Sevilla are Spanish Cup champions for the second time in three years! Ah si, it's a
title they thoroughly deserve (oh come on Atletico, you already won the UEFA
Europa Cup) The first thing these tipos did was to dedicate the win to Antonio
Puerta and celebrate with their fans.
After the tragic deaths of Antonio Puerta and Dani Jarque, and the indefinite retirement from
football by Ruben de la Red,
Spanish football recieved another kick in the teeth with the
news that
Sevilla defender
Sergio Sanchez has to withdraw from all footballing
activity. The Andalucian club had carried out medical tests on all the whole first team squad, with
the young defender returning results that showed he suffers from a heart problem, the exact nature
of which is still unknown.
El jugador del Sevilla Sergio Sánchez que actualmente se
encuentra fuera de las canchas por un problema cardiaco a sus 23 años

The Sevilla Trio in more harmonious times.
When Sevilla hosted cellar-dweller Xerez on Tuesday evening, an aura of uneasiness surrounded
the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. In the front of the Sevillistas' minds was the
poor form of their team. An extended run of indolent performances culminated on Saturday evening
with a 2-0 debacle against Espanyol, where Sevilla would lose Jesús Navas for a month with an
ankle injury.
Referee Alfonso Pérez Burrull had many situations with which to deal in this match.
While Real Madrid and Barcelona run away from the rest of the field in the struggle for the La
Liga title, the tussle for the next four European spots is just as fascinating. The mix of teams
truly runs the gamut from the usuals to the upstarts.
Sevilla 2 - 0 Atletico Madrid(1-0) 5' Capel, (2-0) 91' Jesus Navas
All the talk before the final was about who wanted it the most. Who was dreaming more about winning
the final. Even now I think it's impossible to say. Diego Capel and
Jesus Navas
scored the goals that ensured the
Copa del Rey would be travelling down to

It's not often that football brings you to tears. While everyone has seen the fans crying on
television when their team are relegated or lose in a cup final, rarely does one see moments of
tears amongst raw emotion. Today, however, as Ruben de la Red announced his retirement, was one of
those rare moments.

Andrés Iniesta became one of the few Barcelona players to be truly loved by Espanyol fans with
this gesture.
Before the biggest match in Andrés Iniesta's career and in the history of Spanish football,
Iniesta had a trillion thoughts running through his head. One of those thoughts that came to
fruition was writing a message to his close friend, Daniel Jarque, on his undershirt.
