The dream always starts the same. I'm riding in a car through the heartland, and somewhere west
of Kansas City we arrive at a giant mountain which requires us to go through a tunnel. On the other
end of the tunnel is a wasteland - a charred, blackened landscape with no clouds or animals, and
plenty of shattered trees.

A Manchester United player craze for Bernese Mountain Dogs has had unfortunate consequences for
midfielder Anderson. The talented linguist, who last year told MUTV "I no speak England very very
good, mate", was so impressed with the hounds team-mates were buying from a shop in Salford that he
decided to get two of his own.

The Woodland Park Zoo and Seattle Sounders teamed up have some animals play with soccer balls.
Who doesn't like big cats, wolves, bears and a miniture donkey with the game we love?
Read their blog entry on the subject.
Oh, and go to the zoo as an adult some time. I went with my dad over the summer and it was a
cool way to remember youth, but learn some stuff.

I assume you're all perfectly aware already, but today is 'World Animal Day' (of course you're
aware, it was hardly worth mentioning) and, as such, we've taken the opportunity to cobble together
a first-choice XI of pun-tastic footballing 'animals'.

New research by psychologists at the University of Amsterdam suggests that goalkeepers are biased
to dive to the right during penalty-kick shootouts.
The study found that during penalty shootouts, goalies will dive to the right side 71 percent of
the time when their team is down, but not when they're tied or ahead.
Zlat is quackers File this one under 'strange things your hear at AC Milan training sessions'.
Apparently, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a keen keeper of ducks. Whether the big man has a
dream of living The Good Life-style sustainability by working the land and keeping animals or has
simply begun keeping poultry in honour [.
Sad news for today, Queca is no longer with us... Queca became a household name thanks to his
regular appearances on the Crackòvia show. Earlier today Carles Puyol announced
the sad passing of his beloved sheep via his Twitter account:
Hoy es un día triste para mi, Queca ha muerto, ya era mayor y no supo llevar la fama, ahora
tengo otro animal de compañía, después paso foto
But Capita already has two other animals waiting in line to fill the gap that Queca left.
Five players on Mexico's national team were suspended from the Gold Cup, and from international

players are Francisco Rodríguez, Antonio "Sinha" Naelson, Edgar Dueñas, Cristián Bermúdez, and
Guillermo Ochoa.
In Yann Martel's Life of Pi, four animals find themselves shipwrecked. An orangutan, a
zebra, a hyena, and a tiger, along with the protagonist, are crammed into a tiny lifeboat together,
eventually eating each other as the story progresses and hunger becomes a large concern. The zebra
is the first to be eaten, torn apart bit by bit by the hyena.

This past Monday, Fabian Lustenberger and Sascha Burchert were two of the Hertha BSC footballers
who spent their free time with some of their furrier friends at the zoo. One fortunate,
flipper-clad lady that also happens to be named Hertha went as far as securing herself a
sponsorship deal with the club.
I love animals, so it's a wonder there hasn't been more clips of this kind at NSC. Here, a
Brazilian police dog get's a little too excited and a bit of the spotlight. And I'd presume, his
butterfingered handler got a slightly used soccer ball and a bill for one new soccer ball.Said the
embarrassed cop afterward: "(W)oof.
