Andy Gray has been sacked by Sky Sports according to Sky News.
The former Everton, Aston Villa and Wolves footballer, who rose to new fame as one of the top
football analysts in the United Kingdom on Sky Sports, was sacked due to sexist comments made about
female assistant referee Sian Massey who made her second appearance as an assistant referee in a
Premier League match on January 22, 2011 for the Wolverhampton against Liverpool match.
For anyone who might have missed it, Theo Walcott had this to say after Arsenal's FA Cup third
round match against Leeds:
"I want to apologise to the managers because I actually dived. I was trying to win the
penalty.
"I had a little joke with the referee afterwards saying ‘that was my first dive, can you
tell?

Keys: "Somebody better get down there and explain offside to her."
Gray: "Can you believe that? A female linesman. Women don't know the offside
rule."
Keys: "'Course they don't.
By now everyone must have read Theo Walcott's apology for a ‘dive' against Leeds. The reaction
that I've read has been mixed. Some people just needed an excuse for Arsenal bashing, others
including yours truly thought it was a silly thing to say, but there were also those who found this
act praiseworthy.

Thanks to Dimitar Berbatov's world-class 'Bulgarian Shuffle', yesterday's damp
squib of an FA Cup tie between Manchester United and Liverpool was effectively settled after just
30 seconds had elapsed which, all-in-all, precipitated a fairly dire subsequent 92-and-a-half
minutes of featureless toil.
Liverpool forward Ryan Babel has been fined £10,000 and warned about his future conduct by the
Football Association after admitting a charge of improper conduct relating to comments and images
posted on Twitter concerning referee Howard Webb.
Babel incurred the wrath of the governing body when tweeting a doctored photo of referee Howard
Webb wearing a Manchester United shirt following Liverpool's 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on January
9, which saw the match official award a contentious penalty to Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has chosen to focus on youngster Theo Walcott's improved
efficiency amidst controversy that followed the player's confession of a dive against Leeds United
in the FA Cup first leg fixture between the two sides.
Walcott, who told the Gunners' official website that diving was certainly not a part of his
game, apologized for his desperate attempt at earning a penalty in his club's 1-1 draw at the
Emirates a little less than two weeks ago.
Kickoff from Anfield at 20:00 GMT and 3:00 EST.

It was a performance worthy of Alan Partridge at his lowest point, evoking classic lines such as
"Have I got a second series?" and "Smell my cheese you mother!" At least there was no Castrol GTX
bomber jacket.
In using talkSPORT's Hawksbee & Jacob Show as a platform to tell his side of the story, Richard
Keys needed only to keep the mantra "Say sorry, be humble, get the fuck out" at the forefront of
his old-school mind.
An apology to the TSG community on our "editoring" around Michael Bradley's loan move.
In August of 2010, TSG commented on Jozy Altidore heading to Besitikas. It was off a media
report, that said the deal was finalized. Of course, as we know, didn't happen.
So, at TSG, we went over August and took a look at which media reports and tweets for primarily
American sources, twitter feeds and publications but also using this site Football Transfer League
were most accurate versus their frequency.
