2010 is a big year in African football. Not only will Africa host the 2010 World Cup, but see the
re-appearance of their continental championship, the African Cup of Nations.
Today, the BBC takes a look at the progress of the stadiums being built for the tournament, being
held in January 2010.

My computer's been broken the past few weeks. So I've no idea what the latest news is concerning
the world's biggest sporting event.
Instead of regurgitating a load of news, here's a list of required reading to get you all caught
up, complete with my oh-so-witty commentary .

The 2010 African Cup of Nations kicks off on January 10th. Earlier this week, we got our first look
at the Puma kits that will be worn by Angola (home), Cameroon (home and away), Ivory Coast (home
and away) and Morocco (home) during the tournament. Now, several more kits for Puma-sponsored

You might notice the cheeky slight change to our weekly stadium feature's name we've pluralised

This weekend was the World Cup qualifying climax in Africa, and there was plenty of
qualification drama to go around. The winners of each of the five groups qualified for World Cup
2010, and everyone else missed out. But there was a pretty decent consolation prize for the ten
second and third placed teams, as World Cup qualifying doubles as Africa Cup of Nations qualifying
and the top three in each group qualified for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations (also known as the
African Nations Cup, ACN and CAN) in Angola.
In October, Puma unveiled the 2010 football kits for the eleven African teams it sponsors: Ghana,
Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Egypt, Tunisia, Namibia, Morocco, Angola, Senegal and Togo. At
that time, Puma also announced the signing of Algeria FA with Les Fennecs (The Desert Foxes)
becoming part of the Puma football portfolio from January [.
Liverpool striker David Ngog has been approached by Cameroon to play for the African country.
Ngog, who has played for France from Under 16 level through to Under 21, qualifies for Cameroon
through his father.
Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen is keen for Ngog to change his allegiance ahead of the African Cup of
Nations and World Cup.
The groups for the Africa Cup of Nations 2010 were drawn today, which should go at least some
way to cheering up teams like Egypt and Tunisia who very narrowly missed the World Cup 2010
boat.
The tournament takes place in Angola from January 10th to January 31st, 2010. We've got blogs

A 27ª edição da Copa Africana de Nações, será realizada em 2010, em Angola. A decisão foi
tomada pela Confederação Africana de Futebol, para propiciar novos países com sede.

africanas para a Copa do Mundo de 2010, fazendo com que Angola (já classificada para a Copa da
África) e a África do Sul (já classificada para a Copa do Mundo), disputassem a mesma.

The new Egypt football home shirt for the 2009-10 and 2010-2011 seasons has been released by Puma.
The Egyptian national soccer team will wear this jersey in Angola (2010) when they defend their
African Cup of Nations title. The template used is similar to the other creations by Puma for the
