I decided to compile a list of players who used to ply their trade in MLS that are now in the
Mexican league and have seen action in the Apertura 2007 season.
This list is compiled by yours truly and I probably left some players off. Actually, I'm almost
certain I missed a player. In fact, if you can think the the player(s) I omitted, I'll be grateful.

recuperara de un huracán, tuviera un equipo de primera división y salieran campeones, creo nadie
jamas lo imagino, ni siquiera el místico azulgrana, ni el centenar de fieles atlantistas que

aprovecharon el doble regalo del arbitro y anotaron el penal via Ramoncito Morales. Pero la
comisión de arbitraje esta extremadamente equivocada al mandar a este arbitro. Soy aficionado a
los Pumas pero que Aaron Padilla sea presidente de la Comisión de arbitraje y que haya sido
beneficiado la UNAM no me deja muy contento.
Este ultimo semestre del año fue para los potros de gierro o caballitos de mar del Atlante Cancun.
Entre Maldonado, Nkong , Hobbit Bermudez , Chicharito Hernandez y místico Pereyra , entre otros
dirigidos por el profe Cruz, lograron un equipo alegre y efectivo,ganador y ofensivo mucho mejor
que los llamados Lavolpistas.

actuación de los potros de hierro, perdon caballitos de mar. El recuerdo del estadio Azulgrana le
dio poder y suerte al Atlante ademas un ex-cruz azul anoto el gol, Gabriel Pereyra.
El regreso sera en Cancun y alla veremos si por fin el Chelitito Delgado aparece y juega bien en
esta enésima oportunidad que tiene de demostrar que es un jugador de verdad y no un pecho frió
cualquiera.

negarlo. Adoran a su equipo hasta después de la tumba, aquí una muestra. Por eso estoy contento
que hayan pasado a la gran final del fútbol mexicano.
La semifinal con los dos equipos del pueblo, el de antes(Atlante) el espíritu de Horacio Casarin
anda rondando el fútbol mexicano y el profe Cruz es un gran representante de el fútbol alegre y
de barrio.
I'm getting ready to watch the Mexican league playoffs. First up is Cruz Azul-Atlante on Azteca
America at 5 p.m. SoCal time, then it's San Luis-Guadalajara over on TeleFutura at 7 p.m.

que por caprichudo le hizo un berrinche feo a su compañero Scocco, por querer tirar un penal que
el propio Scocco había provocado.
El único equipo hasta el momento que ha ganado de local ha sido Pumas y lo hizo de buena manera a
pesar de que el primer gol fue precedido de una falta, después de eso el partido fue completamente
azul y oro.

El partido de hoy en la comarca fue emocionante no apto para cardíacos y los Pumas se complicaron
el pase gracias a unos apasionados guerreros.
Teclea tu email Agencias -El argentino Federico Vilar en la meta y el mexicano Clemente Ovalle, que
anotó el gol del triunfo, le dieron hoy al Atlante su tercer título del fútbol mexicano al
vencer 2-1 a los Pumas UNAM...

ex-jugador de los Azules, supo entender la segunda oportunidad en el fútbol mexicano y dio un buen
pase a Maldonado para que este anotara el gol lapidario .

In many ways, this upcoming two-week stretch will be a unique one in Mexico.
The Apertura season is down to four teams as Santos will play Pumas and Chivas will meet Atlante in
the Liguilla semifinals. But those aren't the only clubs alive in the quest for glory. Club America
will play Arsenal de Sarandi of Argentina in the Copa Sudamericana final.
When the InterLiga calendar came out, I was excited that Pumas UNAM would finally be a part of the
tournament. Since I began covering the tournament in 2005, Pumas hasn't been a part of the field
because of their league results, both good and bad.
Now, though, they may again evade InterLiga once again.
When last they played a first-division match, Puebla lost to Tigres 3-0 on May 8, 2005. Afterward,
Los Camoteros were relegated to the Primera A division and fell into relative obscurity.
After two long seasons in Mexico's second tier, Puebla won promotion back to the first division. On
Sunday, Puebla made its return to first-division soccer against one of Mexico's premier clubs.
Chivas beat San Luis 1-0 and Atlante beat Cruz Azul 2-1 as each team advanced to the semifinals of
the Mexican Apertura 2007 liguilla.
The two will now wait for today's results to see who they face next. Santos leads Morelia by a 2-0
aggregate and will host Monarcas today while Pumas visits Toluca also up by 2-0.

de Mexico, y si, por que asi lo quiso su tecnico que desde el primer partido jugo a especular a un

sus oportunidades.
Tal y como esperaba esta serie no seria de muchos goles no ser que en Cancun suceda algo muy
espectacular, que así lo deseo.
El portero Federico Vilar es grande y sin duda es el mejor portero argentino de la actualidad, que
me perdonen los argentinos que dicen saber y no pueden reconocer que en Vilar tienen la solución
en la puerta, super portero.
One of the storylines I've followed with interest from the Apertura 2007 season was the play of
Alain Nkong. The Cameroonian was deemed unworthy of continuing with the Rapids and tried his luck
in Mexico. He latched on with Atlante and was one of the last players signed prior to the start of
the season.
Looks like Miguel Calero won't play again this year.
Pachuca president Jesus Martinez said that the club's captain and goalkeeper will be out of action
for six months, which rules him out of the remainder of the Apertura 2007 season, Copa Sudamericana
and the Club World Cup.
It's disappointing that Pachuca won't have the opportunity to defend their titles and try for
another one with their full squad but such is life.

The most appealing series at first glance is Toluca-Pumas because of tradition mostly. Pumas hasn't
been one of the best teams in the league but watching them go up against Toluca is still enticing.
The respective first legs of each quarterfinal series in Mexico are over. There were some
surprising results...
Santos 2, Morelia 0. Okay, so this isn't one of them. But it's particularly significant because
Edgar Castillo scored a goal for Santos. Can't say for sure but he might be the first American to
ever score a goal in a Mexican league playoff game.

orden, proponiendo el partido sin dejar en algún mometo que Santos hiciera su futbol, Sccoco
salió inspirado y fué lider de los del Pedregal....
Hace un año sea el 2006 se festejaban los golazos del bofo al estar entre los tres mejores goles
de la Liguilla 2006 donde quedaron campeones.

After a long few months where the Mexican national team garnered unmolested national attention, the
league will now take its turn as the focal point in Mexico. The Apertura 2007 campaign will start
today as defending champions Pachuca visit Tecos.
If you follow the Mexican league like I do, we are both likely in the same boat, excited at what
will surely be another dramatic season.
Highlights of the Pumas-Atlante match from the weekend. Former Rapids man Alain Nkong scores the
winner and also gets a red card. Both are within the first minute of this clip.
Mexico ratings after week 3:
1. Pachuca (3-0-0). Probably the best team in the Americas right now.
2. Santos (3-0-0). A Matias Vuoso sighting; Santos will be downright scary if he can regain his
form.
3. San Luis (2-0-1). Destroyed Cruz Azul at home; newcomers Tressor and Alfredo Moreno (no
relation) already making huge impacts.
Nacional did not manage to beat Fenix away; Nacho Gonzalez managed to score in a new season before
his departure for Europe; Defensor Sporting and Danubio predictably won their games.

2. Pachuca (3-1-0). GK Miguel Calero's bothced free-kick of Santos' Daniel Luduena proved costly in
1-0 loss.
3. America (2-0-2). Best offense in league thus far.
4. Toluca (2-1-1). Jose Pekerman will take Toluca back to top of table.
5. San Luis (2-1-1). Own goal away from drawing Toluca at Nemesio Diez.
Boca Juniors - Huracán 1:0
Ledesma (pen.)
Despite a loss on Bombonera, Huracan looked solid. The penalty was questionable enough for
Huracan's coach Mohamed to be sent off for protesting against it. Boca has gone the riquelmeless
period in the best possible manner having collected virtually the maximum of points. With Riquelme
they are about only to improve.
Pachuca goalkeeper Miguel Calero was operated successfully on Sunday at the University of Minnesota
Medical Center. Pachuca's skipper had deep vein thrombosis, a type of blood-clot ailment.
Calero is expected to be out for at least two months but might be out quite a bit longer. According
to the report, Calero is likely to remain in Minnesota for the next several days and return to
Pachuca afterward to begin his rehabilitation.
Without Miguel Calero, Pachuca shockingly doesn't seem like their usual selves.
Friday, Pachuca fell to Veracruz by 3-0. It was the third consecutive league match without Calero
and the second straight one they've lost. Friday's affair was particularly distressing. Humberto
Hernandez, a 22-year-old youngster who has done nothing but thrown gas on the fire, was sent off in
the 25th minute as Pachuca played a man down for most of the match.
America took the first leg of their Copa Sudamericana series against Millonarios by 3-2 in
Colombia.
Now, America needs just a draw in the return leg next week to advance to the final, which would be
their first-ever in a South American cup tournament.
America has a league match on the weekend - a Saturday date in Monterrey - so the club will be
quite busy in the coming days and weeks.
If Club America can pull off either the Copa Sudamericana title or the Apertura 2007 championship,
they will only add to their already grand lore. But if the club can pull off the double, they will
set a new standard that even Pachuca didn't achieve.
America is currently alive and well in two campaigns. Today, the Mexican club will host Millonarios
of Colombia in the second leg of their Sudamericana semifinal series.
Pachuca has regularly played in front of raucous crowds during their magical year-plus run in
Mexico. On Wednesday, los Tuzos set out in search of yet another title.
A couple of things happened, though, that haven't happened often.
Pachuca lost to Cruz Azul 2-0 and is now on the brink of elimination. Only a complete turnaround in
Estadio Azul on Saturday will prevent Pachuca from crashing out of the Apertura 2007 season.
