Cesare Prandelli trimmed down his squad list from 32 to 25 players for the friendly against
Luxembourg on Tuesday evening at Stadio Tardini of Parma. Those that didn't "make the cut" are
goalkeeper Viviano, defenders Astori, Bocchetti,
Criscito, and midfielders Cigarini, Schelotto,
Verratti.

Messi, Ronaldo, etc. Anything Golden, that's just how it goes.
The table will likely look this way for a few years, perhaps only the top two to swap places
from time to time. (Basically it's La Liga on an individual level.
Incredibly, there are others who score goals beside Lionel and Cristiano.
Serie A: Just Football's Team of the Season 2011-2012 is a post from: Just Football

In 4-3-3 formation....
GK: Gianluigi Buffon

A relatively easy call to make. 'Superman' has been back to his best form in Serie A this season
and won his fair share of points for La Vecchia Signora with some outstanding personal
performances.
As I mentioned before, I am not entirely convinced at the Azzurri's chances of success at Euro
2012. The squad has not enthused me during their qualifying campaign and although they retrieved
Antonio Cassano from injury, the absence of Giuseppe Rossi coupled with the unpredictability of
Mario Balotelli and still relative inexperience of Sebastian Giovinco makes me doubt the
goalscoring efficiency of Italy's strikeforce.

As the European Championship draws near, over the past week-end Azzurri coach Cesare Prandelli
revealed his preliminary list of 32 players from which the final 23 who will be making the trip to
Poland/Ukraine this Summer.
There were several surprises, such as newcomers Mattia Destro (Siena),
Emanuele Giaccherini (Juventus), and Ezequiel Schelotto
(Atalanta), but also "old-timers" who despite their vast amount of experience have not featured yet
under Prandelli's reign: Rubin Kazan defender Salvatore Bocchetti, Bologna's

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon This season Buffon has restored his reputation as one of the World's
greatest goalkeepers. He endured a torrid previous 12 months, injuries curtailing his involvement
with the Bianconeri. He certainly did not lack motivation to return and there is little doubt he is
the Gigi of old.
AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the leading goalscorer for the 2011-12 Italian Serie A season.
The striker scored 28 and was four above second place Diego Milito who scored 24. It's
Ibrahimovic's second Golden Boot in Italy as he also won in 2009 while playing for Inter Milan. The
list of the top goalscorers for the 2011-12 season are below.
Tears were shed from grown men on the weekend as we bid farewell to some fantastic players who have
graced Serie A. Alessandro Del Piero, Marco Di Vaio, Kaka Kaladze, Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro
Nesta, Pippo Inzaghi, Rino Gattuso and Gianluca Zambrotta played their last games for Juventus,
Bologna, Genoa and AC Milan.

The footballing world was rocked as 25-year-old Piermario Morosini collapsed on the field and was
confirmed dead upon arrival to the hospital. Just weeks after Fabrice Muamba of Bolton suffered a
similar situation, fans are once again reminded that football is just a game and there are more
important things at play than just who puts the ball in the back of the net.
guest writer Juan Arango We have become so accustomed to hearing players fight over a million more
or a million less. About television contracts and rights issues and the other things that make the
game the business that it has evolved into. There is selfishness everywhere and the only thing that
matter is the bottom line.
discapacitados).
It's the Tuesday before a weekend off, and we all know what that means: news is sloooooooooooow.
This week especially I'll probably be drawing heavily on news from outside Foxboro and New England
just to fill the Rounds and make sure you guys stay captivated and informed. In other news, today's
my birthday!
The weekend's tragic death of Piermario Morosini, which saw football in Italy cancelled, has
permeated the sport.
Unfortunately, his life was equally as tragic as his death, losing both of his parents as a
teenager, his brother to suicide a couple of years ago, and he was responsible for taking care of
his physically disabled elder sister.
Italian soccer is still in shock after the passing of midfielder Piermario Morosini, so much so
that Udinese captain Antonio di Natale is considering retirement at season's end.

cardiac arrest.

As we are sure you must be aware by now, Livorno's Piermario Morosini collapsed on the pitch on
Saturday during his side's Serie B game vs. Pescara. Despite efforts to revive him, he passed
away.
At 25-years-old Morosini had already suffered terribly in his life, losing both his parents
before he was eighteen and his disabled brother shortly after.

Immense stuff from Udinese hero Antonio Di Natale, who has vowed to take guardianship and
provide both financial and emotional support to the sister of former teammate Piermario Morosini
the Zebrette midfielder on loan at Livorno midfielder who died at the tragically young age of 25
after collapsing on the pitch in Serie B this weekend.
Juventus moved on top of the table, AC Milan lost at home, Udinese moved up to 3rd place, and
much more in the Serie A on April 7, 2012.
AC Milan 1-2 Fiorentina
Milan appeared to be heading for a routine victory as they led 1-0 at halftime. Fiorentina would
change all that with an early second half goal and a late one to get the surprise win.
With Manchester United and Manchester City crashing out of the Europa League, Chelsea remains as
the only English team competing in Europe - as they still remain in the UEFA Champions League for
the moment.
What's even more interesting is that with a solid performance this week in the Europa League, there
might be more Americans currently competing in European competition than English players-

Antonio Di Natale was the only notable absentee as an otherwise full strength Udinese faced
Eredivisie league leaders AZ Alkmaar on Thursday evening. This was only the third time the
Bianconeri had reached the last sixteen of this competition, and it was Antonio Floro Flores
leading the line again in Europe.
Ibrahimovic marked his return from his three match suspension by scoring a hat-trick in Milan's
4-0 win over Palermo yesterday. The win coupled with Juve's 1-1 home draw with Chievo pushed the
Rossoneri 4 points clear at the top of the Serie A.
Of course Juve still have a game in hand which should they win will bring them level on points
with Milan, however, the Bianconeri will still remain in second spot because of Milan's superior
goal advantage.
Francesco Guidolin's Udinese headed into the second-leg of tonight's Europa Leauge Round of 32 tie
without a win in four, knowing they needed a big result in Greece tonight. The talismanic Antonio
Di Natale was still sidelined with a foot injury, as was long-term absentee Mauricio Isla. Guidolin
opted to start duo Diego Fabbrini and Antonio Floro-Flores in attack.
AC Milan produced a stirring comeback to beat Udinese 2-1 thanks to late goals by Maxi Lopez and
highly rated youngster Stephan El Shaarawy. The prolific Antonio Di Natale had given Udinese the
lead in the 19th minute when he looped the ball over Marco Amelia and into the net. The hosts then
spurned numerous [.

Below is a recap of all the Serie A matches on February 11, 2012.
Udinese 1-2 AC Milan
AC Milan scored a late goal to move top of the table. Udinese's Antonio Di Natale scored in the
19th minute while Maxi Lopez scored in the 77th minute and Stephan El Shaarawy scored the winning
goal.
Big blow for AC Milan's title hopes as striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been suspended for three
matches for his red card against Napoli, meaning he will miss the top-of-the-table clash with Serie
A leaders Juventus.
Ibra was sent off midway through the second half of Sunday's 0-0 draw with Napoli at the San
Siro after he slapped opponent Salvatore Aronica in an off-the-ball incident.
