FC Milwaukee defender Brittany Von Rueden continues to make an impression on the U.S.
women's national team coaches.
U.S. Soccer women's technical director April Heinrichs called Von Rueden in for another
Under-18 camp, which starts Saturday in Chula Vista, Calif.
Mequon's Von Rueden, a senior at Milwaukee DSHA who has verbally committed to play at Notre Dame
next fall, was part of four Under-18 national team camps in 2011 – most recently last month in
Florida.
I arrived tonight in Vancouver, B.C., for the FIFA/CONCACAF Conference on the FIFA Women's World
Cup in Germany 2011. After looking through my brochure, I'm excited to see that many coaches,
instructors and staff from FIFA projects I've worked on previously, and many of my fellow
Americans, will be here.
U.S. U-20 WNT midfielder Morgan Brian and Technical Director for the Women's National Team April

I was invited to the Home of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland, for the Women's Football Instructors
Seminar, from March 20-23, 2012. My work with FIFA is generally focused on Marketing and
Communications for Com-Unity Seminars, so I'm not really sure how to express my gratitude for this
incredible opportunity to come be a part of what I'd call, "coaches week," in Zurich.
Pia Sundhage (left) is tied with Anson Dorrance with 92 coaching appearances, and Abby Wambach
(right) is in a ninth-place tie with Shannon MacMillan with 176 caps. Both could move up their
respective lists Sunday against Japan. U.S. Women's National Team head coach Pia Sundhage will
pass National Soccer Hall of Famer Anson Dorrance in coaching appearances this Sunday.
U.S. WNT forward Alex Morgan has 12 goals so far in 2012. That got us to wondering, how many
players in U.S. WNT history have scored 12 or more goals in a calendar year?
Turns out the answer is: 29
Following is a list of the best goal-scoring years in WNT history, led by Michelle Akers' near
impossible probably-never-to-be-broken 39 goals in 1991.
