The big news out of the locker room this evening is that Ben Olsen has been named to the 18-man
roster for tonight's game. Benny has been training for the last week and a half and is attempting
to salvage the season after numerous ankle surgeries over the last nine months. His lone appearance
of the season came on June 29, when United beat LA 4-1 and Ben came on as a 75th minute
substitute.
Wizards captain, Jimmy Conrad, is now all star winning captain, Jimmy Conrad. Conrad played all 90
minutes, captaining the MLS all stars tonight against West Ham United at BMO Field in Toronto.
United put up a good effort against the MLS all stars. They grabbed the lead through Dean Ashton in
the 26th minute.
I have no proof that this is going to happen, but in my head I see Freddy Adu and Jozy Altidore
meeting in Andorra or somewhere in the Pyrenees mountains this week on a day off from training.
They'll sit at the bar, order a rare cognac (because those two are sooooo legal in Europe) and then
one of them will hold his snifter aloft and belt out the following toast:
"To Charles Renken, the next "next big thing" in American soccer.
MARKHAM - The man from center-mid made his presence known this weekend, using his new boots to
pot 4 goals in two games, leading Pistolas FC to victories over Titans FC and the Markham
Dynamo.
It all started Saturday, in a makeup game versus Titans FC. In a must win attitude, the team
came out gunning, and finally capitalized on Arbi's stop, setup, and shoot goal that got PFC on the
board 1-0.
I came across this site that sells sports stuff specifically for girls. It's pretty cool, and
they have a lot of nice items. For instance...
We have a girl on our team who can't seem to stay off the ground. She's always going in for the
tackle and never backs down. Her ankles take such a beating.
FORZA ITALIA Finally my 'adopted' team get to play in the Euro's when they
kick off their Group C match against the clog wearers of Holland at 20.45pm (local time).
The WORLD CHAMPIONS are without their captain Cannavaro who has injured his knee whilst
plying his trade for Real Madrid on their way to the La Liga title.
So you might have missed some of the game however you must admit that Turkey where unlucky tonight
against a mostly poor German side.
Turkey took the lead in this game. It controlled much of the play. They then fell behind but, once
again struck back in the closing minutes. This time maybe the Turks scored their late goal too
early.
J. R. R. Tolkien was a great dreamer. Which was perhaps why the Lord of the Rings was a rather good
fantasy novel. It had all those elements one would ask for in a well written fantasy: the good,
pure evil, adventure, perils, the good getting lured by the evil. So forgive me if I spend

If a team does poorly, or as is the case in modern-day football, fails to entertain, the blame
falls on the manager. That sounds right until you consider that if those bloody millionaires
running aimlessly on the pitch had followed instructions, and if the opposition had turned around
and grabbed their ankles as asked, the [.
Schalke's 3-3 draw with hated local rivals Borussia Dortmund this weekend was a Shakespearean
affair in just about all the senses of that adjective.
There was certainly history. The Blues may hold the slight all-time head-to-head advantage over
Borussia, but as any Dortmund fan will tell you, the men in yellow have won a league title in the
past half-century, whereas Schalke haven't.
Sometimes it only takes one player to turn a game from an almost genial affair, to your typical
men's game complaint session. We're winding down the adult leagues as well, and the men's playoffs
are right around the corner, and even though both of these two teams are inside the playoff zone
(and presumably would like to stay there), the first half was downright nice - although I could see
one person who could, if he wanted, light the fuse that could turn it it into something nasty.
