Fantastic game in Melbourne last night. Is it me or does this stadium lend itself to exciting
games. Fast, furious and full of entertainment.
Is it the surface, or the proximity of the crowds?
Harry Kewell was superb in Melbourne last night as the Victory defeated the Jets 2-1.
Returning to his left wing position - wonder what Mehmet thought - Kewell simply did what everyone
knows he can.
Here's a nice little video about Archie Thompson which was put together by Fox Sports. All credit

Melbourne Victory trio Harry Kewell, Mark Milligan and Archie Thompson have been named in Holger
Osiek's Australia squad to face Saudi Arabia in next weeks World Cup Qualifier on February 29.
Kewell has been in solid form over the last month and Mark Milligan, since joining the Victory on
loan in January has also impressed.
It looks like Jim down South, sounds like Jim and according to those in the know it will be
Jim.
And while Australia Coaching stocks are at an all time high the Victory are unable to set a new
course or claim to be an innovative club if they take on honest, but still unproven Jim.
He dropped Broxham and Brebner from the midfield and that for me gives him a huge tick, a huge
insight.
Wellington were not in this game and will better shooting from Archie Thompson this could have been
6-0. As it was Archie who set up all three goals - all magnificent.
Victory showed us why they are the most entertaining team to watch. But. Also why they, on average,
perform so badly. Too many balls pushed too long with little chance of reward - just giving the
ball away.
The show is dedicated to Archie Thompson - is he moving on after his latest tweet.
Catch all the A-League news ahead of the finals and which team dropped 3,000 per week this season -
this in a season when we had record crowds and more than 10,000 per game per week once more.
A-League on the up.
Melbourne Victory Football Club can confirm it has been made aware of an alleged domestic incident
involving Archie Thompson and his wife, Emily, which has been referred to Victoria Police. Managing
Director, Richard Wilson, today expressed his concern in respect to Archie and Emily Thompson's
circumstances; "The club takes allegations like this very seriously.
Back in 2003 when the NSL died and we had to wait an eternity for football to be played
professionally again in Australia it all seemed so grim.
And yet we true believers have been on a roller-coaster of emotion, more so, much more than any
other code.
Most codes rumble on with their home and away season, great crowds in AFL land, less so in League,
and Union is a nice part-time sport tacked on at the edges, domestically at least.
