In an attempt to contain my manic compulsion to read...absolutely...everything...(which really cuts
into writing time, dontcha know?), I'm moving to a new information-gathering method: relying on the
blogosphere and, oh, a site or two, to keep my current on all things Major, League, and Soccer. So,
with that mind, here's my request: If you run a [..
For those of you waiting patiently for updates, there won't be any until after Christmas. I'm
currently taking part in a research project in Oaxaca, Mexico and won't be posting until I return
to Gringolandia. addthis_url =

Since I started this blog at the beginning of the year, I've been surprised and honored by how the
readership of my blog has grown. I've been curious to know who exactly these people are who are
taking the time to read my website. So, inspired by Ives Galarcep, I'd like to do a Culture [...]
Time-wasting drills are employed and the game seems to be over. It will be interesting to see how
the Galaxy react to this as they are now 3-8-5 and losing steam. I'll give you some tidbits once
the press conference is over. Good stuff - see y'all later. 4 minutes of injury time announced
89′ Trusty [...]
So, for those of you who don't know me in "real" life, I am moving from Washington DC, where I live
now, to San Diego, where I will be starting a PhD program in anthropology in the fall. I've been
thinking about my trip across the country and how I can make it more interesting [...]
Apologies for the lack of updates. I'm on vacation now and will be until next week. I may post
something this week, but no guarantees. This is not me, though it would be nice if it were (photo:

46′ - A foul about 25 yards out gives Beckham the opportunity he wants. BLOCKED! Teams are coming
back out, we're ready to start the second half. No changes. Half-time. I'm going to get a cookie.
45′ +2′ - GOAL!!!!!!!! at the close of the half, Dane Richards dances and recieves some lucky
bounces but his [...]
In case you're interested, an article originally posted here has been picked up and published in
the Christian Science Monitor. The piece, which I titled The Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis and How
Language Affects our Understanding of Soccer, is in today's Monitor on the commentary page under
the headline Win or Lose, It's How You Say the [...]
I want to let everyone know that I am likely to only be posting twice a week at least for the next
couple of weeks. Having just started graduate school, I am focusing my energy on that endeavor. I
am hoping that I will have it all under control soon enough and be able to [...]
It's been a long 3 weeks since I last posted, and I apologise for the absence. I know most of you
have missed me and my insightful and entertaining posts, but despair no more for I am BACK!
I'll still try to post everyday from now, but if not, it'd still be at least once every 2 days. The
soccer season in almost every part of the world is now starting to kick into gear and lots of
interesting tidbits are starting to develop.
If you'll permit me a moment of self horn-tooting, I was recently interviewed by a Saudi journalist
about a previous post I did on Why Saudi Arabia's Players Don't Go Abroad. While he may have
slightly overestimated my knowledge of Saudi soccer, I am honored nonetheless to appear in the
online edition of Aleqtesadia [...]

As previously mentioned MLSUndergound has changed hands and will be changing format. As of today
(unlike the first day of the handover) there is only one person publishing & editing this site. So
no more mysterious disappearing posts! Again, there will be tidbits of gossip when available but
the new direction I'd like to take the site in is going to be about sharply focusing on MLS
supporters
