If World Cup qualifying ended today, prominent African footballing countries Cameroon, Nigeria, and
Egypt would miss the World Cup, making this week's qualifiers critical for each nation. But in a
tournament where twenty teams are divided into five groups of four (meaning only six matches will
decide if you are the one nation from your group which will represent that continent in South
Africa) every match is critical.
Turkcell Super League team Ankaraspor has been relegated to the lower First Division by the Turkish
Football Association. Ankaraspor board agreed a merger with Ankaragucu during the season, which was
found dubious by the federation.
Ankaraspor has been an interesting team in Turkish Football.

The big news of the week in the Turkcell Super League is the demotion of Ankaraspor from the
Super League to the Bank Asya 1st League.
Mustafa Denizli must feel like the weight of the whole world is on his shoulders. After
coming in at the beginning of the second half of last season, he would turn around the fortunes of
Beşiktaş by accomplishing the double of the Turkish Cup and Turkcell Super League title. The
league title would make Denizli the only manager in the history of Turkish 1st division football to
win league titles with each of the big three Istanbul clubs.
