The weekend of May 18-20 will be one to forget for the Stars as they started their inaugural
season in the National Premier Soccer League with two successive losses.

In their league opener on Friday, May 18th, the Stars traveled to Bethlehem, PA where they lost
0-2 to FC Sonic.

A couple of penalties from Lionel Messi and a goal from Andres Iniesta saw Barcelona dispatch AC
Milan 3-1 in Tuesday's second leg and on aggregate and move into the semifinals of the UEFA
Champions League for the fifth year in a row.
Milan drew level at 1-1 on the half-hour mark when Antonio Nocerino capitalized on the visitor's
first real attack, putting the Italian side in the driver's seat temporarily based on away
goals.

Not that we wish to brag but, as the prophecy once again foretold, AC Milan's
superb, frenetic and knackering defensive shift ensured that Barcelona were kept schtum in a
Champions League tie for the first time in two-and-a-half years and that the Rossoneri upheld their
record of having never lost a Champions League quarter-final game at the San Siro.
FC Barcelona was held to a goal less draw at the San Siro stadium by AC Milan in the first leg
of Champions League Quarter Final. A brilliant defensive display from Milan, coupled with a
horrible pitch was good enough to negate any Barca threat. Arsene Wenger did complain about the
state of this pitch, but I never throught it was this bad.
Max Allegri has named his squad for the Parma clash. Clarence Seedorf as expected has not been
included along with Alexandre Pato and Gennaro Gattuso who is out for six months. Surprisingly
Thiago Silva has been included but it is doubtful he will start. GOALKEEPERS – Abbiati, Roma
DEFENDERS – Abate, Antonini, Bonera, Mexes, Taiwo, [.
Wednesday's Champions League action saw wins for Europe's elite clubs with Barcelona, AC Milan
and Arsenal all securing wins with Chelsea being the only exception.
The Blues settled for a 1-1 draw in Valencia after taking the lead early in the second half
thanks to a Frank Lampard goal.
Adriano Galliani, Clarence Seedorf, Mark Van Bommel and representatives from Adidas as well as team
sponsors from Fly Emirates were all present for this First Live Blog Event from Milan. Internet
bloggers were encouraged to login and ask questions of the panel and players during the event, hope
other Serie A clubs are taking notes and plan on doing the same in the future.
