El Salvador National Soccer Team

Esto no es una guerra ni mucho menos, los salvadoreños deben de pensar en futbol y no atacar
solamente por hacerlo.
Last night, Argentina's Lanus or El Granate if you prefer were eliminated from the Copa
Libertadores after being held to a goalless draw at Mexican powerhouse Chivas de Guadalajara. As
with all games involving Mexican Primera teams, the cheerleaders or porristas were out with their
usual share of flags and sponsor-adorned tight fitting clothing.

The Paraguay national soccer team cheerleaders have taken the internet by storm! We got a first
good look at them last week during the South American FIFA World Cup 2010 qualification Paraguay
Argentina matchup in Asuncion. Now, more pictures of the Albirroja Porristas ("Red and White
Cheerleaders" in English) have emerged from Argentina.
(Summary is not available.)
1. First of all no player is worth 90 million, the big truth that all-time
most expensive player, Zinedine Zidan said is universal. Sir Alex can use that money to create a
team that will be dominant in the next decade and not only in England.
2. No matter how sweet, rotten apple always gives you cramps.
Argentina coach Diego Maradona on Wednesday put Brazilian legend Pele in his place, insisting the
latter was the second best player ever after himself. A FIFA internet poll in 2000 saw Maradona,
who will lead the albiceleste against the five-times world champion Brazilians in a September 5
World Cup qualifier, come .
Argentina needs a big win today to have a chance at world cup qualificaiotn and for Maradona to
remain as the coach.
As for Maradona's coaching, it is pretty obvoius that the Messi, Aguero & Tevez combinations have
not been very productinve in terms of goals. The only good change he has done so far is let Jesus
Datolo play as his wingman.
Here we go, two hours left before kickoff.
Argentina is playing its next to last WC qualifier today.
Argentina will have yet another different lineup today.
There are different mathematical possibilities and different qualifying scenarios. But I do not
have the mental energy to take all of this on.
As most soccer fans are know, there was South American FIFA World Cup 2010 qualification action
last night. As with any South American soccer games, the babes were out in full force. Here's a
look at some of them from the Brazil Chile meeting in Salvador and the Paraguay Argentina matchup
in Asuncion.
...The loser has to fall. Or go into a two-legged playoff against either Costa Rica or Honduras,
but that doesn't really fit into an ABBA lyric too well now does it?After

The disgusting phrase that Maradona used in last night's press conference towards his critics in
the Argentine media has now, sadly, taken on a life of its own.
Besides all the Argentine and international media coverage of Maradona's foul outburst, which
has become the main headline and overshadowed Argentina's WC qualification and historic win in
Montevideo, a website has been created "in honor" of Maradona's remark.
World Cup 2010 is just around the corner. As the last bunch of games for qualifications get
played this year we face the possibility of a tournament without some of the games giants.
It's still early but in Africa we stand the chance of missing out on Nigeria, Egypt and
Cameroon. In Central America Mexico are sitting 4th, although the change in management might be
enough to catch up with Honduras.
Argentina host Colombia tonight at 6pm Argentine time (10pm British Summer Time) on the kind of
pitch that even Wembley Stadium Ltd. would be embarrassed to see England play on. After Argentine
rock band Los Piojos played in El Monumental last Saturday, the AFA have wait for it painted bits
of the pitch [.
I guess I could also have named this "My obligatory Elizabeth Lambert post, and why I have no
respect for US college soccer." By now I'm sure everyone has seen the video of Elizabeth Lambert's
antics during the Mountain West Conference tournament game between New Mexico and Brigham Young.
Heck, I've seen it on sports websites in the UK, Spain, Italy, and Argentina.
One of the most recurrent things in football is that everybody always seem to underestimate the
United States side, leading to way too many surprises. The first such surprise was the legendary
victory of the USA in the 1950 World Cup over England, but it has happened in later times as well,
such as Colombia-USA in 1994, Argentina-USA in 1995, and Portugal-USA in 2002.
The clip above is from Diego Maradona's presser following Argentina's WCQ victory on Wednesday
night. To say he was more than a bit smug with regard to his side's qualification is something of
an understatement. For those of us that don't speak Spanish, let me provide you with a translation
courtesy of my guy JP.

Ecuador 2 - Argentina 0

With all the hype surrounding the UCL final, I almost let the ball slip on posting about the new
F50i Tunit's that Lionel Messi will be kitted in for tonight's match. FINALLY, Adidas have made a
boot that will compete with the slickness and sophistication of the Nike Mercurial Vapors and
Superflys!
Kaká, Dunga and Adriano ponder tonight's clash with Argentina
Brazil head to Argentina today knowing that a win could see them qualify for next year's World
Cup in South Africa. Dunga's men need the three points in the estádio Gigante in Rosario and
require Colombia to beat Ecuador in Medellin earlier in the day.
A late late winner from Martin Palermo gave Diego Maradona a much needed win against Peru.

Amazing. A second match at altitude (though nowhere near as high as La Paz this time, and against a
much better team than Bolivia), and for the second time running Argentina lose, this time when they
didn't think they could afford to slip up at all. There really might not be any further room for

Football is a funny game - this is the sport where anything, and I mean
anything, can happen completely out of the blue. For example, no one ever imagined
that Brazilian star Ronaldinho, who was literally unstoppable not too long ago, would suddenly
become as anonymous as he is nowadays.
After trying his best to engineer a move away from Anfield in the summer, rumours are flying again
that Javier Mascherano wants to leave Liverpool. So where's the problem? Why can't Liverpool just
let him leave?! There seems to be this idea that Mascherano is somehow integral to Liverpool's
success, but I disagree.

Carlos Tevez sees his two-year loan contract at Manchester United come to an end today – but it
would appear he does not wish to leave Old Trafford quietly. Sir Alex Ferguson: Won't be pleased

of first-team .
The streets of Estonia can apparently be quiet confusing.

partidos.
¡Qué trágico! for poor Diego Buonanotte. If you haven't heard, the
influential River Plate midfielder was involved in a fatal car crash which
killed three of his friends on Saturday. And according to the Argentinean dailies,
Diego, who is in the hospital now frequently wakes up in the middle of the night asking "what

Carlos Tevez took his time leaving the pitch after he was substituted today, waving at all the
stands. The decision to sub him off was met with boos from all around Old Trafford and as Sir Alex
Ferguson gave his speech at the end, the Stretford End sang over the top of him, telling him to
sign Tevez up.
This post originally ran on sister site Project 2010. It's a good piece that addresses a
hot subject in US Soccer. Thus, I have reposted it here.
We'll admit that we have never been Bob Bradley's biggest fans, but we've also tried to refrain
from calling for his head.
Now what? Well, first of course there is the matter of trying to win the group with a victory
Wednesday at home over Costa Rica. The match, to be played at Washington's RFK Stadium, won't do
much at all for the USA with regard to World Cup seeding I don't believe. And the US will be facing
a team with everything to play for, as Costa Rica tries to avoid finishing fourth and having to
face a South American club in a playoff (Uruguay sits in that 5th CONMEBOL spot right now, but
hosts 4th-place Argentina in the finale Wednesday).
