There's no real surprises here, but it's interesting to note that Kelly got the nod over Degen for the group stages. Aside from that, it's business as usual and there's just 10 days left before we start our campaign.
Goalkeepers - Reina, Cavalieri, Martin
Defenders - Johnson, Agger, Insua, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio, Kyrgiakos, Darby, Kelly, Dossena
Midfielders - Aquilani, Gerrard, Mascherano, Lucas, Riera, Benayoun, Babel, Spearing, Plessis
Forwards - Torres, Kuyt, Voronin, NGog, Amoo, Eccleston

2:45pm, live in the US on FSC. Also, if you have DirecTV (which I couldn't recommend more), you can get all the Champions League games on channels 461-469. And supposedly, most if not all will be in HD, but I'll believe that when I see all the glorious pixels.
Last 3 matches:
Liverpool: 4-0 Burnley (h); 3-2 Bolton (a); 1-3 Villa (h)
Debrecen: 1-0 Paksi (a); 3-1 Nyíregyháza Spartacus (h); 2-0 Levski Sofia (h)
Referee: Pedro Proenca (POR)
Guess at a squad:
Reina
Johnson Carragher Skrtel Dossena
Gerrard Lucas
Benayoun Kuyt Riera
Torres
With a midweek game following an international break, and a trip to West Ham on Saturday, there are bound to be some changes, no matter how well Liverpool played last time out.

Bookmaker and Liverpool FC partner Paddy Power caused a predictable outrage when they opened betting on "the next Liverpool player burglary whilst they are playing".

Take a minute to soak in what a stupid, yet tastelessly hilarious idea that was.

As you can probably guess, betting was quickly shut down after the club found out about it and some fans contacted Merseyside Police, who probably weren't too keen on the idea of giving burglars even more financial incentive to rob players, considering it's already happened more than a dozen times, including the 2007 incident where Steven Gerrard's wife was held at gunpoint during a burglary while he was away for a Champions League match.

£80million

Right so; two players left two teams from the EPL for hotter climes this season; which have neutered two sides. Xabi Alonso was the first and now Liverpool find themselves at a loss to explain what it is exactly Lucas brings to the side. With two forgettable wingers, (although I do rate Riera at times) Stevie G finds himself clipping his fangs; meandering around the centre circle for 80mins.

Nice, I Like
Beginning next season, Premier League teams will be required to have 8 home-grown players out of a squad of 25, according to measures introduced today.
According to the league's chief executive, Richard Scudamore, "one of the benefits will be that it will help the England team," and it will give clubs an extra incentive to invest in youth.
