The CONCACAF Champions League has reached the midway point in the group stages and it is not at all surprising to see Mexican clubs doing well. All of the country's representatives are on top of their respective groups and it looks increasingly likely that the quarter-finals will contain a quartet of Mexican teams for the third consecutive year since the inception of the current tournament format.

With only eight matches remaining in the 2010 season it's do or die time for the Chicago Fire. The team's failure to pick up wins against Toronto and Philadelphia last week places even more importance on their ability to pick up points against top teams like RSL. There seemed to be a ramped up sense of urgency around the team this week as the "games in hand" advantage begins to disappear.

Another week of hot CCL action. Ok, hot if you are in Columbus or Salt Lake. For the rest of us its another week of watching the tournament. TV Listings are from Champions League official site.

Champions League in the 2:30pm slot: Fox Sports regional networks have Chelsea - Marseille (10pm - FSC), Fox Soccer Channel has Partizan - Arsenal (5pm - FS+), Fox Soccer Plus: Ajax and Oguchi Onyewu's Milan, and Fox Sports en Espanol: Auxerre - Real Madrid (5pm - FSC, 7:30pm - FS+). CONCACAF Champions League on FSC: Toronto - Salt Lake at 8pm.

With Group A victories tonight, Real Salt Lake and Cruz Azul can punch their tickets to the knockout stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Salt Lake travels to BMO Field to take on a desperate Toronto FC team (8 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel) that has had it's MLS playoff hopes slip away while its star player is concurrently upset with his contract situation.

All Real Salt Lake needed to advance to the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League was a little Javier Morales.

Following a foul drawn by USA national team striker Robbie Findley during Tuesday's match against Toronto FC, Morales netted an absolutely sensational goal off of a free kick in the 68th minute of play.

Jacob Peterson's 19th minute goal gave Toronto the lead at BMO Field on on Tuesday night in Group A of the CONCACAF Champions League. With Real Salt Lake hopeful of advancing to the knockout stage with the win, they ended up only needing a 67th minute free kick goal from Javier Morales to get a point and move on.
