In the latest from The Special One (and friends) Jose and It go on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire to
raise money for the Berbatov Appeal. There's also a not very convincing apology to Nani, the return
of Ameobi super-fan Dave, another mysterious glimpse at Capello and - déjà vu alert - the
promise [.
A moderator at Ready to Go Sunderland Message Board has contacted me, and apologized for the
behaviour of the commenters there. I appreciate his concern and I accept his apology. I asked that
the thread and my account at RTG be deleted and it has.
As far as I am concerned, the matter is closed.
Take a look at this absolutely out of control tackle in the Premiership action last weekend.
I had heard the story and didn't pay it much mind until I saw it.

More Splendid Life's series on the history of soccer in Toronto. Today focuses on the historic
Canadian Championship final game between Toronto FC and the Montreal Impact, and as readers of this

As always, the Super Clasico brings forth quite a bit of emotions from players on both sides. The
games themselves are heated and intense but after the match is when the emotions can sometimes
spill over.
Chivas' locker room after April's 5-2 loss was very quiet. It was quiet there a lot during April
and early May but that match was particularly quiet.
"He's come out and said he wants to speak to me, but he sent me a text message on Monday night
saying he's disappointed with what's happened. In my eyes, that text message doesn't do the justice
of what a phone call does."
"I'm not saying that he hasn't tried to apologise, but maybe it could be different.
Hello friends...
Just a brief note to apologise for the lack of posts appearing on the site recently. The reason for
this has been a particularly bad spell of illness I've endured since last Tuesday. For the vast
majority of the time I've been confined to bed, sneezing, coughing and generally feeling (as my Mum
always says) like 'death warmed up'.

See? It isn't really that hard. Have Blanco issue the non-specific apology, keep quiet about
details about which you probably know nothing about, and we can all move onward. Don't have your
head coach start mouthing off, don't have your PR director start issuing excuses, just handle
things quietly and efficiently and let the inertia of the MLS bureaucracy bury things to where
nobody cares about them anymore.
So the Champions League draw has paired us with Twente from Holland. Twente have recently installed
a new manager who we English know very well.
The Wally with the Brolly aka Steve McClaren, returns to English soil for the first time since he
inspired England to a 3-2 Wembley defeat at the hands of Croatia.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has today praised referee Rob Styles. United profited
from an extremely poor penalty decision from Styles during their 2-0 win against Bolton at Old
Trafford on Saturday.
Cristiano Ronaldo was taken down by Bolton defender Jlloyd Samuel, however replays clearly showed
Samuel getting a touch on the ball.
It's been a few days, apologies for that but at the same time there has been very little going on.
First, the Samir Nasri saga - a claim was placed on Nasri's website, indicating that a

It seems that Micah Richards isn't the only Manchester-based England defender
to be banned from something today (look at that for an example of the seemless linking you can
expect from the new and improved thematic STT) as an aspiring national captain has found himself in
quite a bit of hot water after his rage at Stamford Bridge near the end of last season.
Liverpool have completed the signing of Robbie Keane in a deal worth £20.3million but the
fall-out with Tottenham over the transfer continued following more comments from Daniel Levy.
Spurs chairman Levy has dropped his complaint against Liverpool to the Premier League but insisted
he did not "regard it as a transfer deal" due to the way the deal was conducted.
Chicago Fire midfielder and Mexican legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco has been banned from U.S. Open Cup

United States Soccer Federation panel in response to Blanco's actions in an Open Cup quarterfinal
match against D.
First of all, sorry for the lack of a post yesterday. I was stuck at work for most of the day
without a computer so I literally couldn't post. And one more apology- I'm not typing this from my
regular computer so no pictures or cool links in this entry (Sucks, I know). But I promise to go
back to regular posting from tomorrow on.
We begin with an apology.
When we said yesterday that these were exciting times and that various football competitions were
going on around the world except for one which was about to start (i.e. the Premier League), we
were being slightly economical with the truth.
Not that these aren't exciting times, etc, etc - it was just the bit at the end about 'one
competition remaining that hadn't exploded into life yet'.
