It looks like Joseph Ngwenya's return to the Houston Dynamo might not be happening after all, at
least not anytime soon. The Zimbabwe-born forward's last club, Turkish side Antalyaspor, has turned
down the Dynamo's request for Ngwenya's International Transfer Certificate (ITC), apparently due a
dispute between the player and the manner in which he left the club.
On January 5th, national daily newspaper Milliyet broke the story that 19 soccer matches in
Turkey have allegedly been fixed. English language daily Today's Zaman also reported this story the
following day. The 3,500 page report, prepared by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bochum,
Germany, was submitted to the Turkish Football Federation.
Week 20 of the Turkcell Super League could be the week where the standings could be shaken up.
It featured a top of the table matchup that could vault one team to the top of the table, or the
other team into serious contenders for the league championship. Kayserispor hosted Galatasaray in
the match of the week on Saturday.
U.S. international forward Brian Ching will miss the next 4-6 weeks of action for the Houston
Dynamo after straining his hamstring in last weekend's 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake, the
Associated Press reports. Ching pulled up near the endline while racing to keep the ball in play
during the first half of the game and had to be helped off the field and replaced.

Round One of the Re-Entry draft ended with only two of the 35 eligible players being signed to a
club. Looks like we're going to have to wait until next Wednesday to see the fates of JPA,
Schelotto, and Hejduk, among the 30 other players available.

finally able to re-sign striker Joseph Ngwenya after FIFA issued a new international transfer
certificate.
The five-week ordeal happened because Ngwenya's last club, Turkish side Antalyaspor, denied
Houston's request for the ITC.

They are in the second from bottom of the Turkish Spor Toto Super League at the end of second week!
Week 2 of the Spor Toto Super League featured two important matches that pitted previous
champions against each other. With the excitement of the opening weekend gone, the second week
featured matches that normally would happen later in the season. With the way that the schedule
came out, week 2 would whet the appetite of the Turkish football fan.
