The weeks that have passed since Kenny Dalglish was dismissed from his role as manager have been
filled with anxiety, mostly brought about by the fact that all we've done and really all we can do
is wait. We waited to hear for the details of Dalglish's firing (which we never got), we waited to
hear what sort of plan the owners were executing in their search for a new manager and Sporting
Director (which we never got), and now, with Brendan Rodgers all but appointed, we're still waiting
for the club to officially confirm that he's the next Liverpool manager.
Selection fears for England internationals after Hodgson's arrival - originally posted on

The arrival of a new manager should bring fear and anxiety to players – but for all the right
reasons. Out with the old and in with the new, this is the time for players to impress the new
manager.
A lot of the luster for the Olympic Qualifiers this weekend in KC wore off on Monday night, when
the US drew 3-3 with El Salvador, knocking the Americans out of the tournament before they even got
to Kansas City. Instead this weekend in KC we're going to see Mexico, Canada, El Salvador, and
Honduras take the field in the semifinals on Saturday with the winners of those games meeting on
Monday night.
TweetChelsea travel to the Estadio Da Luz to face Benfica in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions
League quarter-final clash with Benfica which, we admonish, could get messy for the Blues. "I think
there is an anxiety in Chelsea by the lack of goals from Torres and Drogba," so said Benfica winger
Nicolas Gaitan ahead [.

In which Manchester City goliath Yaya Toure is confronted, evidently for the first time, with
the loathsome phrase first proffered into the football lexicon by Sir Alex Ferguson and now
repeated ad nauseum by the Shearers and Dixons of this world 'squeaky bum time' grimly inferring
that the anxiety bought about one's footballing predicament is making one's sphincter twitch like a
bunny rabbit's nose.
The blog I don't want to write.
No one knew what had happened as we were watching the ball slide off for a throw but
straightaway realised it was serious because both sets of physios dashed onto the field. The player
lay face down and still. I wondered out loud if the urgent attention paid to his head meant he had
swallowed his tongue but quickly he was on his back.

Don't just sit there Robin. Get a fourth
That's our first rout of the season. The first of which we won and not the other way around. You
can count the Chelsea game as one but then it was not as one sided as this was. Blackburn tormented
us the last time we met and this was sweet revenge being exacted.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis was interviewed by Fox on Sunday and he said that Arsenal
will never be able to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City in the transfer market
but believes Arsene Wenger's focus on developing young players is the correct way to run a football
club.
Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has expressed relief at the club's recent back-to-back wins
over the Wolves and Portsmouth, and hopes that the Blues can continue to perform well.
A lack of stability has hindered the Blues' prospects of domestic success this season and with
Stamford Bridge not being the fortress it has been in recent years, Malouda admits that the team is
particularly concerned about the home form.
Anxiety is mounting among Chelsea fans as to whether the club will offer their icon Didier
Drogba a new deal that would keep him at the bridge longer. Drogba's contract is set to run out
this summer and according to coach Andres Villas-Boas he is hopeful that Drogba will sign a new
contract with the club.
I feel for Chelsea fans who yet again had to endure another loss 2-0 home loss to Liverpool last
night. I mean the first loss although hard to accept was a bit understandable, however, suffering a
similar loss with an identical scoreline to the same team in less than 2 weeks is simply
unacceptable.

Not a sight you thought you'd ever see, eh? Indeed, Garry Flitcroft's professional career ended
in March 2006, four months before Twitter was publicly released.
The reason for the blonde-haired midfielder's return to the limelight is the Leveson media ethic
Inquiry, with Flitcroft giving evidence.
As the season approached, there was quite a bit of anxiety about Newcastle United's prospects for
the season. The club finished midtable in the previous season, dropping from 9th to 12th position
after blowing a 3-0 lead at home to ...

What Went Wrong for Liverpool Against Norwich - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Kenny Dalglish unleashed an attacking lineup versus Norwich still Liverpool were only able to
gain a single point from the game. Liverpool had many opportunities in a frenzied contest, but just
could not see off the challenge and for worst they conceded.
The cartoon featured today on Sport.es right expresses the anxiety we Barca fans have about
International breaks. It's not like we lost so much after International breaks, but there is no
denial that a number of our lackluster performance came following the break. But this time around
we shouldn't have such thoughts crossing our mind as the cartoon say "We got Andres Iniesta - The
Anti FIFA Virus Guys".
The end of an international break. Love it. It's like the first day of school. Back to work.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on signing £8million Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia in the
January transfer window.
There are claims this morning that the 25-year-old Argentinean has been on Arsenal's radar since
the summer. Biglia left Independiente for Europe in 2006 and he is under contract at Anderlecht
until 2015.
There are certain days on the football calendar when even the most level-headed, tolerant fan
allows the throes of passion, anxiety or excitement to send any sense of reason and long term
judgement spiralling out of the window to be replaced by an almost Neanderthal desperation, with
either joy or fury displayed beyond any normal boundaries [.
It's been quite a week for the Arsenal. Some fans calling for the manager's head, some insisting
"In Arsene we trust" and others sat nervously on the fence wondering whether there is a light at
the end of this seemingly dark tunnel, quietly hoping that their club will pull through causing
them anxiety if not painful splinters!
Listen, I have had my say on Saturdays performance and you guys have expressed your opinions too
whether you agree with me or not and that's fair enough, but the point I am trying to make was that
everything we had worked on in pre season and looked like implementing simply disappeared in the
first half.
Diego Forlan's father says the striker is poised and ready to join Inter Milan as a replacement
for the Russia-bound Samuel Eto'o
Inter have agreed to sell Eto'o to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in a deal worth a total of 29
million euros, and his expected departure leaves a gap in the Inter squad that could be filled by
Forlan.
Whoever said kids should be seen and not heard has not been watching the U-20 World Cup. Stand up
and shout boys, this has been one hell of a tournament. Watching the semifinals this weekend was
euphoric and anxiety-inducing, just like good football should be.
Where to begin? With Portugal's one-for-the-ages penalties win over Argentina?
Two days away from the final friendly of the preseason and just over a week away from the season
opener against Sunderland, and there's plenty time for things to change in terms of personnel.
Discussion this morning (noted earlier in the week by Noel) has a deal done for Jose Enrique and
more talk about a loan deal for Joe Cole to QPR (who's apparently sold his home in Liverpool).
Morning all, I think I've got Arsecast anxiety. The 'cast will return next week but last night I
dreamt I was a DJ on a radio station in Tokyo called Kiss FM.
I had to read a list of the top 5 albums of all time and it was bizarre. Like 5
Nhinti Krumpahoter "Vvvvvvvvvxxxx Me" and 4 Goshma^brunOO) "Makajimi
௹✱⚉___@th" and I had no idea how to pronounce any of them.
As I have mentioned before, this time of the year is a trying one as our emotions sway with every
new rumour that emerges. In the case of rumours linking Cesc Fabregas to a move to Milan, only
excitement tinged with a slight anxiety is felt. Conversely, talk of Amauri being signed by the
club [...]
Brandon Marshall has had a number of incidents off the field that have left many wondering
whether he was a bad apple. On Sunday, Brandon Marshall announced that he may have found an answer
for his behavior. The superstar wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins says he has been diagnosed
with borderline personality disorder.
Could there be any more dire penalty taking than the Selecao display against Paraguay?
Elano and Andre Santos were completely off target while Thiago Silva's effort was saved by Justo
Villar. Each miss left the Brazilians in the stands looking incredulous.
At the other end Paraguay kept its nerve after Edgar Barreto dragged his shot wide left.
There was a time when I spent a few hours every day browsing the Arsenalsphere. In the last 10
days or so I don't think I have totaled an hour of surfing. There is so little going on.
First a random player is linked. Then the supposed transfer moves forward. One day, according to
unsubstantiated reports, a player is close to signing as terms are settled.
Tonight kicks off what I would consider to be the second most important international soccer
competition outside of the World Cup for the United States, and, yes, I'm including the Summer
Olympics in that statement. The Summer Olympics are fun, but largely resides outside the world of
FIFA.
Yes it was basically the New England Revolution reserves. Yes it wasn't a league game. But it felt
good tonight to get a win. And a big win it was. A mix of starters and reserves took it to the
Revolution, winning 5-0 thanks two a pair of braces from Chance Myers and CJ Sapong on a night when
it started to rain right before kickoff and continued to rain throughout the game.
We get the fourth and final El Clasico Tuesday and Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola is expecting
an anxious evening at the Camp Nou despite his side's 2-0 first-leg lead over Real Madrid. REal
Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka played down criticism of his side's approach in the first
match as he said José Mourinho's touchline ban would not be a problem for Madrid.
At yesterday's promo event for his new HE by MANGO venture, Gerard Pique detonated the footy
gossip world's A-bomb equivalent as he gushed over his great life:
"I'm at a very happy point of my life. I don't know if its the happiest, but I'm having a
very good time. I'm at the best club in the world, the best selección [translation: national
team].
Latest rumours claim that NESV will be taking a decision on either redeveloping Anfield or going
for a new-build option in the coming weeks. There is anxiety amongst all supporters, especially
those living in Liverpool, to know what the outcome will be.
John Henry has recently stated his desire to possibly redevelop Anfield.
Forget, for a moment, the tantalising news that Thomas Vermaelen may be as close as two weeks
from returning (albeit to the reserves); forget also the mouth-watering prospect of a Xavi-inspired
Barcelona coming to town. Wenger is spot on when he says:
"The best way to be in a good position to beat them is to defeat Wolves on Saturday".
It's ironic that we've lamented all season long about our need for a creative midfielder, yet a
glance at the table appears to indicate that we aren't exactly struggling with creating the chances
to score goals.
How many games have we played in the league this season without scoring? 3 games.
