Around midday today Judge Luis Rodríguez, in an effort to avoid further confrontation, decided to suspend the match between River Plate and Newell's Old Boys to take place at El Monumental.
This is on the heels of the bloody week outside the pitch for Los Millonarios. One of the main members of the team's barrabrava Los Borrachos del Tablón (The Balcony Drunks) was shot and killed earlier this week as a result of the power struggle going on within that group.
