It's time to meet today's lovely lady. 25 year old Chloe Mosley a Personal Trainer Chloe from
Stevenage. Chloe is a natural beauty with the most beautiful blue eyes we've ever seen. For those
of you who used to watch Soccer AM when it was good (Lovejoy era) will remember Chloe's appearance.
What does it say about Arsenal when their reserve team last night beat Sheffield United 6-0 in the
Carling Cup? Maybe the tournament should be renamed the Arsenal Youngsters Cup? Here are some of
the impressive young starlets who played last night: Kieran Gibbs. Midfielder, 18 years old, only
made his second appearance for Arsenal last night.
I heard a while back that our David was going to make an appearance on Sesame Street this season,
but all I knew about it was that he was alleged to have beef with Oscar the Grouch. And now that I
have seen a photo of him on-set I have more questions that I did before. Questions like, who's
hairier, Becks or Elmo?
Games with Chelsea tend to be quite memorable and hyped up. Little, however, was made of the most
recent encounter between the two clubs. Admittedly it was the two sides' reserve teams that met
yet, given that they play in different sections of the league, it was an unusual encounter
nevertheless.
It may still turn out to be a memorable one, however, as the friendly featured the first reserve
team appearance of Lauri Della Valle.
Apparently everybody wants a piece of Gooch, not just the bangin' bird in the photo. Exactly who I
can't say, but Soccer 365 has been in contact with his agent, Will Sherling, who says that since
the big man's Champions League appearance 24 hours ago he's received bids & overtures from France,
Spain and the BPL.
I've always wanted to see an American playing for FC Union Berlin again (since Ryan Coiner left
in 2005) and soon it may be possible. Union is one of the über-cool rock and roll teams that
may not always be successful, but has a pretty hip band of supporters (not unlike FC St Pauli).
The Brad Guzan Era is over. Guzan is no longer a member of Chivas USA.
El Guzano, the boy who became a man and won over Chivas USA's fans in the process, is on his way
out. A source just confirmed that Guzan is on his way to Aston Villa in a deal that has been
finalized and will see Guzan head to the English Premiership effective immediately.
I'll admit, Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Wisla Krakow wasn't the most exciting pre-season match I've
ever seen. But it did feature the appearance of Daniel Pacheco, who was the best player on the
pitch in Liverpool's win over FC Lucerne....
I didn't say this on the Screaming Eagles Podcast, because I wound up spending more time
talking about him than I usually do on an opponent. But there was a moment in his post-game press
conference that told me a lot about him. Early on, he interrupted himself to note
that a tape recorder next to him on the table had stopped.
Miki Roque is expected to join FC Cartagena on a season long loan as the young defender tries to
put his career back on track.
One of the many young players brought to the club by Benitez in his first months in charge, Roque
progressed better than many had expected and even made his Champions League debut against
Galatasaray.
Manchester United travelled down to face Sir Alex's Ferguson's son's team, Peterborough, winning
with a rather generous 2-0 scoreline. Whilst this was another good opportunity for our lads to get
to match fitness, the main talk revolved around the appearance of our Brazilian twins, who we've
been hearing trickles of news about every 6 months or [.
There's an old 1962 movie with Charlton Heston (don't ask me how I know that) that has a very
appropriate title for this match: "The Pigeon That Took Rome". CFR Cluj being the pigeon,
a.k.a the David that no one knew but who at his first UCL appearance defeated the big Roma Goliath.
Italian manager [.
A public information announcement... Following Newcastle United chairman Mike Ashley's Ashburton
Grove appearance in the Toon end with pint in hand, the Football Supporters' Federation is looking
for any fans ejected and/or prosecuted for drinking in sight of the pitch this past weekend to come
forward.
After all the fuss surrounding Jay-Z's appearance at Glastonbury I thought I'd
share with you this fantastic little clip from Shooting Stars. Enjoy.
Schalke, currently sitting at the top of the Bundesliga, have surged ahead to the peak of another,
less prestigious table - the goalkeeper injury table. First choice keeper Manuel Neuer has yet to
make an appearance this season, having broken his fifth metatarsal during a pre-season friendly
against SpVgg Erkenschwick (currently playing in the [.
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has moved to quell speculation that he and his manager Rafa Benitez
have fallen-out.
Agger has struggled to break back into the Liverpool first-team after nearly a year out through a
metatarsal problem.
During his absence, Rafa Benitez signed Martin Skrtel as a replacement and the form of the
Slovakian has seen Agger relegated to the bench this season, unable to force his way into the team.
Gary Neville saw out the first half for United in our friendly against Aberdeen yesterday, in a
match that we won 2-0. After making just one appearance for the first team last season, coming on
in the second half against Roma in the Champions League, Neville is eager to prove his fitness and
fight for his [.
We'll officially announce shortly that we've released goalkeeper Jose Carvallo. The Peruvian
joined United on January 28 of this year, but never really fought his way into the first team. He
made a lone first team appearance on April 12 when the team lost to Real Salt Lake 4-0. He also
made six reserve team appearances (five starts), putting together a 2-2-1 record and 1.
Kudos to Nancy Lieberman who, at age 50, showed her stuff in an appearance for the suspension and
injury-depleted Detroit Shock last night. She scored no points, but made a no-look pass that
brought the house down! The Shock and the LA Sparks were both seriously understaffed due to
suspensions and both lost their games [.
Cory Gibbs, the ever injured American center back who signed with MLS yesterday has joined the LA
Galaxy pending a medical examination sources close to the negotiation say. Gibbs was with
Charlton Athletic for two years, but he never made an appearance for them, spending most of his
time on the injury table.
Devn McTavish - otherwise known as The Bachelor - will make his final appearance on the Carson
Show this afternoon around 4:30 p.m. to discuss the final ten candidates in Mix 107.3's date Devon
contest. The winning lady will be decided by your votes, so head over the Mix 107.3 website to
vote. Voting ends tomorrow afternoon, so make your pick (I'm voting for Abby).
New Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has wasted little time in declaring his aim to shoot down arch
rivals Arsenal this season. Pavlyuchenko arrived at White Hart Lane from Spartak Moscow in a
reported £14 million deal last Monday and while he is yet to make an appearance for his new
employees the Russian ace is [.
Should the US qualify for its sixth straight World Cup in about eighteen months' time, the team may point to last night's entertaining and at times electrifying scoreless draw at a packed Giants Stadium as the shot of confidence needed to conquer CONCACAF.
Note only did the Yanks battle toe-to-toe with the world top-ranked Argentineans, but strong individual performances from Tim Howard (who stood on his head to keep a clean sheet), Landon Donovan (in his 100th US appearance) and DaMarcus Beasley (his best game since returning from a long injury) should carry the US past through the fall qualifying sequence with ease.
At six foot five, the 28-year-old FC Twente captain is a towering and commanding presence in midfield and also one of the tallest players in the Eredivisie. Orlando Engelaar made his international debut for the Netherlands in a friendly against South Korea on June 2, 2007 and his only appearance in the Euro 2008 [.
I have this U2 bootleg of them playing a tiny club gig (for U2 at least) at New York's Irving
Plaza. After the 1st song Bono says that putting them on that stage was akin "trying to land a
747 on your front lawn". I think that same statement could be applied to Brand Beckham making
an appearance at KC's Community America Ballpark.
This weekend could see the debut of Mikael Silvestre who has finally overcome a muscle injury. The
former Manchester United defender is likely to be benched for the clash against newly-promoted
Hull, although he may start ahead of either Kolo Toure or William Gallas if Arsene chooses to rest
one of his first-choice defensive pairing.
In an attempt to get out of the shadow of their much smarter, more handsome and successful older
brother, the Champions League, the UEFA Cup will overgo a minor appearance change to get some
goddamn attention. So they're going to emulate the older brother and adopt the Champions League's
group stage of 4 teams, each [.
Liverpool goalkeeper Charles Itandje is expected to follow Harry Kewell to Turkish club
Galatasaray. The 25-year-old Frenchman arrived at Anfield last summer as a back-up and did not make
a league appearance for the Reds. He did play in the...
Looks like Jimmy Conrad has been named to the MLS "First XI" for the All Star game coming
up against West Ham United in Toronto. This will be Conrad's fifth consecutive all star
appearance.
While Conrad is on the "First XI", that doesn't mean he will be starting the game at BMO
Field. He's just been selected to the team.
As you know, tomorrow we face the Columbus Crew at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN 2 in our first MLS Primetime
appearance of the season. We're 0-2-0 so far this season against Columbus but haven't lost a game
since they gave us that nice 3-0 beat down here at CAB. If you recall, the defeated us 2-1 in
Columbus earlier this year on FSC on early goals from Moffatt and Rogers.
If you have enough blind faith that your club will turn it up to 11 during the final half of the
season and make it to the MLS Cup final in November, Ticketmaster will be glad to take your
money....now. Even if you don't fancy your teams chances but you need an excuse to go to LA I'd
recommend making the trip.
Video below from Head Coach Tom Soehn's appearance on Washington Post Live on Tuesday.
Bournemouth have signed Liverpool's teenage striker Craig Lindfield on loan until the end of
December.
Lindfield has yet to make a first-team appearance for Liverpool, but had loan spells at Notts
County and Chester City last season.
He will be in Bournemouth's squad for Saturday's League Two game with Exeter City and Kevin Bond is
happy with his new recruit.
Forget the Galaxy for a minute. We may have another L.A. rivalry match in the works. If
Hollywood United can get past Seattle, Anthony LaPaglia's crew will take on Chivas USA in the
HDC.
That's one of the potential third-round pairings announced today.
Many thanks to the staff at USOpenCup.
Abdoulie "Kenny" Mansally got his second appearance for the Gambian National Team today
in a 1-0 loss to Algeria today, coming off the bench in the 87th minute. Mansally made his debut
off the bench over the weekend.
Gambia now sit 3rd in Group 6 of World Cup Qualifying from Africa. Gambia must finish at least
second to have a chance of advancing to the next round.
Angel didn't play - he just made an appearance. Also, not to tell my ESPN editor what to title his
own posts, but it looks like according to Theirry Henry, it should be called, "Jason Kidd can
ball?" Yeah, and where's blogMaverick covering the things that really matter?
David Beckham is "amazed" by all the hoopla over his newest underwear ads for Emporio
Armani, he writes today on his blog. A giant billboard of his topless torso was unveiled last
week on the side of Macy's in Union Square, San Francisco, followed by an appearance where the
soccer celeb signed autographs for a few hundred lucky fans.
Perhaps Emmanuel Adebayor is getting paid per appearance in the news - or even by consecutive days
where a "new" story has broken about the Arsenal striker's future. Less than 24 hours
after AC Milan declared - yet again -...
Astrit Ajdarevic is likely to leave Anfield this summer, and as he begins a trial at NEC Nijmegen
the Netherlands seem to be his most likely destination.
The Kosovo-born Swedish youth international arrived at Anfield in 2007 from Falkenbergs, but has
yet to make a first team appearance for the Reds.
After two years in the Coca-Cola Championship, West Brom returns to the top flight of English
soccer as the team best primed to make a run at survival amongst their fellow promotees. Tony
Mowbray's club made a surprising appearance in the FA Cup semi-finals last year before being
knocked out by Portsmouth, the eventual [.
