The St Louis Post-Dispatch named their All-Metro squad and there are four members of the first team who will be wearing Missouri State maroon this Fall:

Katelyn Frederickson, Nerinx Hall midfielder - A two-time second-team selection, Frederickson was as versatile as any player in the area, filling whatever role the Markers required.

This is not the sort of morning that I'd relish watching a soccer game ... but two of my intrepid housemates (applesrisp in hand) will be heading to Lewiston momentarily to watch the Bobcats tangle with the Panthers. Would be so nice if Bates could defeat Middlebury ... and while it's probably in the unlikely category, what I love about sports is that "it could happen.

But, facing yet another late goal and yet another half playing from behind, the Bulls did something we haven't seen all season.

I do not normally comment on non-soccer related items on this blog. While I have mentioned good causes to support in the past, they have all been soccer related somehow. This is a little different, no soccer involved but something I am supporting.There is a group known as Soldier's Angels. They help the wounded who arrive in Germany and the States from Iraq and Afghanistan.

As much as I enjoy Kartik's writing and analysis, let me add a counter-point on this. The referee clearly blew this call, and there are no rules of the game or replay angels that would ever indicate otherwise.

That being said, I try not to get fussed about blown calls. Soccer is a game of blown calls, and nobody knows that better than me.

As mentioned in a previous post, the group Soldier's Angels has a fund raiser known as Project Valour-IT running through Veterans day. While all the donations go to the same cause the fund raiser is being ran as a team competition. Even though the Marine corps is the smallest branch, the Marine team currently leads the others branches (as expected) in fund raising.
