Liverpool have won just two of their last ten Premier League games. However the Reds away record is
better than their home record and Norwich are not in the best form either, having also won just two
of their last ten fixtures.
The Brazilian international was ruled out for the season after damaging his anterior cruciate
ligament on his left knee in November that required surgery and subsequently ruled him out for the
remainder of 2011-12.
It was initially feared that the injury sustained in a clash with Juan Mata – could have ended
his career,but Lucas remains confident of a full recovery.
When searching for reasons to explain Liverpool's troubles this season, it's hard to look past the
injury to Lucas Leiva.
The Brazilian international, who has won over the fans after five seasons at Anfield, started the
season brightly for Kenny Dalglish's side as a first team regular under the Scot.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has returned to the club to continue his rehabilitation from a
season-ending knee injury and hopes to begin gym work in four weeks' time.
The 25-year-old has spent the past six weeks in his native Brazil, where he underwent surgery to
repair the anterior cruciate ligament damage suffered in the Carling Cup quarter-final win at
Chelsea in November.

first day of recuperation at Liverpool's Melwood training ground yesterday after spending six weeks

injured Lucas Leiva, who will miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament
injury.
Liverpool are being linked with a January loan move for Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra.
The 26-year-old is one of a handful of players in the position to be linked with the Reds, as Kenny
Dalglish considers his options following a season-ending injury picked up by Brazilian Lucas
Leiva.
Seydou Keita, Yann M'Vila and Sandro have also been placed on the radar, but reports in The
Independent claim Liverpool are plotting a loan move on the French international.
I think many of us were looking forward to seeing the face of Michael Essien on English Premier
League pitches some time this holiday season. It looks like we're going to have to wait a bit
longer, however.

Lucas sustained anterior cruciate ligament damage to his knee during the Carling Cup victory over
Chelsea on Tuesday, which is expected to keep him out of action of at least six months.

The swelling went down, the MRI was done, and the news came back confirming the worst fears and
least palatable rumours: Lucas Leiva will be out, at best, for the remainder of the season after
injuring his ACL. This is, of course, horrible news for the player himself, whose development into
one of the best holding midfielders in world football had finally seen a long overdue shift in
public and media opinion.

Liverpool's official website has posted a disappointing update on the status of midfielder Lucas
Leiva, revealing that the Brazilian will miss the remainder of the season due to knee problems.
Lucas played 70 minutes of the Reds' 2-0 win away to Chelsea in one of Tuesday's three Carling
Cup quarterfinals before being replaced by summer signing Charlie Adam.
