Perhaps it's the current culture for teenagers in America, but the U.S. U-20 WNT players seem to
have more tattoos, by far, than any U.S. youth Women's World Cup team in the past. About a half
dozen of the U.S. players have tattoos, including 11 on Sydney Leroux and almost as many for Toni
Pressley. Here's a pretty cool one on the right foot of midfielder Amber Brooks.
This week's little saucepot is sultry Kelly from Kent. Kelly has appeared on Broadway and
loves nothing more then watching her beloved Man United play. She's also massive McFly fan, yes,
she really is!
You can catch the lovely Kelly singing on the Official UKFF World Cup anthem very soon.
So, a while back, I put up a post about the anthem for this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
Initially, I thought it was a remix of the K'Naan song, "Waving Flag". Oh, how wrong I was...
Apparently, the K'Naan song is Coca-Cola's official song for the tournament (hence all the
subtly displayed Coca-Cola beverages being spilled by riotous fans).
Too many artists are coming out with songs that they hope England fans will adopt as the
anthem for this years World Cup. I think Cashbeatz and Guru Josh Project have hit the nail on the
head with this one...

Another "official" World Cup song has been named by FIFA and this time it is from the Colombian
born singer Shakira. She was recently given the title of official song for the 2010 World Cup. In
fact, Shakira will perform the song with South African band Freshlyground at the World Cup. But if
you ask anyone else what the official World Cup song is for this year's event they will tell you it
is K'naan's "Wavin Flag".
Bored with all those predictable World Cup songs which all sound exactly the same?
Well check out the UKFF's superb anthem FABIO, featuring The Mighty Mascots.
Pop star Shakira's official World Cup anthem "Waka Waka" has received an unofficial "No, no" from
South Africans.
The song, which is a collaboration with South African band Freshlyground, was released to radio
stations last week but has not hit the right note with football fans in the host country.

Today Umbro unveiled the new home kit for the reformed New York Cosmos.
This from the press release:
"As part of the club's rebirth, Umbro has applied its celebrated football-tailoring ethos to a
new on-field performance and off-field lifestyle line for The New York Cosmos club.
And what a goal it was! Oliver Bihuniak of Leawood scored that beauty this season to win his team
the match, and now he's up for the US Youth Soccer Goal of the Year award. You can vote for Oliver
here. He's currently in 3rd place. Help him out!You might remember Oliver from this video set to
the Blackpool Lights anthem a couple years back:
How can you not love this? And they say football isn't popular in the States. It's a niche
market... and football is doing just fine. Just because you're not paying attention (no, not
you... I'm talking about that other one over there) doesn't mean that football
madness in this country isn't going on.
Well, if ever there was a time to put this video up, it's tonight, as we are just 12 hours away
from our next defining moment against Ghana.
World Cup baby and die-hard USMNT fan Rivers Cuomo from Weezer cut this song and video, where on
the USSF youtube channel it's listed as the 'unofficial' anthem for U.
- It's been reported that Franck Ribery's wife is standing by her man, despite his admission to
engaging in (what he thought was) legal prostitution. It's ick to contemplate but for those not
following this human trafficking story, prostitution is legal for women 18+ in France. The girl in
question was 17 at the time.

2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa from EA Sports is coming very soon and packing a few significant
tweaks, including making what was old new again. For the World Cup edition of FIFA they're bringing
back old-school two-button controls but with the modern twist of adding a bit of intelligence to
those controls.
Inter defeated Roma at the Stadio Olimpico 1-0 thanks to a great goal from Diego Milito and win
their 6th Coppa Italia title. Inter now have one the first trophy of a possible treble, with
Scudetto and Champions League all left for the taking. First, it wasn't very official to play the
Roma anthem when the teams walked onto the pitch, seeing how it was supposed to be a neutral final
staged by the Lega Calcio.
After every occasion when we've played Stoke, I've been unable to comment on the match without
commenting on what a sad bunch of no marks their fans are. Last season, they were more obsessed
with hating Cristiano Ronaldo than they were supporting their own team. They boo our players off at
half time rather than applaud their own.
Project 2010 pals and fellow soccer enthusiasts Eux Autres (an indie rock outfit based in San
Francisco) have just released a new single called "World Cup Fever 2010." It's a little love
song/anthem for the World Cup...and it's totally free. We like the Marcello Balboa look-alike on
the cover, too.
By Dominic Vieira, writing from Portugal
Playing at a World Cup is the pinnacle of any footballer's career and they're all desperate to
play in them. Many footballers possess dual nationality which is granted through their parents or
the country they are born in.
So who isn't singing that Waka Waka song already? You know the official World Cup song?
I must admit that when I first heard Waka Waka I didn't like it at all. I was also thought it
rubbish that Shakira sang the song and not an African singer. But now, I hear bits of Waka Waka
here and there, and I must say, it is really catchy.
The Pepsi 2010 Football advert was the first to use the Oh Africa song Featuring Akon and Keri
Hilson and is now available to download as an MP3 or buy as a single. Its huge successful
advertising campaign has helped boost the levels of interest in this song and it is being
downloaded all over the world by different fans.
It was a transformation more complete than a Doctor Who regeneration. "North" Korea went from
"well-organised, but more than that, they can play" just before half-time to "this lot" by the end
of the BBC's coverage, by-passing "plucky" completely. In fact, the transformation was quicker than
that.
EA Sports released a video today featuring the story of "You'll Never Walk Alone," the song by
Gerry Marsden and the Pacemakers which became Liverpool's anthem.
The video shows Marsden walking viewers through Anfield and what the song means to him and
Liverpool supporters around the world.
You'll never swear alone Gerry Marsden, the man whose version of You'll Never Walk Alone was
adopted as Liverpool's anthem, has been giving EA Sports a tour of Anfield to celebrate the release
of FIFA 11. Unfortunately, he we think unwittingly gives a very neat appraisal of the current
squad. We just wanted [.
Wake up guys, it's CL time again. You know, the stars, the anthem, the teams who get paralysed
by the pressure (many), the teams who get galvanised by this pressure (Lyon, except when they had
too much chorizo, like in Benfica)
It's precisely because of the Benfica game, and the current form of Schalke, that there are
reasons to worry.
I love King Richard. Always have. Dude is always so over the top and grandiose even when he knows
his latest record is crap that you can't not-love him. But maybe I just love him because I have the
musical tastes of a middle-aged British man.
Anyway this sounds nothing like The Verve (who, on the off chance you are keeping score at home,
have now broken up for a third time) but was produced by Common, Kanye and Jay-Z producer No I.
This is Akon performing the official 2010 World Cup anthem Oh Africa with a little help from his
friends Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba. The Liverpool and Chelsea striker blast football-sized
paintballs onto a wall to create a mural of football's elite. Just a few of issues we have: 1.
England's flag is not the Union Jack.
He may have represented six different teams during the course of his relatively short career so
far, but Glen Johnson is in no doubt which set of fans have been the best to play for.
The 25-year-old had turned out for West Ham, Millwall, Chelsea and Portsmouth before joining
Liverpool last summer, as well as featuring for England.

For all the England supporters, a new footy anthem by Swagga called The Victory Bus. We all love it
when England does well in the World Cup as they have some of the best fans in the world, contrary
to there hooligan reputation. Go England.
The anthem of the day here at TOR World Headquarters is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Bad Blood".
It's off of their new album Beat The Devil's Tattoo, their first without drummer/headcase Nick Jago
who has been replaced with Leah Shapiro out of The Raveonettes.
You pretty much know what you're gonna get with BRMC and the new album doesn't disappoint.
Wavin' Flag (Celebration Remix) of Official 2010 World Cup Anthem by K'naan. I really like this
version better than the duet with David Bisbal, it's a great live performance that really captures
the emotion and the excitement that the World Cup is going to bring - can't wait.
Another unoffical anthem A World Cup song by Rik Mayall? Yes, I wasn't quite sure how that would
sound either. It turns out it is more like a piece of drama set to music. The Young Ones and Bottom
star (very appropriately dressed for today) recites a reworking of the words of Shakespeare's Henry
V. It doesn't really [.
Bring this one back as the weather is starting to finally warm up again. Sunny vibes from the
Malawi, London and New York that should have been the real World Cup anthem (sorry K'Naan). Oh
well, I guess it will have to be content with being the official TOR World Cup anthem.
Rangers finally landed the SPL title in what has been coming for many months now, but it
was not their only triumph over their Glasgow rivals today...

Both sets of supporters had campaigns to get their club's anthem to number one in the UK
music chart.
In the coming weeks, Fall's cult lead vocalist and founding member Mark. E Smith plans
to release his version of the England World Cup anthem. This will be made available via the NME
website.
The track will be entitled 'England's Heartbeat' and it is being released under the name
'Shuttleworth'.
More World Cup tuneage Jeff Christie hit the top of the UK charts in June 1970 with his
imaginatively-named band Christie. Their song Yellow River knocked classic World Cup anthem Back

Trick of Lions. It provides an unexpected little slice of [.
Today was my first day back in the office since last Wednesday's Champion's League Play-off, which
we rightly won (queue the Champion's League anthem).
I spent most of the day talking with the rest of the Spurs, Villa, Charlton, Man U, Liverpool and
Chelsea fans about our achievement. You'll notice the exclusion of any Arsenal fans in the previous
sentence.
Chelsea's Got Talent (just not for singing) Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti took to the microphone to
belt out his rendition of the Blues' anthem Cantare during their open-top bus tour to celebrate
winning the double. He might not have been note-perfect but he certainly put Petr Cech to shame
(allow him to burst your eardrums after the [.
