"Viva Ronaldo, viva Ronaldo, running down the wing, hear United sing, viva Ronaldo," our
fans sung every week, with the chant becoming a bit of an anthem during the second half of the
season. Ronaldo was on fire, scoring pretty much every match, and every week his song got louder
and heartier. We were closing [.
Following Chelskis example of introducing cheerleaders to Anfield Road is probably not the best way
to liven up the crowd. It's sad to say but Anfield Road can be disappointingly quiet at times, fans
clearly need no encouragement for the big games, but it's a very different story for the smaller
ones.

I've had it with the fawning over Toronto fans. At the most, I'll allow that they're better fans of
their home team than of anything else, including the game itself. However, the game, the concept of
the beautiful sport and believing in its worth and value, is something I hold sacred.
I don't, however, understand the point of Toronto joining an American sports league if they're
going to be so freaking rude about it.
LIVERPOOL fans have been banned from singing their famous anthem ‘You'll never walk alone'
after a series of complaints from corporate sponsors. The decision comes after Portsmouth were told
by the Football Association's commercial department to ‘shove those fucking cowbells up your
collective arse and let us eat our shrimp and caviar sandwiches in peace [.
I love the beginning of this story.
Hamburg - "HSV forever and ever," is the anthem of German Bundesliga soccer
club SV Hamburg, or HSV. Now fans can be true to their team after death.
Apparently not far from the team's stadium is a cemetery for Hamburg football fans.
It's the first of its kind in Europe.
Damn y'all I don't know what it is but I'm tits-over-tail for this new Kings of Leon record. I
never liked their first two LP's of dirty Southern twang, and only thought their last record was
OK. But this new one, Only By The Night, is killing. I'm still not over "Sex on Fire"
yet, and now they're dropping the U2-Meets-Journey anthem "Use Somebody" on me.
Rafael Benitez is hopeful a tactical switch off the field of play will help Liverpool generate an
atmosphere to send shivers down the spines of any side visiting Anfield this season.
The Reds boss believes the introduction of the Barclays Premier League anthem has curbed the impact
of the club's anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and feels that asking fans to sing the famous song
just prior to kick-off will help give his side a psychological edge.
Can anyone explain what it is about the Superliga that makes rock-solid MLS penalty kick takers
falter? LD last year, and now Jaime Moreno. Anyway, it would have been a wild way for DC to tie it
up, but instead, I'm waiting for the Dynamo to show something against Atlante now.
There's a shot of the Dynamo fans and their tifo before the game starts.
Another big eastern conference game at the newly-sanitized Meadowlands this weekend. RBNY v. TFC
with both sides part of the four-team tie for fourth place; NY, Toronto, DC and KC are all level on
25 points so hopefully one of these two can break away from the daisy chain because the basement is
getting crowded.
If you need a translation from the Bay Area hyphy-speak that rap legend E-40 is throwing out in the
image above to English, I would start with having a look at Wikipedia. The next --and most crucial
step-- is to check out the rotund rapper's "Slang of the Day". Once you have a handle on
the basics I'd suggest you check the video for his NorCal anthem with Keak Da Sneak"Tell Me
When to Go".
The coach wants it to be sung closer to kickoff and not as the players walk out.
"We thought it would keep the atmosphere right up until the kick-off and that way
the opposition is on the pitch when all the noise is in the ground."
He might have a good point, since there's a league anthem that has to be played before the match
and it often cuts into the Reds' fans rendition.
