Sir Alex Ferguson has sung the praises of Antonio Valencia who was arguably our best player on
the pitch in the 5-0 win over Wolves.
"He could be very important," said Ferguson. "His form before he got the injury was
outstanding. Now he is back we hope he stays back fit. He is such an honest, hardworking
player.

Not the debut we hoped for
A 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester United with each side coming on top in one half is not the
worst of results. However, the manner in which we lost the game, left a bitter taste in the mouth.
After what happened in the reverse fixture early in August, many Arsenal fans (including me) wanted
to exact revenge but also conscious of the fact that we want to avoid another thrashing.
The massive clash at Stamford Bridge this weekend could see Chelsea put out a back-four with two
new starters Ryan Bertrand at LB and Gary Cahill at CB. They could be joined by two of Luiz,

David Silva is behind more goals than any other midfielder, having a total of 17 goals and
assists, followed by Gareth Bale on 16. Nani and Mata are tied on 13, Valencia and Nasri on 10,
Giggs with 9 and Young on 7. However, when you take in to consideration the games they've actually
played in, specifically focussing on starts, Giggsy comes out top with an impressive 1.
A big sigh of relief at the end of the game but why did we have to sigh at the end when it was so
comfortable for so long in the match? It was because once Manchester United took a 2 goal
lead,...

Antonio Valencia was rested last night in order to help bring Ashley Young and Nani back to
fitness. He was brought on in the second half though and ran through the defence before giving the
ball to Rooney, who set Chicharito up for our second.
However, he only lasted ten minutes before being subbed off with an injury.
Antonio Valencia has been one of United's best players this season, which is why it is so
frustrating that he picked up a hamstring injury in his ten minute substitution appearance against
Ajax.
After suffering a nasty injury the season before last, which saw him miss most of the season, he
admitted he was worried this latest injury would keep him out for a long time.
How strange it was to watch Manchester United play on a Thursday night in a European game. As the
players lined up, they heard the anthem of the Europa League which was uncharted territory for
anyone...

for our trip to Tottenham next weekend.
"The availability of Ashley Young and Nani as natural wide players considerably strengthens
our attacking options," Ferguson wrote in the programme for Ajax.

Antonio Valencia,
Gonna beat a man or two,
Antonio Valencia,
He's from Ecuador, it's true.
Watch him running down the wing,
Watch the trophies he will bring,
Watch Old Trafford rise and sing,
It's a goal,
So nice one Tony.
This is Pete Boyle's latest attempt to get a song going for Valencia.
Ahead of tonight's game against Fulham, Antonio Valencia has spoken about the pride in the city
of having the best two clubs in the country, although is focussed on making sure United have a
points advantage ahead of the derby.
"There's a lot of pride in Manchester that our two clubs are the best in England," said
Valencia.

Valencia scored our opening goal in our vital 2-0 victory over Blackburn this week and
celebrated wildly, something very out of character for our Ecuadorian. He later dedicated his goal
to Dragan Miranovic who gave Valencia his big break when he was at El Nacional at the start of his
career, who sadly died of a heart attack.

Firstly, what the hell is up with that. Why are United playing on Monday over and over again?
Don't they know they are completely losing the US audience sitting in offices at that time? How are
the Premier League bigwigs letting go off such a huge revenue opportunity?! Maybe the 39th game can
be in USA!
Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the form of Antonio Valencia since his return from injury. In the
16 starts and 20 overall appearances, he has scored 4 goals and assisted 12.
"What can I say about his form? He's been unbelievable," said Ferguson. "When he
first came back into the fold after his long-term injury I played him at right-back one or two
times with Nani in the forward position.
Rafael da Silva has claimed that United have been so strong down the right flank this season
because of his understanding with his best pal Antonio Valencia.
"To be honest, I think it's well recognised by everybody that Antonio has been one of my
best friends at the club," Rafael told MUTV.

begrudging acceptance that the opposition deserved the win and were the better side for
