to write ‘Same as against Stoke please,' because there's a good chance the game could
play out similarly, but I doubt the international break will allow it.
After searching and searching for information on the richest footballers, I finally came up with
this list. The amazing thing about it is that it contains 3 Brazilians, 3 Britons, an Argentinean,
1 Portuguese, and 1 German and no players of African or Asian decent.
David Beckham is by far the richest footballer but I personally feel that either Kaka or
Ronaldinho should top the list.
Javier Mascherano is a major fitness doubt for Liverpool's Champions League clash with Debrecen on
Wednesday.
The Argentinean international failed to report back on time from international duty last week and
missed Saturday's demolition of Premier League new boys Burnley.
Mascherano picked up a pelvic injury in midweek and was advised not to fly by doctors in Argentina.
Saint Etienne started this season just like they ended the last one, with poor
performances and they quickly found themselves in the relegation zone. Seeing that the team have
taken the wrong path, the club management decided to act and brought a couple of very good players
in the dying moments of the transfer window, but it was Argentine striker Gonzalo
Bergessio who stole the spotlight in the last few weeks and he certainly looks like the
man that can turn things around for Les Verts (The Greens).
It's a sign of the progress Emiliano Insua has made that he was nowhere to be seen at Elland Road
on Tuesday night.
Not long ago a Carling Cup tie represented the young defender's best chance of a Liverpool first
team appearance.
In fact when the Reds were unceremoniously dumped out of the competition at Tottenham last season
Insua couldn't even get in a largely second string starting line up.
The last match day contained the most electrifying derby in the Bundesliga – the so called
"Revier-Derby". It's the matchup between Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund. The repulsion between
these two teams is so strong, that the fans even use synonyms, when they talk about the opposing
team.
