When the Philadelphia Union signed Costa Rican defender Porfirio Lopez in the offseason, he was
supposed to be the long-term answer for the team at left back. But with four games completed
already, it's seeming more likely that Gabriel Farfan will regain the starting spot he possessed
last season.

Ah yes, if it isn't the guys of Bayern Munich in their traditional Bavarian
costumes! On a wet, rainy Monday yesterday, Thomas Mueller, Arjen Robben, Manuel Neuer,
Philipp Lahm and co' arrived at the training ground for the club's annual photo shoot with
a beer company.
Today, the Chicago Fire sent out the shortest press release I've ever seen from the club.
Outside from the standard information, here are the contents:

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- The Chicago Fire's worst match on record this season is their 4-2 loss during
the Portland Timbers' home opener on April 14.
It marked goalkeeper Sean Johnson's worst performance and a demotion behind Jon Conway. The Fire
trailed by a season-high three goals at one stage.
Fire's Diego Chaves -- Getty ImagesBRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- The post-Carlos de los Cobos era begins for
the Chicago Fire, and it is no secret that interim head coach Frank Klopas' squad has a deep hole
to climb out of.
The Fire are 1-4-6 and have tied a franchise-worst nine-game winless streak (0-4-5).
Fire's Diego Chaves -- Getty ImagesBRIDGEVIEW, Ill. -- The Chicago Fire offense possessed the ball
for almost 70 percent of their scoreless draw against the expansion Vancouver Whitecaps last
Saturday.
They garnered a miniscule point in the standings and no goals to show for their efforts.

a chance to see the team prepare for the home opener on April 14 versus Chicago, but it gave many a
firsthand look at the significant changes in the grounds. While pictures may display the depth of
some changes, I can honestly say they don't do the updates complete justice.
Two photographs of Liverpool's away shirt for the 2011-12 season have been leaked on the Internet.
The new away kit is supposed to be launched by Liverpool on April 14. Designed and manufactured by

With my wife and I celebrating our anniversary for a few days, there's been plenty of Timbers news
around before the home opener so I provide some recaps to the big events. I'm pleased about the
improved play and the potential for something special when the team opens JELD-WEN Field on April
14 for their first ever MLS home match.
