He's had this date marked on the calendar ever since the Italian Federation announced the venue for
the Feb. 29 friendly against the United States, and yesterday marked a special occasion for Jurgen
Klinsmann as he returned to Genoa, where he played in 1997 for U.C. Sampdoria. He spent one season
here under legendary Argentine coach Cesar Luis Menotti, who led Argentina to a World Cup title in
1978.
Three months and £10 million in fines after refusing Roberto Mancini's request that he warm up
a second time during a Champions League match and then fleeing back to Argentina without
permission, Carlos Tevez has apologized to the club that could not sell him. The following is a
transcript of Tevez's apology, with the help of his adviser Kia Joorabchian, to the man who vowed
that Carlos would never play for City again.
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Naturally, I'm describing Arsenal's
2011-2012 season. I'm a nice guy, and I don't want to hold Arsene wholly accountable for the team's
woes, particularly due to the simple fact that, well, that's what everybody else already does.

Oh, what would Maradona say about this? The final episode of "Tevez
y Mancini La Ópera de Amor" has finally come to a close on all of you. But fear not,
because although Man City went out of their way to come up with a personalised training
plan for him upon his return yesterday, Tevez wants to contest the €12 million
fine they have slapped on him.
Every football fanatic would love to get their hands on one of these youth player cards
especially that belonging to a player/legend. While clubs usually authorize these
official cards to be placed in their own museums (Real Madrid, for example, has a fascinating range
of cards belonging to their present and former 'greats' at the Bernabeu), Lionel
Messi's own had never been revealed.

Fan violence in football can pave the way for devastating consequences sometimes and this was
exactly what happened in Egypt last night. At least 73 people
were killed after Al-Masry defeated Al-Ahly 3-1 at the Cairo stadium with more than
1,000 injured in the stampede.
Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has revealed who he thinks the best player in the
world is and it's not a former United great. While many Manchester United fans still name Cristiano
Ronaldo as the best and most complete player in the world, Charlton has hailed the qualities of
Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

"Crucero General Belgrano".
I find this hilariously funny!
David Beckham got sent off from a youth soccer match:
"It was the younger kids of Romeo's club, and they're playing in the game and there was a
penalty given. And the kids are 7 years old and he sent the kid off." After that, Beckham, who has
seen his share of red cards in his career (including a crucial one in a World Cup match against
Argentina in 1998), did what so many parents of youth soccer players have done — he opened his
mouth.

Real Madrid wants Robin Van Persie. Look at my face: I am not happy right now.
Rather than just writing one opinion piece, I typically try to gather as much information from
around the World Wide Web and condense it with my own commentary added. This week we've got Real
Madrid pursuing Van Persie, Mourinho gunning for Arsene's job, Kieran Gibbs returns from a long
layoff to strengthen the defense, and a hobbled Jack Wilshere all torn up about England's national
team losing its coach just months before the Euro 2012.
Colombia has long been an under-performer in international football, and although improvements have
happened in the last 20 years, this continues. It does not help that the Colombian national team
often has been the subject of scandals, and it was also a recent scandal of the woman beater
Hernán Darío Gómez that led to his dismissal, and Colombia looking for a new coach.
Speaking to Fox Sports Latin America, Carlos Tevez has today revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson is
the best manager he has played for, as well as former Argentina coach Marcelo Bielsa.
"I know Ferguson really doesn't want to lose this title race," said Tevez. "I think
Ferguson and Bielsa are the best managers.
Amazingly, Manchester United are still in touching distance with Manchester City at the top of
the table, despite our crippling injuries.
Carlos Tevez, who was City's top scorer last season, finally had enough and refused to play for
the blues again, having a strop in Munich then fleeing to Argentina.
Carlos Tevez is on his way back to Manchester where he is expected to make up with Roberto
Mancini and be included back in the City squad. I think it is a sign of how worried that City are
that they will not win the league that they are willing to forgive and forget Tevez's actions.
And as a reminder of the kind of person he is, Tevez gave a farewell interview in Argentina with
Fox Sports in which he made some incredible statements about the club, fans and manager.

For the first time in eight years, Argentina has dropped below the top ten in FIFA rankings. The
worst ranking Argentina has ever had was back in 1996 when it ranked in 24th place.

Shortly before halftime in Flamengo's 1-1 Copa Libertadores Group 2 draw at Lanus, a young fan
of the Argentine side repeatedly spit at Ronaldinho as he prepared to take a corner kick. Another
fan, probably a toddler, threw a lighter.
What kind of heathen spits at Ronaldinho though?
