With Chelsea looking to be headed in the downward direction in the English Premier League
standings, can it be time for Arsenal to overtake them and claim the fourth spot? I wrote yesterday
before the Scolari firing that there was trouble with Chelsea, and that appears to be even more,
but Arsenal has to take advantage of these opportunities if they want to be considered one of the
top teams in all of Europe.
John Terry's mom? You bet!
The PFA Player of the Year nominees are now out, and what a farce they are. It's not that five
Manchester United players have been nominated for the main award that I find farcicle. Nor that
Steven Gerrard is the only representative from the 19 other clubs. Nor that Aaron 'I can run very
fast but I get a little stumped when I have to do something with this ball thingy' Lennon is in
with a shot of winning Young Player of the Year.
With the Champions League quarterfinals a thing of the past, here are eight things I noticed
from the last eight.
The Usual Suspects
So, here we are again. Three English teams and Barcelona square off for the Champions League
semis for the second consecutive year. No doubt Michel Platini will have already dusted off his
Panini stickers and erected a Barcelona shine in his 'salon.
So what makes a great goal? I know it seems a easy question but honestly, what makes a goal
truly great? Is it the goal that keeps a side up or a lob from the half way line? The goal that
drags a side back in to a game when they're 2-0 or a last minute winner in injury time? Everyone
has a different variation on what they judge to be a great goal or what the ingredients are that
makes some goals stand out above all others.
Two points behind Man United and three points clear of Villa with thirteen games to go in the
season, Liverpool clearly have some questions to ask themselves if they are to win their first
ever Premier League title. 1.
Will the Reds continue to win with Gerrard on the shelf? Saying that Stevie G.
Following last week's Champions League quaterfinal first legs, the remaining eight teams have a
very clear view of what they need to do this week. With two English sides in action today and
another two tomorrow, fans around the country are all anxiously awaiting their team's kickoff.
Here are my predictions for the matches:
Bayern Munich v Barcelona
I know what you're thinking.

At long last, Tuesday April 7th is here. Yes, it's Chelsea youngster Franco di Santo's
birthday.
Okay, that's not why you're here, and it's not what I'm excited about. The Champions League
quarterfinals are finally here. Funny enough, less than 50% of the teams remaining are "champions,"
while only a few of the other competitors are even in the hunt for a domestic title this
season.
I thought it was about time to do a monthly post like this. Shame it was so late but as the saying
goes, better late than never. And this month isn't a bad place to start either. We played 8 games
with mixed success; if I was put on the spot I would say more negative with our semi-final defeats
to Utd and Chelsea.
