Rio Ferdinand has claimed that the dressing room atmosphere didn't match what someone might
perceive a dressing room to look like after beating AC Milan 4-0.
He says the mentality at United requires you to always look forward to the next game and how
this attitude is different to that of other clubs he's played for.

Our second draw in 4 days. Yet another match in which we were expected to win, although we knew
it would be a challenge from the moment the team sheet was released. Upon the completion of the
game, the most common reaction to the starting 11 was how much it resembled a Carling Cup side and
not one that was challenging for the biggest prize in Europe.
I've been waiting for this week in the rankings for months!!! This is when it gets exciting
again. Why? As the season goes on and clubs move up and down the domestic tables with less
frequency, the rankings tend to get stagnant and you see the same clubs in the same spots
week-after-week. After the end of the first knockout stage of the Champions League, however, two
things happen.
I got this idea from a comment by David in the Weekend that Was post. I thought it would be good
to name the best players on the three teams that were relegated: Atalanta, Siena, and Livorno.
Although all three teams will be plying their trade in Serie B next season, some players on their
rosters probably won't be sharing the experience.

that Ronaldinho and Kaka will be leaving their respective clubs in the January transfer window.

suppliers in anticipation of these moves.

The Philadelphia Union are preparing to take on the Tampa Bay Rowdies today in what will be their
last preseason test before their first season in Major League Soccer (hopefully) begins. It's true
that the anticipation and buzz surrounding First Kick has been doused by labor talks, but if
there's one person out there that's just happy to be around the game, it's the Union's Team
Coordinator Josh Gros.

I usually leave the worldwide aggregating and linking duty to Bruce McGuire and DuNord. How he
finds the time to ferret out all those great soccer articles between extensive beard grooming
sessions, I'll never know.
Generally speaking I look forward to April; the long, dark nights are receding, the sun shines
that bit longer and flowers start to bloom. All in all, there's a sense of renewal and anticipation
in the air. Unfortunately, spring also heralds the time of year when Sir Alex Ferguson cynically
begins his tapping up of our best players.
While most will be hanging on to ever call in South Africa, all the cool kids will be heading to
Singapore for the real World Cup: RoboCup 2010. Like the real World Cup, but for robots. With the
entire aim to defeat humans by 2050, and then take over the world. But not before their goalkeepers
improve their positioning.

It's technically after hours at Kickette HQ and a lot has fallen to the wayside since we

The Group G clash between Drogba's Ivory Coast and Ronaldo's Portugal failed to live up to its
hype and anticipation, in fact it was an incredibly boring goalless draw.
Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez holds his line perfectly, moving only when the ball was lofted
over by Rafa Marquez. Great bit of anticipation - and the Man Utd bound striker showed great
composure faced one on one with Hugo Lloris, side footing him, and in a perfect finish sending
Mexico one up.
It may have only been a 1-0 victory over tiny Slovenia, but England finally showed glimpses of
their class. Yes Wayne Rooney still didn't look 100%, and yes there were still a few momentary
lapses of concentration at the back.
But England looked like a side that played without fear or real pressure, they strung passes
together and created clear cut chances (that weren't put away!
He's 28-year-old Giancarlo Maldonado, most recently of Mexican club Atalante, and Venezuela's
all-time leading scorer with 19 goals in 48 appearances.
"Giancarlo is an experienced striker with international experience and the ability to

It really couldn't have gone better for Thierry Henry and the Red Bulls last night. Sure, it would
have been nice to actually win the game, but in the end losing hardly matters. Henry played, shone,
and scored. Red Bull fans have to be giddy with the anticipation of letting the Frenchman loose on
unsuspecting MLS defenses.

A brace from David Ngog all but puts Liverpool through to the next round.
Conflicted feelings seemed to rule the days leading up to this one at least for me, I felt a
great anticipation for things finally to turn towards the pitch that coincided with quite a bit of
anxiety about how the club would start the season.
I cannot confirm nor deny anything. In the last six months, this story has made our lives
difficult. At the moment, what is important is that when Cesc comes back, that he comes out. For
me, I have nothing more to add. The conversations with the players have to be private because I
cannot come out every time I speak with a player.
It is hard not to be slightly fearful with the new season almost upon us and I think that says a
lot. Even the ever optimistic Arsene Wenger was just 'hopeful' going into Sunday's game at Anfield.
When you have a great squad and a decent chance of the big titles then one has this eagerness and
anticipation combined with an almost naive over confidence.

Pat will be glad that Wenger is right next to him this Sunday
If Arsene Wenger was not sure yesterday, he is now. Cesc Fabregas has failed to recover
sufficiently from his hamstring injury and will miss out on this Sunday's game at Stamford Bridge.
There is no doubt that we could use a player of his class and invention in a game like this.
Hekari United are the defending champions
This weekend sees the beginning of a new campaign in Oceania's elite football competition, the
O-League. Having established itself as a regular feature of the football calendar since it was
rebranded with a new format in 2007, the anticipation ahead of this tournament is growing mainly
because of last season's shock victory of Papua New Guinea's PKR Hekari United FC.
